I replaced brake pads of my car with a set I purchased from a retail store. Pads made noise when braking. purchased another set from the same retail store hoping the fist set was defective. It had the same issue. Then I thought of trying these Wagner set and they are quiet.

These are working well, I just love the question about ease to install at 71 nothing is that easy to install and as for the question about mileage I only recently installed them and would be upset if they didn't last this long, that question cannot be answered until they wear out. There was one thing I didn't like about them and that was no brake grease every other time I have bought brake pads or brake shoes they had brake grease included in the box. It didn't cost much to buy some brake grease but I had to stop what I was doing clean myself up to drive 18 miles each way to the nearest auto parts store so I could carry on installing the pads, but the pads look like good ones ... show more

    • Police and non-police brake pads on 2002 sable .. PLEASE NOTE

These pads are not police package pads. I didn't know the difference until now. I apparently have the police package calipers. Non police pads overhang the rotor when installed on police package calipers. Having the wrong pad size will wear and will likely be abnormal contact on the outer edge of the rotor. I have a 2002 sable waggon with new calipers. Please know the difference between Police and non-police package brake pads and calipers. There is a good picture in the listing to go by where you can see the size difference between the two. Do not install over sized pads. These bigger ones fit but too tall. The pads are to fit no more or no less on the surface of the rotor. Be safe out there :-) ... show more

I really am satisfied with these new brake pads that I've installed on my car. They have a really good bite while braking, and are definitely better performing than the stock pads that I had on before. I have about 8k miles on these new pads so far, and I don't have any complaints yet! As far as the quietness of them goes, all I can say is they haven't started squeaking yet. All worn out brake pads are designed to squeak when they are too worn out, letting you know its time for a new set. So far these are simply performing as I would expect a good set of pads to perform, and I would say that they are slightly above average (as compared to stock) in terms of braking performance. I haven't "measured" them, but thats just what my gut evaluation feels like. ... show more
