    • Bright TV for a great price!
Wow this thing is bright. And big if you’re not used to 75” TV’s. Bought this with the Vizio Elevate Sound bar, perfect pairing. Bought it specifically for its ability to pass through Dolby Vision and Atmos. And the price was great compared to similar categories of higher end TV brands. Use it primarily to watch TV, movies on Fire Cube and Xbox. Would definitely play around with display settings for each input if you are particular about how things look, but it’s very adjustable. My only gripe is with the active zones that produce a blur effect when there is a lot of contrast on the image. It’s more noticeable when gaming in dark areas or when text is displayed but for me it’s not horrible. Visit RTINGS for their recommended Video settings. I don’t use SmartCast too much but I appreciate the fact I don’t need an Apple TV or chrome cast to cast things like I did before. Works great with Fire Cube, simplifies the six remotes I have to just voice commands. If you have Verizon Fios and plan on using CEC for your TV to connect to all your media via HDMI, disable input switch on your STB or else it will overide everything and annoyingly switch to Fios all the time. Wasn’t hard to install. One guy delivered it and it took two people to install it on a TV bench in our basement (did not hang). Just read the instructions on how to open the box carefully. If I could do it again I would pay for install just because I was nervous of breaking it (due to its size) but it was well protected via packaging and the hard edge design. Set up wasn’t too bad, but I work in AV so it was easy for me. It does walk you through on initial set up so don’t panic if you are technologically challenged. Would recommend hard wiring for internet if streaming from the TV, but AFTER setting up with wifi. All in all happy with purchase. Will update if there are changes ... show more

    • This thing is BRIGHT!
First off -- this thing VERY bright! If you're going from an HD to 4K TV like I did, you're going to see a MASSIVE difference in brightness (lumens). I've spent a number of hours tweaking the settings from Smartcast menu's, external audio, visuals and so-on. My impression is that if you like to tweak a system for the best possible visuals for your own personal preferences, this is going to be an excellent TV. If you're a consumer who just wants to "plug in and go" -- there may be a few items you'd want to tweak, but MOST of the defaults are fine. The one I want to call out specific attention to is enabling the "reduce noise" setting -- there seemed to be some visual artifacts when moving from bright to dark scenes that seemed to take a second to "come in to focus" that after enabling this seemed to clear that up. If you're going back to play any of your video games on this new system, I'd STRONGLY suggest going in to the gamma-correction options of the game (if available) and re-adjusting them/turning them down, due to the jump in brightness from HD to 4K. Overall, I am EXTREMELY happy with this purchase. This is a LOT of TV -- anything larger than the 75 inch I feel would have been overkill. OLED while future state, seems like it would be overkill and pricy -- to this has the perfect level of tech for the TV of today. Finally, there's not really 8K content available, so I don't know why anyone would get an 8K TV, when a 4K TV like this one would be more than sufficient for todays modern content. Final note -- my kids and I watched HOURS of trailers on the different apps so that we could simply marvel at the colors -- speaking of which, once you get it, do yourself a favor and watch the Captain Marvel trailer on Disney+ -- that was the one we found that really showcased the stunning visuals on this TV. ... show more

It won't stay connected to the sound bar. You can watch a show, no problem, change channels or turn off the TV, big problem. REALLY hates Apple TV, why can't VIZIO make this work?

Buy this for the best brightness TV and 120hz feature for gaming. Makes you wanna watch movies all day. If you have additional money buy the Elevate soundbar also. It goes so well with it.

    • Slow menus and switches inputs on its own
These are a nightmare to support. They deployed an update that ruins the input selection by causing it to timeout if there's not a signal. While I'm trying to get devices hooked up and get the device's display settings setup, the display will constantly timeout within 10 seconds and switch from the HDMI input I've selected and instead load the smart app. So I'm constantly juggling between fighting the TV to keep the desired HDMI channel selected, while trying to get the device hooked up and configured. Who decided this was a good idea? And the menus being so slow and unresponsive compounds the problem further. Then when I try to cancel the timeout or use input to switch back, it takes forever to respond. Sometimes I'm like, did I not press the button hard enough, press it again, and then the input menu finally appears then disappears because I've pressed it twice. I wish it was still possible to get non-smart TVs at this resolution and size. ... show more
