  • Great way to store good scrap
This is an easy way to get back storage space and keep organized. I've got some long leftovers from building my deck and have, until now, had the hardest time squirreling them away neatly. The installation was really easy, especially in my unfinished garage with visible studs. My one criticism would be making some optional pins for the end, cause smooth wood on slick painted metal, makes things difficult sometimes. ... show more

  • Not just for lumber. Can be mounted as one unit or two. A few concerns
This is great for hanging a ladder, sports equipment like skis, scooters & bikes, etc. You can also just use them as shelves, put a wood shelving board on bottom. I have a couple design complaints. First, I've seen other brands where the end curves up or has a pin on the end, to prevent things from rolling off. These do not. These arms are 16 inches long. The advantage of not having a pin on the end is, you can put an 18 or even 20 inch wide board on them and they'll hold. The disadvantage, of course, is that it's less secure no matter what you put on it, particularly if it's mounted high up, and you're pulling things off of it. My other complaint is that the height isn't adjustable. Each bracket is 3 arms, and the bottom two are limited to 6 inches. Naturally you can stack as tall as you want on the top shelf. On the plus side, you can mount this in any configuration. Instead of one unit with 6 shelves, you can break it up into two units of 3 shelves - for example, one on each side of the garage. The instructions don't mention the weight limit, or what kind of metal is used, which is kindof a red flag. Nonetheless, their advertising is consistent with other brands who claim that each shelf (total load of two arms) is 100-120 pounds, so perhaps each arm individually can hold around 60 pounds. Much of the weight capacity has to do with the way it's mounted, and if planning on getting anywhere close to this weight limit, I suggest using your own hardware and of course mounting onto studs. The included hardware looks like the proper grade of stainless, but there are no markings on it so we don't know what the material is. You really don't want this crashing down on your car in the middle of the night, or worse, crashing down on your head (or a child). If using in the garage, I am a bit concerned that this metal may be prone to rust. The finish on the outside is fairly good, out of the box there are a few scratches and nicks down to the metal, but overall it's not bad. However the inside is not treated, and I'm also a bit concerned the hinges might rust. 3.5 stars. ... show more

  • Thanks to These I Have Lots More Floorspace
These are great. They require some assembly but instructions are easy to follow. I have a wooden framed garage. I drilled three holes on every other vertical beam that supports the wall. Once I had one end done, I used my spirit level to help position the next shelf mount. Once I had all four installed, I put wooden planks across so I can use the storage racks as shelving for large plastic storage containers. I can fit my car underneath the shelf with two rows of four storage containers stacked along the wall. There is just enough clearance for my garage door to roll up and open. It took about an hour to install and now, with all the containers stacked on the wall, I have a lot more floorspace. ... show more

  • Easy and Convenient Storage
These are easy to assemble and mount on your shop or garage wall to store lumber, cardboard cartons, PVC, etc., or to hang ladders or other shelving type racks. On our shop wall, they are storing 2" x 4" and 2" x 6" lumber, PVC pipe, and various trim lumber. The racks hold a good bit and the welds seem reasonably clean so that these components appear to be well made and sturdy. I'm looking forward to long years of service from them. They certainly help to keep the shop in better working order...not tripping over piles of "stuff" anymore! 9-19-2023: I need to add a few notes that I should have included the 1st time around. The included instructions are pretty clear, but you will need a few tools that are not clearly specified. A Phillips screwdriver and a 10mm and a 14 mm socket driver or wrench in addition to the tools pictured on the instruction sheet. Also, you will need metal washers to prevent the screws from biting into the aluminum supports. It would have been nice if these had been included. The provided screws are of a good size to anchor into wall studs, but the little plastic "spacer stickers" provided, should have been metal. ...same reason for needing metal washers in the 1st place. I hope these additional comments are helpful. ... show more

  • Good rack.
This is a nice home-use lumber rack. It's well-made, well-finished, easy to assemble, and easy to install. There are enough levels to be able to sort your boards, and be able to find everything. Taller spaces would be nice; but it would also mean taller, heavier piles -- which would make retrieving anything more difficult. This lumber rack is more than sturdy enough for most home shops; but I don't know that it could take the constant use and abuse of a commercial one. ... show more

  • At least as good as the other identical versions of this rack. Shop on price!
I have a few of these, most recently before this set was the Wallmaster version. Clearly I like this design, as they are easy to install and cheap for how quick you go from "no storage" to "lots of storage". Obviously you are relying on whatever you are mounting them on. These definitely have to go into studs or concrete anchors-- don't even consider using something like a drywall anchor, as the pullout stress on the top fasteners is huge. I see many versions of this exact product on the 'zon, so I recommend you just try to find a good price, rather than looking for any distinguishing features. ... show more
