Vital Whey Natural protein powder tastes good but this is the unsweetened variety so don't expect it to taste like dessert, and it mixes well in a blender and a hand shaker style mixing cup. I make my morning shakes with one cup of either milk or almond milk, two scoops of Vital Whey protein, a tablespoon of Omega Nutrition's High Lignan Nutri-Flax, and a tablespoon of Wederspoon's KFactor Manuka 16 honey, and it does a fantastic job at supressing my appetite for between four to six hours, knocking out all the snacking in between my morning shake and lunch. The fact that this whey is minimally processed and that the milk that the whey comes from is from cows that roam free on pastureland and are 100% grass fed were both big selling points for me. I have dangerously high iron levels in my blood, so the fact that Vital Whey protein is high in lactoferrin is another selling point for me, but lactoferrin helps people with low iron levels as well. I was hoping that this would be the one whey powder that doesn't cause gas and bloating, but unfortunately it's the same as every other whey protein in that regard. That's the only reason I knocked off a star. It is a very high quality whey protein made with Proserum, and for the price is definitely the best value.     • Beginning to doubt it's ability to raise glutathione - seems to have Cystine instead of Cysteine

Having had good results from non-denatured whey product of another company for my fatige / low energy levels, I was looking around to find a better price on good quality non denatured whey concentrate. Upon reading reviews of this product as well as the information on the Well Wisdon company website that this was a minimally processed whey containing good Cysteine (vs the transformed Cystine which not useful for glutathione synthesis), I ordered 3 bags of this product. After a couple of days I noticed that amino acid profile of this product on the company website listed the amino acid "Cystine" instead of the expected "Cysteine". I was concerned since I had just purchased a large amount and called and spoke to the company about this. They assured me that this was just a typo (typographical error) and they will correct it very soon. When after a couple of weeks they had still not updated the amino acid profile I called again and was told that this is on the to-do list of the IT folks and they will get to it soon. Fast forward almost 3 months and I noticed yesterday (8/31) that the amino acid profile on their website still says "Cystine". During the course of taking this product for past 2 months I had begun to doubt the efficacy of this product in raising glutathione levels compared to the brand I was using earlier - so much so that I had ordered my old brand again - even though I have so much of this product still left. Upon going back to my previous brand within a couple of days I started feeling better energy. So I am seriously beginning to doubt that this product is as good as they say it is.     • As close to undenatured as it gets

This is the highest rating I give as I don't trust 5 star reviews. All whey must be heat processed to a certain degree if sold in the U.S. This product is as close to that minimum as possible (71.3 C for 15 seconds). Anything over 73 C greatly reduces the amount of glutathione produced in the body. While it may not be as high in protein as others, that is of secondary importance as to why buy an undenatured whey in the first place. It does not mix easily with milk which means it is a good product. The key to mixing is to add just enough milk to create a "pancake batter" consistency before adding additional milk. Using a blender destroys the benefits. It tastes very natural, however, I like to add chocolate syurp or honey. ... show more

OM-goodness, I have tried the natural vanilla flavor and thought it was good but I must say that the chocolate flavor is really good. This whey protein is packed with organic healthful whey and nutrition which I love but the down side to it is that it does not mix smoothly due to the mix being pure w/o cellulose powder for easy mixing. Be sure to use cool to cold liquids for better mix. Using the mixing bottle with the wisk ball is a real plus for smooth shake. I am too lazy to use a mixer for just one serving each day so I use the Blender Bottle with the round wisk included inside. Its so good for you so get a good mixing gadget and drink these whey. I don't think its too expensive considering its the finest full range biologically active non-denatured whey protein from grass fed year round/hormone treatments free cows. Remember that this whey has immune-modulating and regenerative components naturally occuring in fresh raw milk but we won't have to worry about contracting TB as one may from drinking raw milk. I am diabetic so I can't drink raw milk and take chances with my immune. The ingredients in the Vital Whey: Proserum native whey protein concentrate, natural chocolate, gum acacia, stevia. 35 yr vegetarian. Recently found chocolate and caffeine are causing me gut problems. I ordered chocolate regardless and have no problems drinking this in the morning or afternoon.

My daughter hates protein drinks but this stuff is great. I mix it in her smoothie and even drink it straight myself with a little water. It's also a great value considering I bought some on a different sight and I saved buying 2 1/2 lbs instead of 1 lb enough that it was like getting 1/2lb free.
