  • Love my Backfire Electric Skateboard
The best part of my day is ripping around town on my electric skateboard. It’s super stable at high speeds and feels just like I’m Surfing in the streets. The quality is really good and it’s built to last. I loved it so much, I ordered another for whenever my friends want to cruise around town with me. This is the funnest I’ve had in over a decade. Such an amazing feeling the way the board glides so smoothly, the acceleration is really smooth and easy to get the hang of. If you’re a surfer, skater, snowboarder, this will be super easy to pick up within minutes. I love how convenient they are compared to an electric bicycle, it’s much easier to put in your car and take somewhere fun to ride. You don’t need to hassle with a bike rack or lock, just hop on and go! The best purchase I’ve made in years, wish I got one sooner. If you’re a Surfer, this is way better than an electric bike. ... show more

  • Anotha one
Just bought another one. Had the first one for a year and a half now the battery stopped holding much charge at all and breaks are faulty. Put it through hell though. Good board.

  • Lasts about a year and a half.
Bought in June, dead by December the next year. It's a decent beginner entry if you aren't sure you'll enjoy a board. It lasted a year and a half for me like another reviewer said, before the battery became unreliable. One of the packs or units in the packs is failing and it will shut off while riding. That said, it did help get me into boarding, get me outside regularly, and I rode for it well over 100 miles, probably close to 2 but I haven't looked at the ODO, was too busy zooming. If you're sure you'll like boarding it might be worth considering one with swappable batteries though. Good luck and wear a helmet. I bit it riding at 20 MPH and if I didn't have a helmet on I'd be a potato right now. ... show more

  • G2 black 110 mile review
Fast and fun. 110 miles so far no issues. I love the raw feeling of this board. It’s stiff, but nimble. Runs about 21mph on flat. I’ve hit 26 downhill comfortably. Brakes are great. Range is a little short. Time for a Zealot and an x6 for my trifecta. Addicting!

  • Dangerous
Wouldn’t recommend if you’re going to be using it often. I bought a G2 in march, I live in a Midwest major city and use it to commute on most days as long as it’s dry out. About 3 months into riding it, it started having some odd behavior. The brakes would randomly stop working, and with a top speed of 22, it felt quite dangerous. The battery life also was not what I would’ve hoped. If you ride it in sport mode, you’re going to see extremely inconsistent battery life and its charging is far too slow. Build wise I would have loved the board to be a little more premium; the trucks themselves were fine but my wheels could’ve been made out of paper mache. Chunks would come out if I looked at a rock. Definitely going to go with a different brand for my next board, unless backfire support is able to convince me otherwise. ... show more

  • Fun and fast- but makes weird squeaky noises
The media could not be loaded. I’ve had this skateboard for about two months now. It’s a lot of fun. A lot of power for only $350. Very fun. But also very potentially dangerous.. but that goes for all electric skateboards not this one specifically. I alternate between E and S mode- never really use the T turbo mode because that’s way too fast and torquey. It handles pretty well and the battery range seems pretty decent- I haven’t run out of battery yet, but I stay pretty close to my house with this board as opposed to an E bike which lets you more confidently traverse further distances. The brakes work pretty well and seem to have a dampening feature, so they don’t just brake completely and throw you forward but kind of gradually slow down. But you still need to be leaning back when you break because you will be pushed forward. As well as leaning forward when you accelerate. I take this on very slow, non busy back roads. I wouldn’t really recommend this for busy streets and certainly wouldn’t recommend using anything except the economy slow mode (E) on a street with a lot of traffic or pedestrians. All in all in the two months that I’ve ordered it it’s been a fun board and seems to be working without issue.. except for the fact that after only a few weeks, it started making an awful squeaking noise. This really loud, annoying creaking sound appears to be coming from the bushings of the front truck. I contacted Backfire about this via email and a clearly non first language as English speaking technician replied and suggested I spray WD 40 on the bushing. I greased the bushings before even contacting them and it didn’t do anything. I told him that in a second email and they basically just said it’s “supposed to squeak like that”. The sound is incredibly loud and annoying. So it’s supposed to sound like this? The support technician stopped responding to my emails when I said, I don’t think it should sound like this… ... show more

  • Too much fun.
This is easily the funnest toy I’ve purchased as an adult. I’ve put about 100 miles on it and have no complaints, though I’m already analyzing what features I’d like to improve upon for the next board I get down the road. Highest praise is how easy it is to just jump on this thing and go. It is my first electric longboard and I was in Sport mode trying to hit the top speed within days. Lowest feature for me is the distance before the battery dies. I think it’s rated at 12.5miles. I tend to get around 14 but it’s quick to reach that mileage and just a bummer to have the fun end. I’ll definitely be looking at boards with a 30mile range next time. Overall great purchase! ... show more

  • A BLAST
It’s a blast. I’m 60 and an experienced skater but I can no longer kick. This is all the fun without the work. Excellent entry to the world of electric. Only draw back that I can see is its heavy…if you run out of juice, you may want to can an Uber.
