Our wifi went out one night so our Nanit was basically worthless. We didn't know until the morning when we woke up surprised we slept through the whole night (we have no idea if our baby did as well given the lack of connection). Sound machine and monitor in one. Fantastic product. The sound machine does register in the monitor though so it constantly flickers on the first light. Still warrants five stars though.

We had the Ikea monitors for 8 years before they died, mostly with the help of our two year old jamming things into the charge port. I bought these hoping they'd be as good or better than the Ikea ones. They work fine. I'm not sure they go the same distance the other ones could reach, but it's close. The sound is great and they're constantly on, which is better than the Ikea ones which went on and off every few seconds, probably to save power. Which brings me to the most annoying part: they don't last very long without needing a charge. For the most part this isn't an issue. We use it mostly in the bedroom when the baby is sleeping. But, for the times that we need it mobile, it doesn't last very long. Perhaps it's long enough for one or two use/naps, but we could go weeks on the old Ikea unit's charge. It’s a decent baby monitor, range is good, white noise and lullabies is a nice to have. What this is lacking is white noise filtering on the receiver end, it essentially plays back all the white noise the baby unit produces. This shouldn’t be too hard to filter out. This monitor never held a reasonable charge, and having to find places to plug it in constantly to prevent its obnoxious chirping added a whole level of unnecessary annoyance to the newborn months. Bought this for travel, but we use it at home now too. The music quality is much better than other options I have seen/heard, and the music shutoff timer is a fantastic feature. The sound is also not delayed relative to the other monitor we had.
