Honestly I was reading the reviews and saw that the coat was hit or miss, but the quality is impressive from the small price tag. Large fits perfect and I got so many compliments the first time I wore it. It's comfy and I got the ultra thick version, it's warm! I'm sure the lighter ones aren't.

I would give this 5 stars if it were truly made as heavy duty and thoughtfully as the pictures look, however it isn't. BUT.....that doesn't mean it isn't a good buy. For the price, you get more than what you pay for. The material is thinner, and the construction is somewhat nice, but there were shortcuts taken to give the "look" of quality and durability and tailoring without actually providing it. There are a lot of phony pockets and features that aren't at all what they would be expected to be. The material always looks a bit sloppy due to it's thinner make, and doesn't fall gracefully with a tailored look like other "thinner" materials can, and doesn't hold it's stiffness or shaper where sturdier material would. It still looks nice though, and for a casual, every day coat in milder weather it suffices. The thing to understand is that for how inexpensive it is, it does appear to be really nice, and it is soft....not itchy/scratchy. I doubt it will hold up for the next ten years, and I'm not sure it would look good with formal wear as we hoped. It's inferior tailored look and construction would kind of look tacky with a more expensive pairing....similar to wearing a shirt bought from a dollar store with a pair of fantastic fitting, high-end dress slacks or Levis. However, like I said, for regular daily wear with anything normal, or for a school kid, it's really nice and a Good Buy. My college son isn't at an Ivy League school, and is presently attending Junior College. He can't afford the high end version of such a jacket, so this was a wonderful selection to suit his needs. Most people would never look close enough to see the inferior quality. What the manufacturer fails to understand is that we would have gladly paid another $25-$50 over this price for a solid jacket that hangs well, has a thicker material to hold it's shape, and has real features. It's either THIS, or pay $200-$400+ for a high end version that doesn't even give the same cool look both front and back that this jacket provides. All the other options that were around $50-$100 more than this jacket did not have the same exact nice feature in the back waistline, or else it didn't pull off the look that the front of this one does.

This is from trying it on so this is not a long term review. I bought this to wear over business casual clothes on those days where it is very cold. The initial quality is good. The material is comfortable. I purchased the extra thick. The zipper works fine. The buttons button correctly and seem attached well. Some of the negative reviews were about these two items. On mine, the buttons DO button to the jacket and seem to be of decent quality. The zipper is 'normal' in other words not the opposite left/right of a normal men's jacket. The material seems like it will wrinkle so make sure it is hung correctly. It is possible there is a difference between the regular and the extra thick in terms of how the jacket is made but no way to tell. As far as looks the jacket is fashionable so I intend to keep it. It is not expensive so we will see how it holds up.
