First…if you preparing for joint surgery and it has been recommended to you to buy a toilet riser…this is the one. Quality was great. You felt like you would not break it. Size fit perfectly into the oval shaped toilet bowl. Easy to install. I only put one arm on it versus two. If you are heavier you would be squeezed into it and the arm rails would push against you. One gave me the ability to stand up and I could hold onto the sink counter if needed as well. Most bathrooms are smaller and the toilet is next to the sink. This was a good purchase to aid in my recovery. I won’t bark at the price either.

This toilet seat riser is easy to assemble and does the job, sort of. I actually just needed the handles following back surgery and it was helpful in this respect, but it does not have a positive way of stabilizing the riser on the toilet, so it can shift position even when the screws are tightened correctly. It also has a gap between it and the toilet bowl which can not be cleaned without removing the riser, which is not that easy, the wing nuts being quite low behind the toilet. What this product needed was some shields extending down inside the toilet bowl for a couple of inches, in order to stabilize its motion and to protect the gap from getting dirty. Since it allowed me to stand up using the handles, I will not return it after using it, but it went back in its box and will keep it in my garage, just in case. I purchased from Amazon a "FSA/HSA Eligible Toilet Safety Rails, Adjustable Toilet Safety Frame", which works much better, is less expensive and is very well designed. You don't need to remove the toilet seat and cover, just place it in front of the toilet tank.
