  • If you would like to begin with all blue and end with all ...
If you would like to begin with all blue and end with all blue, you have to set the blue channel (ch1) to ON at the time of your preference BEFORE the whites (ch2) begin and at a time of your preference AFTER the whites end. This will also give you the blue lights while the whites are on throughout the day. For example, I have ch1 (blue) on from 10am (1000)--9pm (2100)... My ch2 (white) runs from 11am (1100) ---8pm (2000). So my ALL Blues run alone one hour before and an hour after. It took me a while to figure out how to run it like this and it is not explained in the manual.. Awesome and powerful light. My 50 gal has only been cyclizing for 2 weeks so I have the intensity at 30% blue and 20% white for now. I wasn't going to drill anything into my ceiling so I used the "Brightsky 24" Aquarium Light Suspension System Tank Bracket Hanging" that I bought here on Amazon.. Its sold in different lengths and worked great for this light. ... show more

  • Pleased.
Finally bit the bullet and bought three of these lights to replace my 72" Aquatic Life that ran 8 ATI T-5's. I have them hanging about 9" above my 120 gallon mixed reef with both channels dialed to 8% as of now (both blue and white channels go to 100). I really like that each unit comes with only one cord, remote, hanging materials and a built in timer. I thought they were fairly easy to set up. One remote works for all three of my units, but you can't use it to control all of them at once; it messes with them. I run all blue from 7 am to 8 am, blue and white from 8 am to 7 pm, and then all blue again from 7 pm to 8 pm. I'll dial up the intensity once I feel comfortable these will not fry my corals that are closer to the top of the water. I tend to like a more blue/purple hue to my tank. I just set them up today so I will adjust and update this review accordingly. ... show more

  • Great light! Even better paired with a Kasa smart plug!
Size: 300W LED Aquarium Light
This review is for the 300w model. I've love this reef/aquarium light (with a few caveats). First and foremost, the settings for best coral growth is: position light 8 inches above the water (or approx 24 inches from the sandbed), set White channel to 7% and Blue channel to 42%. If hanging it from the ceiling, just get metal hooks and screew them into studs in the ceiling. The metal cable/mount system that comes with the light is pretty intuitive and high quality. The 300w light is 16lbs, so I wouldn't trust using drywall anchors to mount it. The remote that comes with the light leaves a lot to be desired. It's low quality, has a short range (maybe 6-8 feet at most) so it's easier to just walk up and turn/push the nobs directly on the light itself. Originally I had used the built-in scheduling to program the light to come on at 9am and turn off at 9pm. However, if you are outside of those hours, you cannot manually just turn it for on-demand viewing. The built-in schedule will restrict you which is super annoying. So instead, I disabled all schedules on the light itself, and plugged into into a "Kasa" smart plug that is set to turn on at 9am and off at 9pm. This allowed me to have the schedule I wanted, but also turn it on/off via the smart plug for on-demand viewing (e.g. like 10pm if I wanted). ... show more

  • ... lights for three weeks and so far they are AWESOME. The corals look beautiful and the color spectrum ...
I've had these lights for three weeks and so far they are AWESOME. The corals look beautiful and the color spectrum is great. I have a 120 gallon tank (62"L x 20W x 22D) and started running them (both channels) at 60% right away. I bought three of them and they replaced a 760 Watt (2x250 HQI's with 4x65 T1 Actinic blues) Odyssey hood I've had for several years but it finally broke and was time to move on to something else. I was a little scarred that the lower total wattage wasn't going to be enough but so far so good and the corals seem to be thriving. Even the torch, frogspawn and brain at the bottom of the tank is doing well. We’ll see where they’re at in another month, especially the corals at the ends of the tank which don’t get quite as much light but I'm not sure it's much different than my last set of lights. If necessary, I’ll just buy one more and I'm sure I'll be fine. Hanging the lights from the ceiling really wasn’t an option so I built a simple wood frame which you can see in the pictures and it works pretty well. I just put half inch molding around the lights so they don’t move. I also put the lights sideways which I think gives pretty good coverage for the tank too. The bottom of the lights are 5.5 inches above the water surface which is lower than recommended but I think it’s fine. Some reviews indicated there were problems with the timers but mine have worked fine and all three lights are holding the same time. Not sure what else to add but if these hold their intensity/PAR values in the coming months/years I’ll be very happy. For the money and the fact I don’t have to replace bulbs every 6-months, I think they are a great investment too. ... show more
