EDIT: more than a year and a half later it’s still going strong. The fabric has held up well and is easy to clean; a definite plus with the fur balls in the house. I’d buy it again. Fabulous arm chair. It just arrived today— less than 5 minutes to set up out of the box. The fabric is a soft waiver microfiber—vaguely like chenille in texture. It’s easy to wipe the fur off and a gorgeous deep plum tone. Easy enough to operate, though the mechanism was a bit stiff the first few times. I bought this chair so I could sit up after surgery and not lie in bed too much. When I looked at the legs in the package, I thought they were short, making the chair more low to the floor. But no, the chair does sit up high enough. I got the plum color and it is beautiful. Sturdy enough, nice material. There is no handle on the side to push/pull for reclining. This is my Queenie chair (in my own mind!). Royal purple color and sooooo comfy. The seat is cushiony yet has firm spring support underneath. The design is so classic yet modern. This is a basic style recliner. No handle, no push-button. You wanna recline?, you grab the armrests and puuuush-back. Sit up/ sit forward to de-recline! So probably NOT for a very elderly person who needs assistance getting out of their recliner, okay? This was easy to put together, it literally snapped together. Despite that it feels sturdy. The ONLY not so awesome thing is the feet. Pay attention because they just twist into place and so they can un-twist when you move it around. The back ones are angled so pay attention, or they may be in a wonky position, not 100 percent stable. ... show more

I bought this for my living room. I have a gray Crate and Barrel sofa that is prectically identical. I waffled back and forth between this one and anther brand in a vibrant red color. I settle on this as I felt it would be the more sturdy of the two. I am so glad that I did. I has been in my home for about 3 months now and I use it constently. I'm a big 300lb girl and it has been amazing. Holds up super well. Was easy to assemble. One does have to be aware when putting the back onto the bottom. There is a trick to getting the railings to fall in place correctly. Just keep thinking it through and you will figure it out. Other than that I have zero complaints. Am seriously hoping its still available when I have saved up enough for a second one. Fabric is holding up nicely with me and five chihuahuas. ... show more

I received my chair today! The shipping was faster than I expected, the packaging was great and instructions easy to follow. I was glad it also was in two pieces. - this made it easier to take it up stairs and assembled in the room rather than trying to balance/carrying a heavy load up the stairs . Comfy chair for watching TV. I was able to assemble it by myself and it only took about 15 minutes. The color is a beautiful neutral shade of aubergine. The photo I took is with a flash, which makes the shade of purple look lighter. I gave it just four stars for comfort because I would have liked the seat cushion to be slightly less firm, but hopefully it will soften some with regular use. As other reviews pointed out, the foot rest is difficult to get started if you do not have much weight to put into it. The backrest is perfect and I do not find that I need any additional pillows. The arm rests do not have enough cushion towards the backrest, but are nicely cushioned towards the front of the chair. Overall it is an excellent purchase for the cost. ... show more

I’ve had this about a month now. This chair was easily put together by my husband soon after we received it. The color is beautiful -more of a grape/plum (great actually since I splashed a bit of Merlot on the arm one day and it took me a couple minutes to actually locate where it was wet so I could wipe it quickly, I never saw the wine color!) The fabric seems very sturdy and is not thin or fragile. I’m 5’8” and sit comfortably in the chair, it’s a very good seat height and has a reasonable footprint and not huge in an overstuffed fashion) Cushion is firm but not uncomfortably so. Manual recline is a little stiff but I expect that will ease with use. I think this was a good value and expect we’ll get quite a lot of use of it over the next few years. ... show more
