Bought the 36" 2.1 version of this to go in the basement on a $270 58" TCL TV. In other words, I just wanted something loud(ish) and decent to overcome the barely-adequate-for-a-soap-opera speakers that came with the TV. This is my 3rd (maybe 4th??) Vizio soundbar over the years. Previous purchases have always been focused on the high-end of the Visio line with 5.1 surround and much larger subwoofers. And those things have always been pretty great for what they were. The base is outstanding on those larger subwoofers. Now I'm not an audiophile, by any means. Which means that I'm not one to add $$$$$ to a speaker/driver setup in order to further myself down the road of diminishing returns. I like something that is loud, good enough, and lets me hear dialog in movies while getting pumped when working out to music. So that's me. And I spent $110 on this unit to go in a basement setup because my son decided to abscond with the old 38" 4k monitor that I *was* using in the basement instead. I had a 2.1 speaker setup hooked up to it that; and while great for its day, it was long in the tooth at 10-15 years old and literally had just finally failed on me a couple of weeks early. So I was down to nothing and bought the TV on a whim at Costco to go down there. I then needed some speakers, didn't want to spend a lot of money, and decided on these since I have always enjoyed Vizio's stuff in the past. I'd be lying if I said I was expecting much of anything. My old speaker setup was purchased long ago at $300 - $350 refurbished. It was a NICE PC speaker setup for its day. And it wasn't even a brand anyone would recognize, I don't think. It was just one of those things where that particular unit was 'a thing' in the moment when I needed to buy it back in the day. Having pretty good 2.1 pc speakers has always made it tough for me. to buy anything else because it seems like every unit is compromised in some way. Anway, I went with this Vizio unit, thinking that it is just the basement, and I can deal with less-than-ideal sound. So I got it in, plugged in the arc cable, loaded Spotify on the google tv os and let 'er rip. And, wow! The sound isn't quite as outrageous as the old setup (that failed on me recently), but it's damn loud ... certainly loud enough to fill out the basement. The base thumps. I can hear things. It's great. Like, so great I'm thinking "what else could anyone need unless they're just trying to move up the $$$$ chain for some halo level system. Bravo Vizio. I didn't expect to be delighted, but I am. So, now I have 3 Vizio systems in my house. One in my living room TV, one on my PC (yes, I'm using a soundbar on my PC atm), and now this one in the basement. And they are all awesome. ... show more

Who’d ever think VIZIO, of all companies, would make an EXCEPTIONAL-quality 5.1 sound-bar rig … AND at such a great PRICE?! I only knew them as a once-growing entry-level player in flatscreen TVs in the earlier days, so I was dubious about this purchase till I saw all the reviews. They were at almost 5 stars w loads of reviews. The price and features made this a simple gamble w odds on favor. Soon as I opened it and started the SUPER-easy setup w the awesomely concise setup video, I knew it was off to a great start, all connectivity going as described. Keep in mind, this was being added to a new LG OLED C3 4K 65-incher. This is when I discovered how impressive the “HDMI-ARC” input is! Don’t even need the Vizio REMOTE! Just turn on the TV and BLAMMO!! Everything else turns on w it and is ready to go! The subwoofer isn’t TOO much—just perfect to hit your pancreas without waking the neighbors. And the speakers are LIGHT but well designed and sound GREAT, as does the 36” soundbar, the MAIN need we had—it REALLY brings the vocals forward in the mix. It even came w wall mounts and long cords to put the two small speakers behind your couch. Conclusion: You’re NOT gonna find this much bang for your buck anywhere. Kudos to VIZIO on this! Highly recommend for those on a budget but don’t wanna “cheap-out” and get garbage. ... show more

    • Looks Great, Works Great, arrived on time.

Very well packaged. E-Z to hookup. What took the longest was mounting the Sound Bar to the wall UNDER the T.V. Took all of 20 minutes. After that it operated just as expected. Took a little playing with the Remote to get the sound to come out of the Bass and 2 small speakers, but when the remote was figured out it works perfectly. I am TAD bit hard of hearing so I have it balanced to my side just a little more. No More "What did they say?" or hearing "TURN THAT THING DOWN!". It is hooked up to a Hisense 72" TV. One remote turns on the TV and the sound system at the same time, second or two delay for the sound to come out. But I can live with that for the improvement it makes. I was worried I would have to keep track of another remote. There DOESN'T seem to be a sync problem between the action on the TV and the sounds. I was worried it would be like the old dubbed movies where the actor stopped talking then you heard what they said. Not the case here what you hear and what you see are perfectly timed. Played with the bluetooth setting and figured out how to connect my Galaxy S23 to the speakers! Place my phone on the charger turn on the tunes and listen to sounds and music I have never heard before. Same on the TV, with the system hooked up WE (whole family) hear sounds we had not heard before on shows we watched all the time. I do wish there were a little bit better instructions on how to set up the remote and what all the different settings mean, Been using the TRY IT & SEE method until I find one that works. No instructions at all in the box, But with GOOGLE and YOU-TUBE anyone can perform open heart surgery so finding instruction wasn't that hard. I plan on using it for a couple of months if it works out I will get another system for a 2nd TV we have in the house. Over All I (WE) love it. ... show more
