I needed a filing cabinet for my office and I liked that this one came with glass cabinets for extra storage for books and things. It’s pretty sturdy (not sure why people mentioned it wasn’t) and I did not attach it to the wall but if I had young children, I might. I found it pretty easy to put together by myself. I did have to stabilize the doors with a small paper wedge to screw in the hinges, so I would recommend two people for that part. Overall for the price, I definitely would recommend it. (Side note - I did check and count all parts before I started because some mentioned missing parts and I have experienced that before with other items so I learned my lesson on doing the work before checking! Purchased 2 black cabinets for my office, selecting these because they are modern and attractive. For some reason I thought they would be lighter, but they are every bit 110lbs. I experienced a bit of a strain lifting the first one out of the car and onto my flatbed dolly but that resolved with some ibuprofen. (I’m a lady nearly 50.) It took me 20-30 minutes more that the instructions indicated to assemble with my drill. (More than 3 hours each.) I’ve previously assembled 26 other furniture items and typically in less time than the instructions indicate. Directions were largely correct except in dissembling the drawer slide - it was a grammatical error than slowed me down and forced me to google a video for help. In a perfect world you’d have a 2nd person when attaching the doors. I don’t love the 1/8” gap between the doors but maybe that’s just being picky about an inexpensive product. Overall this is a sturdy item, however the bottom of the drawer gives a little if you lay files in the drawer instead of hanging them as intended. The black cabinet really shows fingerprints. I considered purchasing a third cabinet but decided against it because of the time required for assembly. ... show more

This item is absolute garbage. I ignored other reviews and paid for it. The handles were missing. One of the screws snapped in half putting it in. When I tried to slide it the bottom frame came loose from the wood and tore the particle boards to crumbles. The top shelving unit had little screw bolt things that snapped out of the particle board and can no longer attach to the drawer until. If this is supposed to hold books then I should be able to slide it from the spot I built it over to the wall without it falling apart like a house of cards. I contacted the seller when I realized pieces were missing and still have not heard anything. Now that the entire unit is a steaming hot wreck I don’t know what to do with it. ... show more

I bought the VINGLI Wood Lateral File Cabinet With Bookshelf With Glass Doors And Adjustable Shelves for my home and I am very happy with it. It has a lockable drawer and two adjustable shelves behind the glass doors. The glass doors are easy to clean and add a touch of sophistication. The assembly was not too difficult, and the instructions were clear and detailed. The only minor issue I had was that the lock was a bit stiff at first, but it loosened up after a few uses. I've been looking for something like this for a long time because I'm sick of pet fur getting all over my books. The item was well packaged and secure, all parts were present and the instructions were so easy to follow. I'm a 32yo (F) and put it together by myself in about three hours.

Once put together its sturdy. Was easy enough to put together but while assembling a few of the board pieces broke off where the nail was supposed to go with nothing done wrong on my part. So I had to get wood glue to fix it. I had contacted the seller and it took almost 3 days to get back to me. At that point the wood glue set and i had already given up on it. The outer appearance was not affected by the screw parts breaking off. Other than that it is currently holding 40 plus 2 pound snow globes. it shakes sometimes when cats jump up on it but it does its job well. Pretty easy to assemble once you realize the steps aren’t in order of part of the cabinet. Two of us put it together in about an hour. What’s time consuming is adjusting the doors so there isn’t a huge gap in the middle. File cabinet lock works good but wouldn’t use it for anything that’s actually important because this thing could be smashed easily but for regular things like taxes and other mundane paperwork it’ll work well. ... show more
