As my garage has slowly turned into a workshop, I no longer have room for the bikes in there, so I have been putting them in a narrow passageway at the side of the house. However, there are other things I need to access in that passageway, so I ordered this rack to get the bikes out of the passageway and onto the wall of the house. I had a couple of other bike racks already, but they don't swivel, so they would have blocked the passageway completely. This was a great space-saving solution. I made sure to mount the hardware on the wall studs (easy to find outside because it is where two pieces of siding join. I have the old fashioned flat wooden siding on my house, so it provided a nice flat surface on which to mount the rack). The bikes were mounted on studs 1 and 3 (not 1 and 2) because I wanted more space in between them so that they would swing back as close to the wall as possible. I initially tried to drive in the screws with my drill/driver, but I couldn't do that, so I had to spend five minutes looking for my ratcheting wrench. It took me about 45 minutes to mount them by myself. (I'm a 60+ year old woman), but at least 20 minutes of that time was spent searching for screws I dropped in the leaves and then finding an alternative screw that worked when I couldn't find one of the original screws I dropped. (Also, I was mounting the racks above a kayak, and I foolishly decided not to move that out of the way first, which would have made things much easier!) Anyway, a person more organized and less klutzy than me could easily do this in 30 minutes. A couple of other points: a big advantage of this rack is that when swiveled, the bikes cannot be seen from the front of the house. I locked them together, but I still prefer them to be out of sight, and now they are. One thing other thing to note is how to make the rack swivel back to 90 degrees.--I just tried pulling the bike around at first, and that did not work--the top part of the rack did not move, and the bike fell off. I found you have to lift up on the bike just a tad to get the rack to swivel back to 90 degrees. Anyway, this is a good solution to my lack of storage space! ... show more

I got this product to free up some garage space by hanging our bikes onto a column in the middle of the garage. Installation was fairly easy, required a drill (and I used my impact driver to drive in the bolts). Lifting the bikes onto the mounts was a bit of a chore, but they’re heavier framed bikes. The upper part of the mount has a heavy duty hinge built in which allows the user to rotate the bike almost 90 degrees so it can tuck ip closer to the wall - an innovative feature. It used the weight of the bike to keep it mostly locked into position, so to rotate it, the user lifts the bike first and then swivels the mount. It is holding up well and doing its job. Great price for a two pack of this style of bike hanger. This is a great design to keep your bike out of the way when you don't need it. It is a great design, very easy to use, with any style of bike. And it seems to be pretty well made so it should be around for quite a while. They're extremely easy to install, just two bolts for the top half and two screws for the bottom piece. Each set can all be installed on one stud in the wall. After installation, it is extremely easy to use. Just lift your front tire up and stick it in the top piece, then put your back tire in the Tire rest peace. Getting it down is just as easy, just lift the back tire, and remove the front wheel from the hook. Great product, easy installation, really easy to use, keeps your bike out of the way when you don't need it, highly recommended. ... show more

I have not had the chance to put this up yet, but I was extremely impressed at how heavy-duty the construction of this item was upon inspection. The metal is thick and rigid. The kit has all the items you need to put it up well. I might have to swap out some hardware since I plan to install this into a brick wall. The welds are solid and well-finished without any sharp pieces or edges. I love the swiveling function because it allows you to hang it without being stuck with only one orientation, also you can still use the wall behind it for somethings, awesome! ... show more

If it wasn't for my own oversight, this would have been a breeze to install, Just a few steps and bam, bikes are on the wall! I did under estimate the weight of my bikes so getting them that high off the ground to get the front wheel in that hook proved to be a bit difficult. All of the piece's in this kit are made of metal, with the exception of the bottom bracket, that is made of plastic. the bikes are easy enough to turn to the side or have straight out, they feel sturdy and not wobbly. The bolts they come with for the top bracket are very heavy duty, they are even hex head with a Philips pattern inside. I used a drill with a socket to screw in the bolts and it was very easy. The bottom screws are just Philips head. I would definitely recommend this set to hang your bikes on the wall. ... show more

Wow I am so so happy with these! I have a relatively small garage with not a lot of room for storage when a car is parked inside. This has made storing our bikes a bit difficult, to the point where we were leaving them in the backyard unless it started raining. My husband finally installed these and we put the bikes up, and man they work so well! It’s so nice how they swivel to make the bikes flush to the wall to hide us extra space in the garage. My husband said these were pretty easy for him to install, anyone that know how to use basic tools from a toolbox can do it or learn quickly.
