The media could not be loaded. With this much power I got away with incorporating a 34" spillway at the top of my pond's waterfall. With some activated carbon bundled inside the spillway my pond water has never been clearer and my fish have never been more active! When I first tested this pump, I thought it was too much power as it jetted up into the air from the bottom of my pond. But my fears were relieved when I simply applied a wider spillway.

My existing 3600 GPH pond pump on my ~1,500-gallon pond recently failed which prompted me to purchase this 5300 GPH unit. Installation was a breeze, as I used the existing couplings from my old pump. I am really impressed. The equivalent of my old unit sells for $220 at Lowes (an "Intertek WPR3600"; also sold as "SmartPond" or "TotalPond"; manufactured by GeoGlobal Partners). This VIVOHOME unit is more powerful and comes in at only $100. My waterfall has never looked better. It's much fuller and more lively, no longer so "meh." A significant amount of leaf debris had collected on the surface while my pump was out. It was all cleared out by the next morning. I can see leaves on the surface quickly sucking into the skimmer box at a much faster rate than before. No doubt the increased power will help reduce leaf litter on the bottom, and the lively waterfall will increase aeration. Perhaps the best part is that this thing is REALLY QUIET. I literally can't hear the pump over the sound of the waterfall with my head over the skimmer box, and the waterfall is 12' away across the pond. The old pump had a constant droning sound that really killed the vibe. If this unit holds up in the long run I'll be very happy. I can't recommend it enough at this point. Update: The pump only lasted a little under a year and a half. I guess you ultimately get what you pay for. It was relatively inexpensive, but I had hoped it would last 3 year or so.

We have a large in ground pool and by late fall we shut the system down for the winter. We don't cover the pool because the family likes to look at it through the winter and we're fortunate enough to have a yard that doesn't trash the pool much. But instead of doing the occasional skimming by hand I build a portable skimmer totally separate from my pool's main filter system. This pump is off the charts on the volume it moves. Almost too much!!! This is a 5,300 gph pump and I probably could have used a 3,500 gph pump! Amazing pump!!!

Purchased 2 pumps less that 6 months ago pumping clean water. One failed all together. The other shorted out and electrocuted me. If your pump fails don't touch the water while it is plugged in.

Very powerful. Works amazing in my aquaponics system. I had to add a flow gauge to slow the flow down otherwise it would overflow my system. Other then that I am very happy with this pump.
