  • Don't be fooled by marketing!
Size: 64 Ounce Copolyester Container Jar
Don't be fooled into buying a 'competing' product like Blendtec or Vitamix. While they do better than most cheap blenders, they don't compare to this one. The Waring is a true commercial machine and is superior to the afore-mentioned blenders in several ways. 1. Blending ability: No tamper needed - put something in this blender, whether ice, frozen fruit, nuts, hard vegetables, or god forbid, spinach. Hit the power, it is destroyed in seconds. Wan't nut butter? Done. Rice flour? Pulse the power button couple times my friend. Soup? Will run up about 12-15 degrees per minute depending on ingredients. Blended margarita? I drop in the ice first with no liquid. Turns a half-full container of ice into snow in about 3-4 seconds with no chunks. Pour in the liquid ingredients, pulse for about 2 seconds and done. Literally...less than 10 seconds of blending to the perfect consistency. 2. Build quality: This thing is a beast. I kid you not, looks like a small V8 engine sitting there. Switches feel first-rate, variable speed dial feels expensive, container is beefy. Cannot bog this motor down. Big, heavy, overpowered, durable. Assembled in USA. You can see how the Vitamix especially has copied the Waring design. 3. Intelligent design: Obviously see the commercial aspect of the design in this. For example, there is a heavy rubber cover that protects the motor in the event you spill or boil over. Simply pull it off, rinse it in the sink, and snap it back on. Keeps liquids out of the motor. Don't ask me how I know this. Something to do with seeing how fast it would heat up and make soup, created enough pressure to blow lid off. Went back to directions, realized I hadn't followed them and wasn't supposed to make a 60 oz container of soup, but at least it was easy to clean up the mess. 4. Longevity: Yes, the Blendtec or Vitamix will give you a 7 year home-use warranty. The Waring gives you a 1 year commercial warranty. Stop and think about it. The Waring is designed to make 100+ smoothies or blended beverages a day. They will cover you for one year of that, or in excess of 3650 uses. Your Vitamix will warranty you for home use for 7 years, but realistically even one large blended beverage every day for 7 years will only be about 2500 beverages. Which one do you think is going to last longer? If you're worried, buy the Canopy extended warranty for $6. That being said, there are some reasons you may not like this: 1. It is big, so it might not fit under your cabinets, only drawback I have found to it. Measures 18 3/4 inches tall with lid on. If you are tight on space, measure first. Added a couple pictures comparing size to a mere mortal blender (KitchenAid). 2. With this much power, it is loud. If you live in an apartment, have neighbors, or even live inside city limits, you will likely scare someone when you turn it on. Fortunately the noise only lasts a few seconds and you're done, unless you're making soup. If you plan on making soup, I can personally verify that a pan on the stovetop makes much less noise than this blender. 3. It is not a Vitamix. If you are a sheep who must follow the flock, buy the Vitamix. If you follow a self-directed path in life, are a trendsetter amongst your circle of friends, or just enjoy owning better tools, buy the Waring. After several months of use, I am still amazed, and even some of my relatives who own Vitamix blenders have said they are shocked how much better this is. Will update if any problems. UPDATE: Have had this nearly two years now, multiple smoothies every day. The jar is showing a little wear from all the frozen berries, ice, and wood I have ran through this (pulverizing chips for speed-smoking meat). I bought a wrench to take out the blades, allowed me to clean the crud off the blades about every other month. The blender has performed flawlessly, and have had numerous friends purchase one after seeing/using ours. This is a top notch product! 3 Year update: Our Waring turns 3 this month. We are still making multiple smoothies every day, I would safely estimate in excess of 1500 uses by now. No issues with the blender. The Raptor jar is showing light scuffing from frozen berries, ice, wood, etc. that we have blended, but no problems with it. I bought a spare gasket and o-ring about 2 years ago when I bought the wrench to remove the blades for cleaning. Still haven't used them, no need. Would highly recommend. We have personally converted 5 prior Vitamix owners after seeing our Waring in action. Ironically, all 5 had Vitamix blenders which gave out in the first 2 years. One additional con I have observed, not enough to stop me from leaving it a 5-star rating. Seems like with the smoothies my wife and daughter make, there is some residue left over time on the blade and bottom of the pitcher. Doesn't come off with washing, not sure if it's from the peanut butter they always put in or what. About every 3 months I take out the blades and scrape/scrub them clean. Can't seem to reach it adequately with the blades in the pitcher. Looks like hard mineral deposit, scrapes off in flakes. 5 Year update: Our blender turns 5 years old this month. A few months back the blade snapped in half for no apparent reason - just blending the normal smoothie with frozen fruit. Contacted Waring to verify whether the replacement jar came with a blade or if I could get the blade separately. They asked for my address, sent a new jar with blade at no cost. Still absolutely in love with this blender. We are easily over 3000 smoothies and hundreds of other uses, no issues at all. Literally like the day we bought it. We continue to convert Vitamix and BlendTec users who use this. Dec 2021 - 6 year update: Blender is still going like new, still multiple uses 5-6 days a week. Found out that a Vitamix blender jar is interchangeable with the Waring. Swapped for a few days with a friend who is a Vitamix aficionado. He could not believe how much better his Vitamix blended, I could hardly believe how horrible the Vitamix jar was. The Vitamix jar was definitely much quieter but takes 6-8 times as long (plus a bunch of scraping the jar down) to blend something. Got my Waring jar back, the vortex of power is insane! My friend got his Vitamix jar back, he went and bought a Waring the next week. ... show more

