I gave a 4/5 on durability because, like many other reviews stated, the threading on the moon and stars does begin to come lose after a while and you have to snip them. I keep an eye on it so it has not harmed my dog or caused issues, but I don't think it would anyway. They don't become very long pieces, for instance enough to wrap around a throat or get stuck in a nail. Some observations: For context, I've ordered this product twice, once in black, and now once in pink. 1.) This collar is very sturdy (at least, in my opinion)! The black collar lasted almost two years before the latch finally broke, and so far, the pink one hasn't had much of a problem with the threading yet. 2.) The quality doesn't seem to have gone down from when I first ordered the black one. I'm expecting the pink collar to last just as long! 3.) The pink color is not your typical pastel pink but almost a pale coral, exactly as it looks in the picture. It's very pretty and I'm glad the color matches as it was exactly what I was wanting. I LOvE this collar! It is even more beautiful than I thought it would be. It seems sturdy and clasp is easy to unclasp! I was not sure what size to get for my 13 lb Chihuahu/terrier mix. I got a small initially which fit but these collars are made to adjust for a growing dog so the collar fabric was dbld up and just too bulky and heavy. I then ordered the xxs which I was afraid might be an inch too small. But the length of the clasp is not included in the product listing so it turned out to be the absolute perfect size!! ... show more

Let me start by saying this a beautiful collar, I love the black with gold detailing. The design is actually stitched into the collar fabric, so you won’t see it rub off like with other collars. Some drawbacks include the lack of a breakaway buckle (I won’t lie, it’s a solid strong gold buckle that hasn’t tarnished yet) but could pose a risk to kitties who have a habit of getting caught. Fraying, the collar will get loose fibers from both the design and base collar fabric, kinda unsightly but you can trim away said stray fibers with a shaving blade or thin scissors and they look good as new! Lastly, the included bell tarnishes and looses its gold color and the included hoop for attaching the bell is easy to pull apart and stretch the wire. My cat actually caught it on fabric and broke it off completely. In my included picture you can see some fraying after I just finished snipping off all the fraying (sorry I forgot to take a before picture), with the tarnished bell. This is after 3 weeks of use. The name tag is from a separate purchase. Overall, I don’t expect this collar to last but it’s pretty and you don’t find designs like this often so I believe the price is appropriate for the product. Expect some tarnishing and don’t use the tag hoop it comes with as it breaks off. I estimate a couple years of use out of this. ... show more

I’ve had this for 1 1/2 years. The quality is really good and it’s still going strong. My dog has never had an issue. Love the style. Removes and goes back in super easy. Even when he squiggles. I’m back to order another in a different color, just tired of same one.

I wanted this to work out so bad it gives such sailor moon vibes and its black and gold my fav color combo. Unfortunately... This thing was shredded by my cat in a matter of days from scratching her neck alone. I got home from yoga one morning to find her jaw stuck under it drooling and nearly bleeding. Granted, this is not a safety collar... but this isn't my first cat nor my first collar experience so I didn't see this coming whatsoever. Threw it away after 1 week and would not recommend for safety (as well as the pretty gold design shredding from scratching) which is so unfortunate because it was super cute. Cute but dangerous ... but so are most collars even the safety ones can get stuck on your fur bbys jaw or paw which is quite the traumatizing experience for both you as a cat mommy or daddy, and your floofy friend. NOTE: I have a derpy mellow chill (possibly on the spectrum) cat & a spaz cat (the one I tried this collar on) ... I think maybe my more chill fur baby would have been fine with this, as she is literally just a ball of fluff that naps and eats and naps again. IF you want to give this collar a go... I do NOT recommend trying it on a high energy/crazy kitty as I think the risk goes up when they're more wild like her. ... show more

Hi! I'm Winston! I am a GSD and I get to go to work with my mom every day. She works in a vet hospital and so do I! My job is very important. I donate my blood to sick puppies in need of transfusions! I am not afraid of needles like my mommy is, and I will happily do my job as long as you promise to pet me before, during, after, and after, and after :)) Mom bought this collar for a photo shoot for a pet brand company who asked me to model next to mom. (which is why the plastic is still wrapped around the buckle). They sell shirts and mom will be modeling one with a similar design to this collar, so 10/1/ recommend for fashion. Winston's mom here, as far as durability and functionality this collar holds up. I went with the XL size and all of the slack is taken up in these pictures. It's very pretty and arrived sooner than expected. 13/10 recommend! ... show more
