As a single person who has a smoothie every day, this is a very useful container. People have bemoaned the hollow handle, but it hasn't affected my use of it at all. People have said the top is too hard to put on and take off, but I don't try to force it, all I do is put it on there tight enough so liquid doesn't come splashing out. This container has been a real game changer for me. I also do a lot of blending, mixing and chopping in my Vitamix, and it has always been a real pain to get everything out from the sides and the bottom, since the standard container was so deep. With this one, it's a lot shorter, so it can fit under my cabinets when it's sitting on the base. I can also now get down inside there with a standard scraper and get almost everything out, something that was almost impossible before. And it is just big enough to make the perfect size smoothie for me. All in all, this was a big win - a little pricey, as everything Vitamix is, but it is well worth the investment. ... show more

New & improved--Better than the original 48 oz container that came with our 5200C Vitamix base MANY years ago. It's a little shorter so it fits under our cabinet -- a big plus. Also, it's super easy to clean--just wash AND dry it after use--container still looks brand new. Thank you Vitamix.

There is NO other blender that performs like the vitamix. Coming from a family that makes smoothies daily (with nuts, frozen fruit, etc) this blender can blend anything into a smooth consistency. We have the 6 cup size and it is perfect for 3 solo cup sized smoothies for my husband and kiddos in the mornings. Although a Vitamix is really easy to clean, just a drop of dishwashing liquid and some hot water, and let it churn on high for a few minutes, sometimes even that is too much bother. Especially if you've used the Vitamix to make some fabulous margaritas that you want to drink right that minute, and you know you're not going to be in the mood to clean it out AFTER the margarita! It's great having an extra carafe, especially in the smaller size. One thing I've noticed with this size, is that it doesn't make as much of a mess going all the way to the top, when you've got it on high. For me that's important because sometimes I don't always have the lid on exactly as it should be, too much of a hurry for those margaritas, haha! I hadn't realized how much my old carafe had faded until getting this new one. It's like getting a facelift for your Vitamix. I did wait a few days with it in my cart, and noticed how the price fluctuated. I think it was 110 when I bought it, much better price than anywhere else in 2020. ... show more

First, I have the Professional Series. If you have a different model, I imagine that the bases are structured similarly, about the same base height from the counter top and probably the same grooves, etc. where the pitcher sits. However, unless someone with your specific model answers your question about whether it fits that model, there is no way for a customer to be able to answer your question accurately. The fastest and best way to get your answer about whether it works for your model machine is to call the Vitamix company (google them) and ask them directly. I understand that they have a great customer service department. Also, this is a WET container. DRY containers specifically are described as DRY containers. The blades are different in the two types. You will not break the wet container trying to make peanut butter, but you will not get the results you want. If you would like to grind your own oat flour and make lots of peanut butter, just buy a DRY container. By default, unless a container is advertised as DRY, it is a WET container. On to the review: If you use your Vitamix enough to keep it on the counter, then it's worth the money to have the pitcher that fits so that you don't have to house the pitcher elsewhere, especially if you have limited cabinet/counter space. It functions as well as the original pitcher. They should just sell this one as the standard pitcher...but then Vitamix wouldn't be able to make the additional sale on the second pitcher.
