Bought the Detroit drilled and slotted front rotor kit for my 2002 Silverado 1500 5.3L 4wd ext. cab short bed truck. Installed in the original factory dual piston calipers, brake pads and clips installed and fit perfectly, rotors installed onto hubs and fit perfectly. Wiped rotors down with non chlorinated brake clean before install, gently scuffed brake pad material with new red scotchbrite before installing… should never spray brake cleaner on or apply to brake pad material!! After installing brake pads and rotors preformed a few controlled hard brake stops from 40 mph to 5mph a couple times then 60mph to 5mph then drove a good 15min or so to let cool. Didn’t notice any extra or better braking compared to regular solid rotors but didn’t seem any worst by any means. I do tow a couple thousand pounds with this truck frequently and though I never had issues with brakes fadding or getting over heated before just thought I’d try these drilled and slotted front rotor and pads out. Again while towing a couple thousand pounds with no trailer brakes I didn’t notice any better braking with these rotors compared to regular solid rotors but same thing didn’t seem to be worst by any means. One thing about these drilled and slotted rotor and pads is after a handful of months driving normally in city and highway they will get really squeaky/noisy when braking. I’d pull wheels off and just hit the rotors with a wire wheel and compressed air and that would fix the braking noise for another couple months. Living in AK and my truck staying outside year round these rotors didn’t rust out super bad which was nice. Maybe with a higher quality brake pad you could get away from the braking noises after months of use but not sure. For the price i think they are worth it and trust them on my rigs. If you are truly after a high performance drilled and slotted rotor kit would highly recommend dropping the cash on the name brand stuff

Seems like an expensive upgrade over the OE brakes on my Chevy Tahoe. Zero vibration or noise, stops effortlessly and they even look great thru the trucks factory wheels. The best part was the price compared to others brands with similar features. My only suggestion is to add a big label on each rotor noting the wheel location each rotor belongs.
