Update #2: The company is amazing! They reached out, and sent me a set of replacement wheels. It is very comfortable. the replacement wheels are upgraded and work fantastic. My chair is like new again! 5 STARS! UPDATE: So, the wheels have failed. Which is a shame. The chair is comfortable and the rest of the chair is nice, but the wheels have failed at this point it is useless in my small office as I can't roll around anymore. I’m 6’3, 380lbs. The chair is very sturdy. No creeks or cracks yet. The chair is very comfortable and stable even when leaning back. It was very easy to assemble. I will say even though I’m a big guy I don’t have a huge rear end. When I sit down the arms do touch my hips, I don’t mind it, but it is not nearly as wide as I expected. When I asked for a large chair at work, they gave a huge chair that was like a love seat. I returned it and asked for a plus size not a double wide. I will update the review in a couple weeks with real world testing from a big guy.

My old chair was falling apart, and it had never been comfortable. The only good thing about it was that it was easy to assemble. So it was time for a new chair. I made a list of all the things I didn't like about my old chair and looked for a new chair that didn't have those things. Thus this Vitesse Office Chair. Right off, two positives: it's way more comfortable than my old chair; and it's NOT falling apart! It arrived on time in an enormous box. I didn't even try to bring the box in from the hallway. I opened it out there and brought the pieces in one at a time. I began to see problems: The seat piece alone of the new chair weighs almost as much as my old chair complete. The Vitesse chair was relatively easy to put together, although the assembly instructions were a little sketchy, leaving several steps as understood rather than itemizing them. Those missing steps, however, all come under the heading of "common sense", and a little thought solved all my questions. It took less than an hour to assemble (and I'm sitting in it as I type this review). Over the years I've assembled a fair number of pieces of furniture, shelves, appliances, etc., so I've gained quite a bit of experience that came in handy with this chair. Since the instructions left out a number of important steps, I would not recommend a novice build this chair. But it's built, and I like it. I'm also tired. Manhandling all the heavy pieces was fun but tiring. I'm 80 years old, so these things are not quite as easy as they used to be <grin>. Also at over 60 lbs., the chair doesn't weight much less than I do. It will take me awhile to get all the adjustments just the way I like them, but already the comfort is noticeable. The lumbar support is definitely helpful; that's one adjustment I've already played with. I practically live in front of my computer, and this chair already is proving comfortable for those long days of sitting. I wanted a chair with excellent padding, and I thought a chair that could hold 500 lbs in comfort probably would be just fine for my 150 lbs. So far, it seems I'm right. The 3-inch rubberized single casters are easy to roll around on. So far, I'm delighted with this purchase.

***Update*** Since posting the review, the company has contacted me, offering to send me a new set of wheels, with the promise of better quality. For the time being, have changed rating to 5 stars. Love the chair, super comfortable (probably too comfortable!). Great for lower back pain relief, is stylish and looks good in any office. That said, this chair is not made for day to day use of someone up to 500 lbs. as stated in the description. I'm 6'5" and 365 lbs., and I just had to order and installed 6 new wheels for it. One of the wheels broke and sent ball bearings everywhere. Upon looking at the other wheels, they were all ready to do the same. That's after less than a year of 5 days a week use. Better than having to buy a new chair, but be honest with the seller.

I've just received this chair, and I have to say I have concerns. I've been through a lot of chairs in my day, via personal use and assembling them years ago when I was out of high-school, so I'm pretty familiar with a lot of different qualities. My first concern is with the support for the seat cushion itself, it has a very flimsy feel too it. Now I don't want to say this makes the chair bad at this point, only time will tell. I have had familiar experiences with other seats of this design and found them lacking. My second concern is with the assembly and cylinder. I'm just going to go out there and say it, for a chair that is suppose to support 600lbs, the connection points held in only with some bolts... I'm pretty positive this chair will not hold up. If they aren't the first to go, it's going to be the tilt mechanism that goes. There's nothing special in the design. My third concern is after assembling the chair, and taking into account that I'm very familiar with chair assembly, the whole product has "wiggle room" - The arms of the chair are not firm, and the tilt mechanism already has about a quarter inch slack in it, so I can't even sit straight up, as even in locked position the chair tilts back. So questionable material, loose construction when assembled, and advertising as a heavy duty office chair? I'm sorry, I don't believe it.

The chair is ok. I'm 6'1" and weigh 380lbs. I'm extremely hard on chairs. We'll see how long it lasts. 2 things would make the assembly experience better. The instructions suck but the chair is simple enough to figure out that in the end they're adequate, but barely. The hardware is fine and suitable for the chair but if they had used socket head screws instead of the button heads the allen wrench would not slip out of the screws so easily. The driving hole on a socket head screw is at least twice as deep. One tip. When you install the arms to the seat leave one of them (or both) loose (both screws but more so the back one). If you don't you won't be able to get the back in and you'll just have to loosen them after getting them all tightened up. Ask me how I know. If the chair lasts a while, even six months, I would consider buying it again since the price was right.

It's a shame, because this is *almost* a good chair for the price. Unfortunately, it's completely let down by its rollerblade-style wheels, which look great and roll well, but are cheaply made. After a few months, they started spilling ball bearings (covered in graphite powder lubricant, which gets everywhere) all over the place. And it wasn't just one bad wheel: every single wheel on my chair had this issue, so it's clearly a design problem. Another, much smaller, issue is that the plastic screw covers tend to pop off after a while, but the screws are so recessed you can't see them anyway, so I wouldn't mark it down for that if it was the only issue. Otherwise, the chair is sturdy, fairly comfortable, and has a good piston. If it weren't for the wheels, I would recommend it. But as is, I can't. If you want this chair, I recommend going ahead and buying quality replacement wheels with it, or just spending more to get a better chair.

My wife and I did a lot of research and found this chair online. We found it on Amazon for the lowest price. Highly recommend. I am 6'1" and 250+ lbs. Fits me so well. Feels sturdy, and has great support. I can totally tell the difference between my previous Big and Tall chair. Assembly was very easy. The faux leather material is soft and plush; not breathable if that matters. The wheels do move well; so well, that you may find that it moves too easily. I guess that depends on how you move your legs while sitting in the chair. I really love the back support and arms on this chair. Very happy & would purchase again from this supplier.
