I use this to unsolder antique train parts that have eyelets. After unsoldering the wire I am left with a eyelet full of solder. This tool allows me to reheat the part and suck out the solder. I can then rewire with ease. A little pricier than other similar tools but it works great.

    • Sturdy with good suction
This solder sucker works well. It has a nice flexible silicone tip (+ spares) and self-cleans when you reset it. I've used it for rework and removing components from scrap boards with some success- it really comes down to how much time you spend getting good at it.

This has many excellent reviews and for good reason. It is a well-made solder sucker, aluminum body, sturdy spring inside. It works like a champ sucking in, expelling out. One hand does the trick either way. It comes apart easily when you want to clean it. For a few extra dollars it’s well worth it.

compared to the cheaper larger bodied desoldering suction devices, this thing is a beast, it works flawlessly for through hole work. the addition of some desoldering braid and chip quick, and you're sitting pretty for most pcb rework.
