We have two kids in two separate bedrooms and switched to this rather than having two parent units. The unit itself is huge and allows us to watch both kids at once and be able to see them. The range is pretty good, our bedrooms are all on different floors and we only have a couple dead spots on the opposite side of the house from one of the bedrooms. We haven't actually hooked it up to the wifi at all yet, I liked the idea of being able to but not having to have it connected at all. The cameras work well and the zoom capabilities are better than other cameras we've had. Set up is quick and they're easy to move around. A few things could be improved though, but not deal breakers. 1. If you're doing split screen you can only listen to one and have to manually switch, it would be great if it would switch when it detected noise (it does light up). It does have a mode to switch between each camera every so often, but I find that distracting. 2. The kickstand is not centered and it falls over easy because it's so big. & 3. The music/sounds that play on the cameras is picked up and super loud on the unit you can't hear anything else. Overall it's a great dual monitor that doesn't require WiFi. ... show more

This monitor and cameras are great. The monitor has a giant screen which makes seeing the baby easy.

    • System doesn't do full wifi
What's not revealed anywhere is it's not a complete wifi system. We had a previous vtech camera that stopped working and needed to buy a replacement (poor software and hardware I would say) but at least it had wifi connectivity on both the cameras and the parental unit (screen). This model only has wifi support on the cameras so if you go out of range of the cameras with the parental unit, you're out of luck. We do have a big house but that's why we want the model that speaks all wifi. I briefly used the pan and tilt function. That worked well and the video quality was nice. Unfortunately it's almost the only brand with the combination of a parental unit and wifi. There's a much more expensive Phillips option that makes no sense why it's priced thus. ... show more

I love the large size and the night light option. But the lights on the corner of the parent unit are really not viable from the front, you have to turn it to the side to see the different sets of lighting up indicating crying. I also don’t like that the “crying alert” is only when the mode is on the screen off timer. Theres no alert just for crying with the monitor screen on. I keep mine connected to a charger throughout the night so I don’t want it on the screen saver mode. ... show more

Terrible product with even worse support. This is the second unit with the same issue. One camera disconnected and won’t pair again. Contacted Vtech said to return it again. They could not help at all.

    • Unimpressed but like the wide angle
Unfortunately I’m very unimpressed. I wanted a camera with a wide angle so I upgraded from a Hello Baby set; the wide angle is the only function I like better than Hello Baby but for being 3x more expensive, I expected more. The night vision is ok, but very blurry/pixelated; the talking feature gets muted out very easy when the sound machine is on so I can’t even hear her; and the stupid little stand on the monitor screen is pointless. It’s too small and off centered so it tips over constantly. For the money, I am very unhappy with the purchase. The only reason I’m keeping it is because I do like the wide angle and being able to see her whole room at a glance, otherwise I’d return it. ... show more
