  • Get tools and do not have weak hands.
Color: Walnut Style: Day Bed Pattern Name: Bedroom
So, it's a pretty bed, it's just the size I was needing and I can't wait to actually test it. It overall gets a 3 out of 5 from me, solely because of its assembly. This is a bed that SHOULD only take at MOST 2 hours to build. So far I've clocked 4 1/2 hours, and still have to do the most tedious part, the last step, which is putting 3 screws into every single slat. I don't know if I got one that just happened to have bad manufacturing, but this frames holes are NOT predrilled enough, if at all for some screws. Let me be clear, I am not frail, I do not have weak wrists, in fact Ive always had stronger hands then most people around me and I have the added benifit of being ambidextrous if either of my hands get tired... and my wrists HURT building this. The tools it gives you do nothing and even with proper tools (my own), I have 3 blisters on my hands from having to force the screwdriver to get the bolts anywhere near where it should be. The instructions are clear and simple to follow this is not an issue with instructions or diagrams. It tells you to not use power tools on this, I'd say do it anyways if you can do it carefully. (I do not own any) I cannot imagine anyone who had previously broken a wrist, have arthritis, or cannot do repetitive movement ever completing this bed. Along with several places where I can tell this was scratched or dinged in factory (those don't bother me) and the really cruddy too small predrilled or not at all drilled holes, I honestly wouldn't suggest this bed... unless you're stubborn and a bit of a masochist for the "vibe" like me. I'll update on sturdiness ect. when I actually finish building it. I am just blown away with how it's taken for a simple project because of how much I've had to fight it. Edit: So, I modified a simple element to make it much sturdier, which as moving the support price to the middle instead of at the frount. It's easily supported 3 of my friends, and separately my larger brother with no issue. It's pretty sturdy, on carpet, on wood or tile I can see this scooting around. As well as if you followed the original instructions with the support forward, it be a lot more sketchy. All in all, I lost the ability to use my wrists for 2 days, it exhausted me so much I had to split the building into 3 days, about 4-2 hours a day. I also had the issue of the screws breaking as I put them in. After having it a few days, I'm honestly taking away a star. As cute as it is, and how much I enjoy it, I cannot look at it without feeling the ghost aches of putting it together. It was much more of a hassle then it was worth. I feel like that if taking it back after I started putting together was an option for me, I would have taken it. But it's done, and it's what I wanted, but I can't enjoy it without feeling the negative. Agian, do not attempt if you have ANY difficulty using your hands, or have injured them in the past. Yes, the assembly was THAT ridiculous. From 3/5 to 2/5 ... show more

  • Beautiful but the most difficult furniture I have ever assembled!!
Color: Caramel Style: Day Bed Pattern Name: Bedroom
On the positive side, it is a very nice piece of furniture. It seems sturdy although I haven’t slept on it yet as I am still waiting for the mattress. Now for the negative, it is the most difficult furniture I have assembled in my life! It took me a whole day as I needed to take long breaks to rest my hand. Make sure you have a drill! Some of the pre-drilled holes were not aligned so I had to drill new holes. Then there were parts that didnt have holes so I had to drill them. The bolts were so difficult to screw using the tool that came with it. Halfway through assembly I found that my drill had a corresponding bit so I was able to screw the bolts a little bit easier. The only good thing is that all the parts were labeled properly and the instructions were clear. If you have the patience then I would recommend this. If not then look elsewhere. ... show more

  • DYI only, difficult to assemble.
Color: Walnut Style: Day Bed Pattern Name: Bedroom
I purchased this daybed because I needed it to blend into the living room furniture and function as a sofa, and also to function as my bed full time, as we are a three person household in a two bedroom home. It does match my aesthetic perfectly. However, there are quite a few manufacturing flaws, and the sturdiness of the piece is already in doubt. There are several misdrilled holes, and these are not superficial screw holes, they are bolt holes meant to hold the basic pieces of the bed together. Several holes were on the right arm, and the middle pieces of the back are completely misaligned/misdrilled. As well, all of the wood slats need to be drilled in three places, and there are no guide holes. Likewise the back spindles have no holes. If you do not a power drill, you will be doing it all by hand. I ended up with blisters. You're also at risk of misdrillung and ruining pieces. I'd say you have to be an accomplished DIY'er to put it together, and more than one person. It's a two person job. As for sturdiness, it's about what you'd expect at the price point. A fairly cheap finish, good enough to serve it's purpose. It looks just fine. There were some flaws in the wood and finish, but nothing that was too visible. My biggest concern is that one of the legs that is set back under the sofa to give support, snapped today, after only a few days of use. There are no children or animals jumping on it, so it wasn't broken out if heavy use or abuse. I took a good look at it and I can see that it snapped where two knot holes joined in the wood. So, not necessarily a manufacturing flaw, but certainly a quality control issue that probably should have been caught in the factory. It's not something to send the whole bed back for, but I will be requesting a replacement part. I will update after I deal with the manufacturer, and I will also eventually add a photo. Overall, the bed will do, and if you think you can manage assembling the bed with all those issues, it may serve your purposes, too. ... show more

  • Love this bed!
Color: Caramel Style: Day Bed Pattern Name: Bedroom
Solid wood bed! Yes, it does take some time and patience to assemble, as it comes in many pieces, but I’ve assembled 2 of these beds by myself without any issue. Just follow the directions carefully and don’t rush it. It will probably take a couple hours, but it’s worth it. Patience is key! I bought one for my son’s bedroom and loved it so much I purchased another for my daughter (even though I had to wait a few months until the bed was back in stock). It’s sturdy, sleek, modern, and for the price, you can’t beat it. I looked everywhere for other options, but this was the best one. We’ve had them for over a year now and they’ve held up great. The only downside for some buyers might be that you can’t put a trundle bed underneath because of the support pieces, but there is still ample storage underneath the bed. We purchased the caramel color bed and it’s the perfect amount of warmth. Highly recommend. ... show more
