Description

Monitor and keep baby calm even on the go with the VTech DM1411 Audio Baby Monitor and Portable Soother. This portable soother attaches almost anywhere and lets you choose from five gentle lullabies and five soothing sounds like white noise to relax your little one while on the road. The flexible tail on this monkey-shaped noise machine hooks onto things like doorknobs, stroller handles and even car seats. Both the Parent Unit and Monkey Portable Soother's includes a rechargeable battery means no matter how many times you use the sound machine, you won’t have to worry about replacing the batteries. Auto shut-off turns the soother off after 60 minutes, so you won't have to slink into the nursery as baby snoozes to hit stop, either.

  • Great for the money
Size: Monitor with Soother
I love this little monitor! It works really well, picks up on the smallest noises and is so portable making it great for traveling or simply bringing it to someone else’s house. We see my parents multiple times in the summer and this is the best thing to bring. Range is also really good. The whole monitor is cute, lullaby music plays really well, I love that there’s a timer so it doesn’t run all night or have to turn it off ourselves. Its nightlight feature is relatively dim which is good and bad at the same time because while it’s great to have a little light it’s really not much unless the room is super dark. The only downside I would give it would be that the receiver runs out of battery quicker than I would’ve hoped but it’s not that big of a deal to plug the cord In. I highly recommend this cute guy to anyone looking for a sound only monitor with different features. ... show more

  • Lifesaver when wifi goes out
Size: Monitor with Soother
Our wifi went out one night so our Nanit was basically worthless. We didn't know until the morning when we woke up surprised we slept through the whole night (we have no idea if our baby did as well given the lack of connection). We immediately bought an audio monitor (not this one), which had crazy loud background noise coming through so we returned it and ordered this one and it is amazing. No background, we hear him as if he were in the room with us but only when he is crying or whining. The only MINOR complaint is that the battery life when not plugged in is not great. ... show more

  • Decent fully battery operated sound only baby monitor
Size: Monitor with Soother
Works fine. We bought this as an experiment instead of buying the roar monitors for 3x the cost. This works well enough for what we use it for. The range is decent. About 200ft through the walls of the house. Not sure the direct line of sight range. I can go anywhere in the house and most of the property. If I have the sound machine going, I can hear when it starts to cuts out. It will beep and flash when out of range as well. We use it mostly for getting chores done around the house during nap time or napping in the stroller. Often, the little one will fall asleep in the stroller on my runs. When I get home, I can leave him in the stroller in the front yard and make some food or get a few things done. We also use it when we first put him down at night and want to hang out in a different part of the house. The idea is also to be able to take it camping with us. I haven't done a full battery test so no idea how long the battery actually lasts for. Some stupid design issues. First off, the chargers for the two different units are different and not interchangeable. This is pretty annoying and just more stuff to keep track of. It would be great if I could plug one in near his bed and one on the counter and charge either unit from either charger. The on/off switch on the baby unit also has a third sound only setting so it's east to think you turned it off but the batter is still draining. Also, there is not light or anything else to indicate that the unit is on. Overall, iit works fine for ... show more

  • A gamechanger
Size: Monitor with Soother
You will love it. It's so helpful if you're, like me, worrying about your little one, and using multiple devices at the same time. I can only recommend this cute little gadget. 😍 Works absolutely great and the range/reach is very good. Not good for outdoors though because the device is very sensitive but in a positive way 👍 ... show more

  • doesn't have any range after one year. useless
Size: Monitor with Soother
Update a little more than a year later - This worked great for majority of a year. I could go out into the garden (maybe 800-1000 feet from baby unit) and still hear the sound machine in my baby's room over the monitor. As time went on, the connection started to get broken between the baby and parent unit if you went too far in the front yard while the baby unit was on upstairs (think to myself, "ok, reasonable, I just won't go that far into the front yard"), then I couldn't go outside of the house, then I couldn't put it further than the base of the stairs (maybe 100 feet from the baby monitor). Now, the parent unit won't stay connected if it's further than a few yards from the baby unit, making it pretty useless. We had the Ikea monitors for 8 years before they died, mostly with the help of our two year old jamming things into the charge port. I bought these hoping they'd be as good or better than the Ikea ones. They work fine. I'm not sure they go the same distance the other ones could reach, but it's close. The sound is great and they're constantly on, which is better than the Ikea ones which went on and off every few seconds, probably to save power. Which brings me to the most annoying part: they don't last very long without needing a charge. For the most part this isn't an issue. We use it mostly in the bedroom when the baby is sleeping. But, for the times that we need it mobile, it doesn't last very long. Perhaps it's long enough for one or two use/naps, but we could go weeks on the old Ikea unit's charge. So, it's just part of the process to plug it in after every use now. Still, I'm happy with it. ... show more

  • Simple monitor, great for travel
Size: Monitor with Soother
The media could not be loaded. This basic audio only monitor is just what we needed! It also has white noise and different music for your baby. There is a light feature as well. Worth purchasing if you need a more mobile monitor that can move with you and baby.

  • Broke after 3 months
Size: Monitor with Soother
Worked great for 3 months then the parent piece suddenly stopped working in the middle of the night. Parent piece now only stays on for a few minutes at a time.

  • Wonderful
Size: Monitor with Soother
Sound machine and monitor in one. Fantastic product. The sound machine does register in the monitor though so it constantly flickers on the first light. Still warrants five stars though.
