  • Huge help to my mom
My mom has been in assisted living and using a walker, but had been having close calls and even a couple falls and it was time to retire the walker as her main transportation and this has been working out wonderfully for her. It's lightweight enough and folds up easily so I'm able to bring it with us in my car when I take her to doctor appointments and on general outings. The battery life lasts plenty for her to get around during the day in her apartment, to the dining room, and to any activities she wants to attend or to meet her friends. It's easy for her to control and operate, nice smooth movement, and she can maneuver it just fine. It was pretty comfortable for her from the start but we did add a supportive cushion to the seat which added some extra comfort. ... show more

  • A Great Errand Runner, But Bring Your Own Juice
This review is for the Vive Lightweight Electric Power Wheelchair. PORTABILITY 5/5: I don't drive a car, so I can't dive into how easy it is to lift into the trunk of a car until I have the opportunity. I can, however, attest to how lightweight this chair is, 38lbs (42lbs with battery). To unfold, you grab the it by the bottom (backside) and it unfolds with little strength. If I recall, to fold it again, you push the back of the chair forward and it will start to close itself. One of the best things about this chair is that there is no wire pressure latch you have to pull to activate the folding mechanism, which is important because wire latches are the reason why my previous chair lasted less than 5 years. Driving in small/tight areas (indoors, small apartment spaces): 5/5 To preface, I live in an approx. ~500 sq ft apartment. I have big furniture pressed against the walls, a computer chair, a coffee table, and minimal space to move around. This chair has an EXCELLENT turning radius, even in narrow spaces. I had a very small learning curve when learning to drive this chair because it was smoother, quicker, and handled quick, sudden turns without hesitation. WHEELS 4/5: So far, the wheels are slightly larger without compromising the overall weight. This chair travels best indoors on flat surfaces. But it is not realistic to be inside all the time! Riding this outside on uneven ground and cracks was still a doable task, and not impossible. While I felt the bumps, the bigger wheels help absorb more of the shock, making the overall ride smoother. I do not expect this to travel well on cobblestone, gravel, or wood chips. But if a bike can pass through, it will be promising for this chair. Analog Joystick 2/5: A very basic joystick. Control the speed, see the battery level (by color), and the wheelchair charging port is directly on the bottom. The charger is slightly tricky to plug in without fearing about ruining the pins. Secondly, plugging the joystick wire to the rest of the chair was difficult because you can barely see the black arrows on the black connectors. There is a USB-A slot, but I haven't used it because there's only one battery for this chair. Battery & Range 3/5: Be aware that this chair only comes with one battery with a range of ~10 miles without a charge. This will differ when it's colder or hotter outside. This chair is great for light errands. Without a second battery, this is not an ideal chair for all-day events. There is a second battery compartment, but it is sold separately. If you add another battery, you will add more weight to the chair. All things considered, this is a great errand-running chair with extra storage bags attached to the back. You can always attach stroller hooks and a bigger bag for shopping and groceries. This enables anyone with limited or no mobility to engage with the world again, but be aware of the limitations of the chair itself. ... show more

  • Perfect for my mom
This Vive electric wheelchair has been a game-changer for my aging mother as she’s started having more trouble getting around. The standout feature for us is how lightweight it actually is; I was expecting a bulky power chair, but this one is easy enough to fold down and fit into the trunk of my SUV without a lot of struggle. It comes almost entirely assembled right out of the box. All you need to do is basically pop the joystick on and it's ready to go. This was a huge relief since we wanted to get her moving again as quickly as possible. The ride is stable and the acceleration is smooth rather than jerky, which makes her feel much more confident and safe when navigating everything from kitchen tiles to outdoor sidewalks. The joystick is intuitive and she’s had no trouble mastering the speed controls or the "manual mode" switch. While the price point is on the higher side compared to some other models, the sturdy build and ergonomic padding make it a reliable choice for daily independence. It’s significantly more comfortable than a standard hospital-style chair and has truly simplified our outings. ... show more

  • Really nice.
This review is for: Vive Lightweight Electric Wheelchair for Adults - Foldable Power Wheel Chair - Collapsible, Folding, Ultralight, Motorized, Light Weight Portable Travel Senior Mobility Aid - Weighs 42 lbs Setup was pretty straightforward. Took me about 15 minutes from taking it out to having it ready and on the charger. It’s lighter and more compact than I expected, which makes it easier to move around and store. The foldable design and flip-up arms help, especially when plugging it in. The QR code for the setup video didn’t work, which was a bit annoying, but the instructions are simple enough to figure out. Seat is ok for shorter use, but I’ll probably add a cushion since it’s not the most comfortable as-is. Works well overall, just a couple small things. My dad is 88 and we're so grateful for this! He's really happy to have it. ... show more

