Growing older usually means some hair thinning and less volume, and flat hair tends to visually drag the face downward. Well, I heard about this tool in a YouTube hair stylist video, so I just HAD to try it. I have thicker hair, so I purchased the 1-1/2" iron. It definitely give some very nice volume to my hairstyle and looks so much nicer! It's easy to use, I just stamp it on my roots about two seconds and voila! Thicker looking hair! I'm so happy that I made the purchase and would recommend to anyone who wants that little bit of lift.

I wasn't sure about this but it really works! I am not great with curling irons, flat irons or hair dryers, however I own them all and then some. I watched a YouTube video on this before using it, and I got great results the first time. It gives volume without sprays and lasts all day. I would recommend it for anyone who wants something easy to use that adds extra fullness.

I never write reviews but I thought I would for this because I was surprised it actually worked. I got it this afternoon and did a quick trial to see what I thought of it. Pros: It heats up quickly, is easy to use, does not pull/catch on hair, doesn't smell like its burning, actually creates noticeable volume, does not require teezing or products to be effective, little hair styling knowledge/skill needed, you can still run your fingers through your hair when ur done (unlike traditional teeze/hairspray method). I liked that it literally took me 5-7minutes to do and didn't require a whole lot of effort or precision to look good. Cons: I'll need to use a few more times to give a better review of cons, so far all I can say is you need to leave some hair at your hair line and your part separate. My first time using this, I did leave a section for either side of my part separate but forgot about the hair around my face/hairline which I could see the texture after I was finished. However- easy fix, I just straightened around my face where I needed to. Here are pictures before voloom, after voloom, and after voloom and re-curling my hair. (This is second-day-hair that I had curled yesterday). No teezing and no hairspray. I'm giving four stars because many people said that the product stopped working after a few months. Of course since I've only had it a day, I don't know but I ended up purchasing the 3-year warranty with it to avoid any issues. Would probably give five stars if there had been fewer reviews regarding malfunctioning devices.

My hair dresser showed me this iron and I was astounded. After drying my hair, she parted it and dragged her finger along the part to lift a bit of hair and drape it over the other side. Then, she did that again, lifted up a narrow chunk, and crimped the roots for a few seconds with this iron set at 330 degrees. And continued around my crown and both sides a little ways down, always leaving a narrow line of uncrimped hair near the part and at the crown. This top layer she flipped over the crimped hair. After running her fingers through at the roots to arrange it a little, she gave me a mirror. I.could.not.believe this was my fine, thinning hair. The next day, voilà! Still fluffy? Yes! And then we went to the beach and hurray! It still held up pretty well. Oh my goodness, this was the last piece of the puzzle. The key, if you want your hair to look smooth, is to have those top uncrimped hairs lay over the hair that’s crimped. It’s so simple to do. Getting a good result is so simple and quick. Each crimp takes just a few seconds. When I first had it, I set the iron’s temperature at 300F and crimped 5-6 seconds and now feel confident to use 330F for 3-4 seconds. That seems to work well for my hair, which has blonde streaks. I want to respect these hairs that have been lightened. That said, I’ve had the iron for more than a month and notice no weakening of my hair or change in color. Perfect. Any second day touch up takes me a minute or two. The iron heats up quickly. To turn it on, there’s a teeny button to push. You change the temperature from 300F to 395F in 5 degree increments by pushing the + and - buttons by the on/off one. After the iron’s cooled, you lock it with a sliding closure. The kit comes with a pad to lay it on, a small brush, and a few large clips to hold your top layer away from your working area. I don’t see any need for the brush, as the crimping technique works just fine without also needing to tease or back-comb. I highly highly highly recommend this iron for fine hair.

I’m seriously impressed with how well this tool works. It only takes 1–3 seconds to create visible volume at the roots, and the results last 2–3 days — it only goes flat after washing! It’s quick, easy, and makes such a difference in how my hair looks. I hesitated at first because it’s a bit pricey, but it’s truly worth it if you’re looking to invest in your hair long-term. I highly recommend everyone to go for it — your hair will thank you!

AMAZING!!!!! My words are not going to do justice to what a miracle this device is!!! My whole life I've wanted big vampy bedroom hair, like Bridgette Bardot. Only problem is I have incredibly thin, limp hair, and lots of it too, the combination of which makes it basically impossible to style. I've always been really envious of girls who can "do" their hair with a curling iron - mine just looks like a birds nest if I try to do anything of the sort. In my quest for bigger hair I've tried all kinds of volumizing products, and even after 10+ years of trying such shampoos and creams I've only found minimal success. I was a little nervous about trying this product because successfully sectioning my hair is incredibly hard due to its thinness and density. Whenever I've watched YouTube tutorials where girls are like "now just section your hair" I usually roll my eyes, because I don't think I've once created a clean section in my life! Anyway, I was very delighted to find that the device came with both a sectioning brush and several large clamps. The clamps worked wonders - much better than any I've ever tried before, which have tended to get painfully tangled in my hair (these big plastic ones were fool-proof.) And thanks to the comb I was able to create semi decent sections! As I found out as I used the device, perfect sectioning thankfully isn't necessary here. Anyway, I did one side of my head, and I simply could not believe the difference. It was like finally getting the hair I always dreamed of!!! I definitely did better on the next side - first time round I didn't leave quite enough overlapping hair on top, so there was some crimped hair peaking out. But boy - even if you can see some crimped hair, for a girl like me who never thought she could have volume, this is amazing!!! What I've been interested to discover is that if I poof my hair up with my hands it gets HUGE. I haven't tested it yet, but I'm pretty sure that if I then applied hairspray I'd retain that supersized volume. Unlike with other hot tools I've used, where my hair collapses within minutes of use, if I just poof my hair with my hands it immediately gets bigger. I can touch it, play with it, brush it and I don't lose the volume!!!!!!! I really think that the inventor of this miracle tool should be made a saint, or have a town square named after them. If you have to sell your first born to purchase this device, do it.

Sadly, this product ruined my hair and I was forced to cut it. When you repeatedly crimp the bottom layers of your hair with this tool, the heat is damaging your hair (like any hot styling tool) but this was different than any other crumper or flat iron I'd used before. This actually changed my hair type altogether and made my hair unmanageable, all within 3 weeks of using it. I have thick, voluminous and curly/wavy blonde hair. I've used straighteners and crumpets daily, without issues. After using this tool, my hair became SO flat, lifeless and frizzy that I couldn't simply let my hair airdry or blow dry it. It would lie completely flat everywhere I had crimped it, so the only part that looked halfway normal was my bangs since they hadn't been crimped. I was so upset. I sent the crimper back, received a refund and had to get a short stacked bob (almost a pixie) to make my hair look halfway decent. Now, months later I still have issues with my hair and I continue to wait for it to grow out. It's more course than ever before, so frizzy that after I blow dry it I have to put serums or styling gels on it to stop the intense frizz which stands up like I've just rubbed a balloon on my head, and my hair no longer has any of the pretty, natural spiral curls that it had before. Once it grows out, my curl pattern and natural hair texture should grow out with it and I'll have life and body back in my hair. Just a friendly warning from someone who loved her healthy, thick hair: it's not worth the damage and regrowth process. Try a $10 crimper instead, or be glad you have regular volume in your hair already. I sure do miss mine and regret ever buying this product.
