  • This board is amazing!!
so, this was my first longboard ever. i had been riding a ripstick for years, and as more and more of my friends kept purchasing long boards, i found myself being left behind the pack quite often. i figured it was time to pick one up. i pulled it out of the box, and i was ecstatic. the board is very high quality, especially for the price. the wood is sturdy and feels right. the decals on the top and bottom are beautiful, sharp, and clean, just like the pictures. as for the riding, it’s is pretty great. i rides very smoothly and quietly. the trucks came a bit tight, but i was a beginner so i ran with it. this, obviously, is a very easy fix and isn’t a gripe. there’s only two gripes i had with this board. one is very nitpicky. the plastic that the board comes wrapped in was wrapped between the trucks and the deck. which means i needed to loosen the trucks to remove it. like i said, that’s very nitpicky. the other gripe i have is the bearings aren’t going to last long. when i got them, if i were to doing the wheels, they’d make maybe 4-6 rotations. now, after about 5 days of excessive riding, i maybe get 2-3. That’s all for this layman’s review on this board. ... show more

  • Excellent Begginer Choice! Also supports heavy fellas.
Color: Solar
I've had this board for about a month now, and I've got to say I have no problems with it. I'm new to longboarding, so I hear that replacing the bearings should happen on this board, but I've been using the default ones, and they work really well. I don't have any reason for me to upgrade them myself because I feel I go fast enough, and any difference I can make with the bearings would be a small improvement. I probably will, but since I'm new, I'm a-okay with the default ones. Also I was concerned with which board would be able to support me. I'm a heavy guy weighing from around 240-250. The weight limit from the manufacturer is 250, and I can confirm that this seems to be the case. I never feel like I'm going to break the board. Given that, there is a small amount of flex. This was another thing I was initially converned with when purchasing, but the flex isn't a whole lot. It seems to flex for people of all weights, but not that it flexes on me any more than someone who weighs around 150. I really like the flex so that way it absorbs some of the shock from going over cracks or some pebbles or rough ground. The durability is something that is incredible. As someone who is right at the weight limit, I would expect for a board priced at $60 to have some problems show up, but I can confirm, the ride is just as good as the first day I got it. I ride pretty often, and I've ridden twice on this route that is 10.5 miles. (I would say I've ridden somewhere in the ball park of 30-45 miles on my board). Everything is great! One thing however, the wheels are pretty hard, so you should watch out for pebbles while riding. Also because of my extensive riding, my white wheels aren't white anymore. It's all good, I might be able to restore it's initial color after some time of scrubbing. Also the design is really awesome! Koi fish on the top, and the solar system on the bottom! Couldn't get it better than that! I highly recommend this board especially if you're a beginner like me. ... show more

  • Pretty good for a beginner.
I was not a *complete* beginner when I bought this board. I borrowed my friend's cruiser for a while, so I at least knew how to ride. However, this is the first board I personally ever owned, and at 19 years old, it was perfect for me to learn on. About 9 months ago, I got this board. I bought it because I heard good things about it, and the weight limit was higher than a lot of the other cheaper boards here. I'm 5'11, 250 pounds. Broad shoulders, muscular calves type guy. Totally NOT the kind of guy that would look like he skates. But hey, I was determined to learn, and yknow, I was hoping by skating every day it would help me stay in shape. Stepping on the board for the first time made me nervous. I was expecting this drop-thru to just snap under my weight, but after shifting around in the grass a little bit, I felt comfortable enough to ride. 9 months of continual use later, it's still holding up strong. The wood is warping slightly, but it's not enough to cause concern. And that may be my own fault for skating in the rain a couple of times, which is horrible for your board. But it goes to show that this can hold up in unfavorable conditions. Now, this board isn't perfect by any means. After a few months of me being a total beginner, I realized that, hey, it's getting really hard to push this thing. Then I found out that I should've been cleaning the bearings. The stock ones weren't that great to begin with imo, and I'm glad I sprung the extra $20 for some REDS now that I'm a little more experienced. If you're new to skating like I was (and still am), this longboard will likely work for you, too. It's a hell of a lot better than getting a pennyboard (which I've tried, god those things are sketchy) and theyre just easier than learning on a legit skateboard. It's cheap enough that if you end up not enjoying it, you at least didn't break the bank, and you can give it away as a gift or something if you can't return it anymore. It's durable enough that I ride at least three times a week for a solid couple of months now. I sort of wish I spent more money on a more *premium* board or whatever now that I'm really into skating, but if I hadn't made this purchase, I wouldn't have known. So yeah, you should buy this board (or any longboard, for that matter) ... show more
