My #1 need for these curtains was that they blocked out a lot of light to keep my room cool and they absolutely do that incredibly well. A single panel is almost completely opaque! I don't mind the light leaking around the edges but if you do I'd use two panels to one window. The lighting in my room is not great so makes the color seem off but in real life the color is beautiful as well, exactly as advertised in the listing photo. I really like these curtains. I didn't want to hide my beautiful window with curtains but I needed curtains in this bedroom. I used a steamer to steam in pleats to make them very compact so they would stay close to the wall in my dormer. They came out great. They do a good job blocking light. I just moved and got these to block out the heat of the summer (and hopefully the cold of the winter), so I wanted it to block most, but not all of the light. And they do exactly that. I wouldn't recommend for a bedroom, if you're light sensitive, but I think they're great for any other room in the house. The fabric is lovely, and not super heavy. I purchased these in three colors, though I returned one of those. The sage green is wonderful and true to color. The grey I'm happy with, but I don't love the brown undertones. I would have preferred a more true grey. The Sea Teal was much more vibrant than I expected. I was looking for a teal with a bit more grey in it.