  • The Wheelchair performs and feels well built, but feels overpriced for its features.
I ordered this Wheelchair from Vive Mobility for a family member who's having a rough time with osteoarthritis and she can't walk long distances anymore. The wheelchair came pretty much fully assembled, with some minor adjustments here and there. No assembly required is a blessing especially for somebody who may be partially, or totally disabled, so if somebody is helping unpack, it is charge, and then ready to go. It really feels sturdy and well built, operation feels good too, she says acceleration isn't jerky but smooth and the the ride overall when it comes to suspension/dampening also feels decent, she had one with pneumatic tires and she says that one can't be beaten when it comes to ride comfort due to dampening, but that this one isn't bad at all. The padded seat is comfortable, much more than the average wheelchair we've all sat on at an Emergency Room, the armrests felt ergonomic too and the controls are easy to access and operate. The Weight is what you'd expect on a modern electric wheelchair, and folds and fits easily in a Honda Civic's trunk, which isn't huge, but isn't tiny either. Now, the elephant in the room is the price. $2200 isn't cheap and to be honest, you can find similar products with similar build, but better features (longer range, higher incline climb) around the $1500 mark, i'd have to be able to A-B compare them when it comes to comfort and build quality, but based only on stats, you can get one with 18 mile range with magnesium and carbon fiber build for around $1500-1800. We are happy with it, it feels very well built, and performs well according to your family needs, but lost a star due to feeling a little bit overpriced, i still recommend it because it feels safe, well built and even while you can get "better" features with the competition, we still believe 10 miles per charge is more than enough for our needs. ... show more

  • This chair gives me confidence to get out and do things
This review is for the following item: Vive Lightweight Electric Wheelchair for Adults - Foldable Power Wheel Chair - Collapsible, Folding, Ultralight, Motorized, Light Weight Portable Travel Senior Mobility Aid - Weighs 42 lbs Very nice wheelchair. It came almost fully assembled. All I had to do was put on the joystick and the padded seat. It was ready to use. The joy stick is not overly sensitive. There is a + and - button to increase or decrease your speed. Push the joy stick forward to go forward, off to the side a bit if you want to move over and then of course move the joy stick back to go in reverse. There is also a horn button. The battery is in a case on the bottom of the wheelchair. You can remove the battery box if you are not going to be using the wheelchair for long periods of time. The wheelchair folds up easily. I wasn't able to find a way to keep it in the folded position, so I used the seatbelt and that keeps it folded when not in use, so I can move it around without it springing open on me. By each of the rear wheels there is a lever, you move the lever on each wheel to put it in drive mode or into manual mode. If you don't have it in drive mode, when you go to use the wheelchair, it will beep and beep letting you know something isn't correct. I found the chair to be comfortable. The chair does weigh 42 pounds with the battery in place. So it is a bit heavy if you have to lug it up or down stairs. I would suggest removing the battery box if you have a lot of stairs to maneuver up or down. The chair is easy to clean. Wipe it down with a damp cloth. Car wax can be used on the painted surfaces to keep it nice and shiny. I took the chair out for a drive and had no problems with it. I started slowly and built up my confidence. I never had it up to full speed, but it was going at a speed that wasn't too fast for my walking companions to keep up with me. I believe I will thoroughly enjoy this chair. I'm very happy to have it and impressed with how well it is built. ... show more

  • Very lightweight, easy to use, and a great upgrade for my mother
I was honestly expecting this wheelchair to be a lot heavier, so I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It’s actually really lightweight for a power chair, which makes it so much easier to move around and transport. I ordered this for my mom who lives with us, and she previously had a basic wheelchair that needed someone to push her. This feels like such a nice upgrade for her. It came almost fully assembled. All I had to do was attach the joystick and the padded seat. The joystick is easy to use. You can adjust the speed with the + and – buttons, and moving forward, backward, or side to side feels really natural. There’s even a little horn button. The battery is located in a case underneath the chair, and you can remove it if you’re not using the wheelchair for a while. The chair also folds up easily. Another thing I like is the option to switch between drive mode and manual mode. If it’s not set correctly, You will hear a beep. The chair is comfortable, and the ride is smooth. It feels stable both indoors and outdoors. The battery life has been pretty solid too, which is important when we’re for a long time. ... show more

  • Electric wheelchair
I got this wheelchair for travel and everyday use, and overall I’m really pleased with it. The chair is surprisingly lightweight which makes folding and transporting it much easier than I expected. It fits well in the trunk of my car and I can manage it without too much strain. The controls are simple to use and the ride is smooth on flat surfaces. It does best on indoor floors or pavement, but it can feel a little less steady on rougher terrain. The battery life is decent for outings around town, though I wouldn’t rely on it for all-day use without a recharge. Comfort-wise it’s good for shorter trips, but for long periods of sitting I would add a cushion. For the price, I think it’s a solid option if you need a lightweight, foldable power chair that’s easy to travel with. ... show more
