Description
WARN's VRX 35 powersports winch offers all new levels of performance and reliability. With a 3,500 lb capacity that is available with a steel rope, this winch is perfect for smaller ATVs and UTVs. The durable, all-metal construction features black powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance and the waterproof sealing keeps the elements out. The new clutch design is based on the legendary WARN 4WD hub lock know-how. The three-stage planetary gear train is all-metal, smooth, and reliable, and the load-holding mechanical brake offers great control. The VRX 35 includes 50' x 7/32" steel rope, roller fairlead, and zinc-plated hook, as well as a handlebar-mounted rocker switch. WARN offers a limited lifetime mechanical warranty and a 3 year electrical warranty on this winch.

I had some issues installing this winch but they were due to the vehicle, not the winch. I installed this Warn VRX 45 winch on a 2023 Kawasaki Mule Trans 4010. It fit behind the front bumper with room to spare. The winch is nicely finished and seems to be very well built. The supplied accessories and hardware are all top quality. The wires were more than long enough to be routed in a way that kept them from being seen and/or damaged. The installation instructions were clear and easy to read and understand. I didn't mount the dash-mounted rocker switch but I did install the wired remote plug in the dash. It's really tight under the Mule dash and contorting myself to get under there was a real issue. But I was finally able to find the ignition wire for a proper electrical connection. Once everything was installed I checked the function on the winch and remote. Worked just like it should. I like the easy turn dial on the winch that allows the cable to be pulled out to length. Another simple turn and you're ready to winch. The remote wire is long enough to easily control the winch from the front of the vehicle and remain a safe distance a way in case of cable failure. If I had a complaint it would be that this winch isn't going to win any speed contests. Winching under load is slow. Really slow. But, I knew that going in and it's about what I expected so I'm not gonna mark it down for that. Aside from that this winch performs quite well. It easily pulled the Mule out of a stream bed on my property that's very steep and about 40' long. It never reached it's duty cycle shutoff while doing that. Hardly a torture test but it is a real life test that's probably representative of the type of use this winch will generally see. I'm very happy with this Warn winch.

This winch was really made to pull out ATVs out of the mud hole. I decided to use it to pull up 32 shrubs and I must say, its a workhorse. I used a double snatch block to pull up some deeply rooted Shrubs and it performed very well. I have this installed on to a CanAm 570 and connected the back of the CanAm to a tree with stout rope as an anchor - I was amazed by the strength of this thing. Of course I have pulled out an ATV more then once from a deep mudhole as well. WARN is the way to go if you seriously want the quality!

Its a warn its the best you can get, easy install no need for a mounting plate on my machine as the holes were set for that winch. Generous amount of cables, good instructions for the most part, haven't needed it yet but that one day i will need it, i know it will work.

I installed this in a 2012 Honda Rancher 4X4 AT using a WARN 84704 mounting kit. It was a snug fit, but definitely works. The manual that came with the winch itself was very vague. The instructions that came with the mount were a little more descriptive, but the images were useless (black and white images that had been copied one too many times. My biggest complaint with the winch is the wiring that was included. So you're asked to mount the solenoid/contactor near the battery, yet they provide you with 2' yellow and blue leads to connect the winch to the contactor? So unless you're mounting the contactor in the motor area, the leads are useless. I ended up having to buy wire that would reach. Since most ATV's have their batteries in the rear/seat area, I'm assuming most will have this same problem. Once connected, the winch is great. Very solid feel, and quality construction.

I've mostly used it for snowplow use, but it has been flawless in performance. Very easy to engage/disengage the clutch. Mine is installed on a John Deere XUV 835M. The factory winch harness is a very nice upgrade over the cables included with the winch, fwiw. Update January 2025. I've been using this for 6 years now. It still runs like new. Plowed the latest snowstorm and then pulled my wife's car out of a snowy ditch on the side of our road. Flawless performance. I have the wire cable version and it now has a few kinks and the odd broken wire, but I think that's to be expected. Would definitely buy again

The media could not be loaded. Make sure this winch is securely mounted. If there are any loose or questionable bolts on your ATV mounting replace them, it will require secured fasteners. Winch is larger than I expected for this 4 x 4 ATV but is required for successful and safe wood lot management duties. I recommend multiple snatch blocks to reduce stresses on both winch and ATV when dislodging widow makers. Winch is extremely powerful do not underestimate it’s ability. For trouble free operation before using the winch at it’s full capacity manually pull winch cable out until the last row of cable is visible on spool. Attach winch hook to tree or tow vehicle ball. Electrically operate winch allowing winch to pull ATV towards anchor point as you guide cable appropriately back on to its spool. This process will eliminate ay gaps or spacing that will cause cable lockup’s on itself. Quad came with a Badland model which split open like an egg on its third use. I’m extremely impressed and pleased with the functionality of this Warn 3500 winch and so will you. Warn should include stickers… we like stickers.
