This VINWOX 6" Wood Lathe Steel Faceplate fits the 1X8TPI Headstock spindle on both of my Vintage Delta Rockwell Lathes. I have been looking for a heavy steel faceplate for my machine for sometime now to no avail. I was fortunate enough to find the VINWOX Faceplate on Amazon's Website, it is well designed and very functional. It seems like it is difficult to find 1:8 Steel faceplates, I really don't think Rockwell or Delta made to many of them in the many years of production. The larger six inch Steel Faceplate secures larger pieces much better than the thin metal faceplates that came with my Lathes originally. This 6" Vinwox faceplate is exactly what I needed for my rather primitive old lathe, since I'm just getting interested in turning bowls and larger blocks rather than the long turnings I've done for various purposes in the past. The faceplate is beautifully machined, the chamfered holes provide for securing different sizes of blanks, the faceplate threaded perfectly onto the 1" 8tpi shaft, and it runs very true. Flats on either side make it easy to tighten and remove from the lathe using wrenches, and the two Allen screws to secure it are the same size as those on my other chucks. I'm really pleased with this additional attachment for my lathe, and will definitely look at this brand again for other sizes as they're needed. ... show more

I got this faceplate to work with my antique WF & J Barnes #6 lathe. This faceplate is well made out of good quality material. Fit and finish are excellent. It was a perfect fit on my 1"-8tpi spindle. Very sturdy construction. Plenty of holes for mounting workpieces. With reasonable care, this faceplate should last a lifetime. This is the perfect size for my lathe. I have a small lathe and this is perfect as it allows me to make attachments and still be able to use the machine and turn a bowl. With the different locations of the hole I am not limited to a small foot print holding the wood anymore and the quality of the face plate is of a nice quality metal and sturdy. In the interest of full disclosure, as a trusted and unbiased amazon reviewer, I was able to request this product free of charge. Well machined face plate. It is steel, thick, and has good weight. Although it is CNC machined, this is not noticeable. I became aware of this by accident. There was a small spot which I rubbed off with my nail, and if I paid attention, I could feel the ridges which are extremely fine. Most importantly it threads easily and runs very true. There are two sets of concentric holes for mounting blanks (6 each). This allows you to fit a wide variety of turning blanks. A nice feature are the two flats which take a wrench which makes it easier to remove. The large face plate that came with my lathe doesn't have this feature. All in all, a good product which will compliment your other lathe accessories. ... show more

Sometimes you need to secure a piece on the lathe where a tenon or a spur center just isn't practical or strong enough. This faceplate fills that need. Very well made and polished. The 1x8 thread is smooth and fits without play or friction. Seems strong enough to last forever. If you turn on a lathe, you know you need this faceplate. A couple sizes are handy, and I needed this 2" faceplate for smaller turnings. Work perfectly. Excellent quality for the money. ... show more

VINWOX’s 4" faceplate, with 3/4”x16TPI spindle thread, is well machined and balanced. It has a good finish, runs true, has nicely formed threads, and was delivered free of rust. It runs smoothly even at high speed. At a hefty weight of 1.85 pounds, it fits my wood lathe securely and without any problems. The rear of the plate where it attaches to the lathe has flats to hold a wrench to help in removing it from the spindle. The faceplate has two concentric rings of six holes of approximately 1/4-inch diameter connected with circular grooves to help with centering. The backside of the holes in the plate are chamfered and the bore’s threads start about 1/3-inch inside the bore to allow easy mounting of the faceplate to the spindle. The plate portion of the faceplate is 0.44-inches thick. This faceplate is a nice product and improves the usefulness of my lathe. ... show more
