It's true that the clock is plastic. However, it looks really good on a wall and it's hard to tell. The main advantage is that it is not heavy and is easy to mount in a wall. The mechanism is silent and the time is accurate. Many reviews talk about difficulty attaching the pendulum. The piece has a slight notch that needs to be "pressed down" into the slot and not just pushed into the slot. Quite easy, just need some attention to detail. Perhaps I did not pay attention or it wasn’t listed that it’s not made out of wood. Was a gift, but I can’t possibly gift this. I’ll just pay more for a proper wood and metal crafted clock.

The clock actually looks nice on the wall however it’s like a piece of distressed plastic. In fact I couldn’t even attach the pendulum, just kept falling off. Price too high for what you’re getting.

This is not a high-end piece, light molded plastic, and, pro-tip, had to literally use thread to tie the delivered pendulum to the swinger attachment because I couldn't get it to click into the swinger-thingy (advice from another reviewer) and it wouldn't stay attached. But it's adorable, and as an extra clock for the guest room, it gets the job done. This is the smaller model in white. Yes, for this space, may have been better with the larger model, but this will do fine. ... show more

You aren't getting a wood clock. You can tell it's not one (not that the company is pretending it is, or anything lol.) It makes a room look better, in my opinion!
