I just installed a Warn Vantage 2000 winch on my 2012 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 using this 84704 mount. Additionally, I installed a Pro Vantage front plow mount while I had it opened up. Fit up was great considering the space and options allowed. It would have been a huge task to fabricate my own but I do have all the capability. Yes, the instructions lack crystal clear clarity and the images are too close in to easily identify orientations. It could likely help a lot of installers to understand the winch mounts upside down with the brand stickers facing back. Also, in the step describing placing the winch on the bumper then putting the bumper back on the quad...the winch bolts to nothing yet, you just set it there. If this is too "fumbley" for you put a few zip ties on it. I am a highly skilled technician of 30 years, I write assembly instructions for a living these days...this was a tedious installation and well worth some time and patience...give yourself an entire day if you've never done one of these before. Warn makes good stuff and these are no exceptions. If you have little technical installation experience consider professional installation, it will save you a lot of stress and frustration. This is doable and works fantastic once its all said and done. Happy wrenching !!

Added to my grizzly 700. I've since used it to winch tree logs, pull the atv out from being stuck, and use it on the atv plow. Its worked great as expected. Its warn... Great price. Much cheaper than dealer wanted.

I have an 06 Polaris sportsman 500 that i put this in, to replace the factory winch that i was having issues with the contactor on. this winch only comes with about 1.5-2 foot power leads, really limiting the mounting options. the winch leads are about 6-7 feet. I had to reverse the lines, inorder to use the same mounting location as the factory contactor. so now, i have a blue and yellow running to the battery and a red and black going to the winch. they are the same size lines, so not a huge deal, but kind of an inconvinence, and i have no slack in either of the lines, leaving limited options, and would likely not work on a machine that is larger.

Perfect winch for my ATV snow plow setup. Lifts and lowers the blade smoothly and fast. Works great even in freezing weather.

Great winch. Good complete kit. This is why you spend the little bit extra money to get parts from a trusted name brand. They've been around long enough to know what they're doing and to do it well. Everything you need is in this box other than possibly different length wires if you are installing on something other than a ATV. One thing I will note though, the power wires on the winch motor are in a different location on this. They are not out on the end but are in close to the spool. This maybe a good thing with keeping wires tucked in to avoid damage but in the application I used this one for, a Honda Rancher, the studs were very close to the frame. I was able to adjust orientation of cables to avoid contact but it was close. The easy of installation will vary from machine to machine. This Honda was a pita, took me more than twice as long as any such install I've done but that is entirely because of the machine not this winch. Cable length is more than enough. Noise level is not even a issue but it isn't loud. Winch looks good and has a nice manufacturer name sticker on the body.

Winch does not work. Unit has power but the clutch will not engage. Total waste of money and time.

Installed on a 2019 Kodiak 450. Was easy to install, works and looks great! Note: I did have to order a mounting bracket to work on the quad.