  • Black Specs
Size: 64 Ounce Copolyester Container Jar
Lots of black particles floating around after 15 blends with just water alone - not sure how many more needed to get rid of these. If you still choose to purchase ensure you do not use until you get rid of these as you do not know what you are ingesting. Sadly waring has not addressed this as they are aware of it, other buyers have same issue, see https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R16CFMV1RC09HA/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B005V2QMH2 ... ensure you test. I have bought 2 of these blenders, my finding is that 1) blender is very good, as good as or perhaps superior to vitamix (I also own a vitamix) 2) Waring doesn't seem to care about fixing the particle issue with its containers (the metal containers have the same particle issue) - many complaints and no response nor resolution, eventually the blade assembly wears down. 3) Though vitamix container does not have particle issue and it is more robust than waring what I find is that vitamix just makes a blade BUT waring ENGINEERs a blade for optimal blending --- where vitamix needs a tamper, waring creates a powerful vortex that pulls whatever you are blending towards the blade with a very powerful force, if waring fix particle issue this will be ultimate blender and I will buy many more containers. ... show more

  • A beast! Super versatile. Great value. Sent back my Vitamix for this one.
Size: 64 Ounce Copolyester Container Jar
So about a year ago I decided my Oster is not truly a blender, but more of a mixer. So I started looking into getting a Vitamix. Prices - sky is the limit! Those things are pretty expensive! To save some dinero I purchase a reconditioned 5200 Vitamix directly from the company. Price - 300 plus 25 shipping plus 21 tax = 346. I thought I got a good deal, so before it came I started looking for various recipes, uses etc. that a powerful blender would deliver. In my search I stumbled upon 2 videos that pretty much changed the way I looked at a blender, and rocked my belief that the Vitamix was the best I could get in that price range. And that was even before my blender was delivered! So I jumped on my computer and ordered this Waring (for about 330 bucks at the time). Both got home in the same time pretty much. So which one did I end up with? The Waring, of course. How did they compare? There is not a night-and-day one. They are both very, very good blenders. But in every test I did in the short time I had both, the Waring stood out. The power, blending action, and overall feeling reinforced my decision to keep the Waring and return the Vitamix. Any regret? Absolutely NONE! This thing is a beast. Nothing can stop it! It has so much torque! It is truly one of my best appliances (I try to purchase commercial quality as often as I can - I also have the Waring WFP14SC , the KitchenAid KSM8990OB , the Weston 08-0801-W , among others) and I reach for it every time I have the chance. I make nut butters, coconut butter, fine purees, almond milk, coconut milk, smoothies, blended juices, shaved ice, nutella, and many, many more. There are some recipes (such as carrot puree) in which the speed and friction created will actually cook the food! I have also used it to make corn meal for polenta out of whole corn kernels. Is this perfect? No, not at all. When making ice cream, it doesn't matter how slow or fast I use it, it will not mix well. So I had to make my own tamper similar to the Vitamix one. Also, the container is fairly wide at the base, so it needs a bit larger quantities when making nut butters, etc. More, the container is not very resistant. It didn't break (and I blended some nasty stuff, as you will probably too after seeing the videos I seen) but it has now scars and it is cloudy at the base (to fix it I have just purchased the Waring stainless steel container CAC90 - you can also get it without the lid but with a blade for a bit cheaper, Waring model 503346 , or without the blade or the lid Waring model 026648 . The lid from the plastic container fits perfectly). And also, it would have been nice to have a smaller, maybe even upside-down container, for a quick marinade or a vinaigrette. BUT, this is nitpicking, as this is indeed a fantastic blender, and I would not trade it for anything else. If not convinced, please search for and see the following videos: "The Waring Xtreme Blender" by KaTom (S3VG24BJ0-Q on youtube), end especially this one: "Science of Blending • Impact • ChefSteps" by ChefSteps (eCJ313gICFg on youtube) - I never knew you could blend golf balls!!! Watch them, it will change the way you look at this blender - I promise. All in all - highly recommended! ... show more
