Just going on 2 months of having the Vitamix Ascent 3, and I couldn't be happier. It cleans up so well, with a drop of dish soap and warm water. It has it's own cycle for that. I do have to clean the lid separately, depending on what I've made. That's not a problem at all. It blends up so many different veggies and fruit with ease. The value of creating easy sauces out of cashews etc is phenomenal. Looked at many different models, and the functionality of this Vitamix Ascent 3 works for my needs wonderfully well. I am absolutely thrilled with this blender’s performance, power, design and ease of use. I make a big batch of ice cream mix every week for my Ninja Creami and my Osterizer blender from the 1950’s was struggling with the density of the recipe which includes bananas, tofu, dates and cashews. It’s so delicious and my family loves it. I was starting to dread making that recipe every week. So I started researching new blenders and settled on this one after all the great reviews. This Vitamix Ascent X3 is incredible! It doesn’t bat an eye at the density of the ingredients (which I layer according to the very clear and simple directions that came with the blender.) Instead of having to go through several cycles with the old blender, this one gets it smooth and creamy in a single cycle. I’ve only used one of the 3 preset programs plus the cleaning program which is amazing. This blender is a joy to use and even fun and easy to clean. It stores perfectly under my kitchen cabinets. I put little felt sticky pads under the bottom to make it easier to slide the machine out from under the cabinets when I use the machine. I love that I can set a program and walk away (it’s noisy but not too noisy. I just walk away or put on headphones. There’s so much to love and nothing I dislike about this blender. ... show more

This is amazing.... I am trying to deal with some health issues and need a way to make smoothies and cook in a small apartment. Has a smaller footprint so it allows me to store it on the tiny tiny cooking area I have rather than put it in storage every time. For the past month I have used it every day. Easy to clean, a little loud however the neighbors havent banged on the walls yet. I bought this one for the ability to add the food prep attachment. Have to clean it in the sink, easy and simple... I am still working on gettting the smoothie recipie right so I have used both the shake and the blend settinging.... I am sure the motor will last me years, rather have a switch than a touch pad for the on off... I would be 4.5 stars for that however am rounding up. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought the Vitamix’s Ascent X3 instead of their most popular blender, the Legacy 5200, because I wanted the 3 blending presets and safety features offered. After 2 months of use I’m generally satisfied.
 10/10 Blending Capability - Coming from a Ninja, the Ascent produces liquids so smooth and thorough that I don’t need to use a sieve anymore. This is the kind of quality you get from dedicated smoothie shops. The video shows the viscosity after using the smoothie preset, but I like my smoothies with less liquid so I highly recommend watching Shouldit blend’s vitamix video to see a very thorough testing of the blades (They use a 5200 but the blade and motor are essentially the same between models). 8/10 Presets - The self cleaning is a bit useless. When I use it immediately after blending, there will still be little remnants of blueberry skin or porridge stuck to the sides and I would have to go in with a sponge. Even when I used ingredients that don’t tend to stick, the self clean didn’t do anything more than what a normal rinse in the sink does. I say it’s only really useful for getting under the blades, and softening any hardened material or mold to later finish cleaning manually. 3.5 cups of warm water were necessary for the cleaning to reach the ceiling of the blender. The other presets (smoothie, frozen dessert, and soup) are great. Perfectly timed and ramp the blender up and down without you needing to touch a thing. However, they are so perfectly timed that they don’t really account for user error. Once I didn’t have my tamper clean and ready until the last 10 seconds so my apple smoothie came out chunky. I put more liquid it in and blended it manually for 10 more seconds and that fixed it, so it’s not the end of the world if you make a mistake. 4/10 Packaging - I thought the blender was used because the end of the electrical cord was wrapped in a torn off piece of bubble wrap tied together with a rubber band, the blender had greasy dirt in places, and the box had no foam or cushioning material besides more cardboard and a thin styrofoam sheet the width of a penny. That type of packaging is unacceptable for a $600+ blender, but customer service and unboxing videos confirmed that this is just how they package it. I honestly don’t know how the device and container weren’t damaged (although I suspect a hairline crack at the base of the container). Finally, the white box that you see in stores was not used, just a brown shipping box with “Vitamix” on it. This is not atypical but again, it’s a $600+ blender. I expected a presentation of better quality, but I can admit that functionality is more important in the grand scheme. 6/10 Safety - The “self detect” just detects whether or not something is covering/partially pressing down on the hole. Meaning there have been times where I don’t fully press the blender into its base but it’s able to turn on and start spinning. I spent the extra money for this model just for the safety and convenience this version offers so that was a disappointment for me. Also, the blending cup tends to slide around in a circle until it gets stuck in a spot it likes. The Ninja has a lock feature that I wish was available here. However, it never fails to start at a power of 1 when used manually and while the on/off switch is in an uncomfortable spot that requires moving the tamper out of the way, I still appreciate that extra level of safety. 9/10 Customization - Once you have the base you can customize the container with a multitude of attachments such as a food processor or a 64 oz container. But I dislike that after their smaller personal containers were recalled for safety issues, they still have not made a new version to purchase. I'd love to have that thermos sized personal adapter for the Ascent X3. ... show more

Finally splurged and got a Vitamix. I love everything about it except I'm constantly adjusting fluids. I can't seem to get the amount right for it to easily blend. I would assume that's operator error, so no fault of Vitamix. Every smoothie I've had out of it has been SMOOTH. I should've upgraded my blender a lot sooner. ... show more
