I purchased the VOLISUN 6-pack 6-inch recessed lights, and they have been an excellent upgrade for modernizing interior lighting. The ultra-thin canless wafer design makes installation much easier than traditional recessed cans, especially in tighter ceiling spaces where joists or framing can get in the way. The included junction boxes are convenient and help keep the install clean and straightforward. One of the best features is the 5CCT selectable color temperature settings. Being able to choose between warm and bright white tones (2700K to 5000K) lets you match different rooms and preferences without guessing before purchase. That flexibility is a huge advantage. Brightness has been very good at 1080 lumens. They provide strong, even light without harsh hotspots, and the dimming function works well for adjusting mood or reducing glare. Build quality feels solid, and having ETL certification adds confidence for electrical installation. These are more than bright enough for what I needed. I used them in a walk-in closet, and the smaller size makes it really easy to place them exactly where you want instead of being stuck with larger 6” fixtures. Installation was straightforward, and once they’re up, they put out a lot of clean, even light. The compact form factor is really the highlight—you can space them better and avoid dark spots. Build quality feels in line with the price. Nothing fancy, but they do the job well and look clean once installed. I like these canless wafer type lights with only a couple of exceptions - more later. Extremely easy to install, plenty of space in the control box for wires as easy as moving a switch to change between light temperatures. The wafer light is also very simple. Cut a hole where you want the light, wire up the control box, attach the plug from the control box to the wafer part, hold up the spring holder and slip the light in the hole. The spring clamp will hold the light in place. One item you might need is a clamping mechanism for the power coming into the control box e.g., romex connectors, etc. Some of the things I really like about these lights. First, they are bright! Thankfully they are dimmable with most dimming light switches. As mentioned earlier, they are very easy to install. Finally, I really like that you can change the color temperature so easily. We have 10' ceilings and I have these set on a 6' grid as suggested in the instructions. I believe this may be to close. I really wish I would have set them on an 8 or even 10' grid. Luckily, these are all on dimmer switches so we have them somewhere around 50% - which for us is perfect for full light. My dimmer will go down to ~10% which is nice when you would like to cuddle. There is one thing I wish the manufacturer would change. The length of the connecting cables. I didn't have my measure tape with me when I installed one of these, but best guess, both sides of the cable together are probably only around 5-7". Most others lights like these have a total cable length of at least 15". At 15" you will have enough length to mount the light in the center of a 24" center truss system and have enough slack to be able to attach the cables together with the light completely out of the hole (so you can have both hands inside the hole). If I could make a suggestion to the manufacturer, it would be to lengthen this cable. When this first arrived, I did my typical initial inspection and didn't find any major issues or defects that would render these unusable or unsafe to use. At this price point (~$40), I believe this is an average value. A quick search shows similar items costing between ~$30 - 48 for 6 units. Would I order this again? Maybe, I still don't like the length of the hookup cable. Hope this helps. ... show more
