I replaced a 10 year old but seldom used Aquascape pump rated at similar GPH, which began tripping the GFI circuit it was plugged into. The old pump used twice as much wattage and was larger and heavier. So I was doubtful about this one. But this pump works very well! It pumps more water for my waterfall, with more volume even though a suitable pond filter was added in line. I think it just may be a matter of better technology and design. Obviously time will tell as to longevity, but for now I highly recommend this.

So this pump has been exceptional, over the last 18 months it has performed beautifully. I did have a impeller blade failure where 50% of two of the blade ablated off, while the pump still performed the flow was not optimal, I contacted the company to purchase a new impeller, and they simply sent me a new replacement. I cannot recommend Vivosun enough. Great company and to furnish a part that was out of warranty is above and beyond. The quality of the rest of the pump is superior and I anticipate no further problems. I will buy their products again for future ponds that I build!

Package appeared to have been opened and a part removed. Made a trip to to the hardware store and got a part and got the pump working in our water fountain. So far so good. If the pump is reliable, we’ll be happy.

For all your aquarium needs this pump gets the job done. From draining to pumping water back into to your tanks, it’s a 10/10. For those of you who have 50+ gal tanks, this can pump out a lot of water in matter of minutes. Saves you hours from having to do it all by hand. Of course you have to have pvc pipes 1” to pump it from the tank to your bathtub or sink etc. this helped with draining water and me cleaning tank faster rather than waiting on the python tube (still a great tool for draining water) to get done hours and hours. What a great pump! Get it and enjoy. Only downside is, the grip handle is loose and if it falls, it’ll break everything inside at a short distance so do becareful. I was fortunate to get another one after that accident.

So far so good. Everything came as described. Everything new nothing missing. Install was easy with numerous ways to install the pump and adjustable fitting. This waterfall holds about 200 gallons, and has about a 4 ft lift. The water flow is about right for this size of waterfall.

This pump worked great until it didn't. For the technically minded, here's the issue... The clearance between the magnet and the body is EXTREMELY tight. Only .005" of side clearance. This maybe okay for pumps in clean, perfect water. But in a pond environment with minerals and other crud in the water? It won't survive long. The crud will cake up on the rotor, and drag against the pump body, rendering the pump useless. Maybe if you completely disassemble the pump and clean it every other day? But seriously, bad design. Needs to be fixed. If they're going to advertise it as a "pond pump", it needs to work longer than a month in a pond. I've bought a different brand pump, and it's working great. Hopefully I can get my money back on this one, but the failure happened just outside the Amazon 30 day return window. Doh!!! I've been in contact with Vivosun. We'll see what happens.
