I needed a filing cabinet for my office and I liked that this one came with glass cabinets for extra storage for books and things. It’s pretty sturdy (not sure why people mentioned it wasn’t) and I did not attach it to the wall but if I had young children, I might. I found it pretty easy to put together by myself. I did have to stabilize the doors with a small paper wedge to screw in the hinges, so I would recommend two people for that part. Overall for the price, I definitely would recommend it. (Side note - I did check and count all parts before I started because some mentioned missing parts and I have experienced that before with other items so I learned my lesson on doing the work before checking! Purchased 2 black cabinets for my office, selecting these because they are modern and attractive. For some reason I thought they would be lighter, but they are every bit 110lbs. I experienced a bit of a strain lifting the first one out of the car and onto my flatbed dolly but that resolved with some ibuprofen. (I’m a lady nearly 50.) It took me 20-30 minutes more that the instructions indicated to assemble with my drill. (More than 3 hours each.) I’ve previously assembled 26 other furniture items and typically in less time than the instructions indicate. Directions were largely correct except in dissembling the drawer slide - it was a grammatical error than slowed me down and forced me to google a video for help. In a perfect world you’d have a 2nd person when attaching the doors. I don’t love the 1/8” gap between the doors but maybe that’s just being picky about an inexpensive product. Overall this is a sturdy item, however the bottom of the drawer gives a little if you lay files in the drawer instead of hanging them as intended. The black cabinet really shows fingerprints. I considered purchasing a third cabinet but decided against it because of the time required for assembly. ... show more

Absolutely terrible quality, I don't know what item the reviewers who say the quality is good received, but it wasn't the same one I got. The pieces are so flimsy I can't even call them particleboard - pressed cardboard maybe. I could see how nails and screws wouldn't catch, but would go right through the edges and sides. In addition, the "metal" feet are made of a very thin sheet of rolled aluminum; I could bend them with my hands. I thought I was getting an IKEA grade piece of furniture, but it's way worse than that. We packed this up immediately to return it, but of course, that can't be a good quality interaction either. The seller won't pay for the return for quality issues. Because this item is so heavy, the return cost for shipping is astronomical. Buyer beware, and buy something else that the seller will stand behind. If you can't return something, DON'T BUY IT. ... show more

Our first impressions after spending nearly 4 hours putting it together was great! However, the process of putting it together was insane. The instructions showed numbers on the pieces, but the numbers were not on the actual pieces at all, only the metal hardware. We did not use the filing system for the drawer because we’re using it for additional storage, but it turned out great! Assembly is our only complaint. The back is flimsy though so definitely be weary if you are wanting something with a more sturdy backing on it. This did not bother us as we’re just putting books in it anyways. ... show more

I've been looking for something like this for a long time because I'm sick of pet fur getting all over my books. The item was well packaged and secure, all parts were present and the instructions were so easy to follow. I'm a 32yo (F) and put it together by myself in about three hours.

I had high hopes for this purchase but from the start it has been terrible. Received tracking for it 11/28. By 12/5 the item still had not made it to the carrier. Seller gave me $6 and reshipped another one. New one arrived within a few days but as I opened the box and started pulling out pieces I realized then I made a mistake in purchasing this for my home office. This cabinet is pretty much particle board. I have no idea how it is supposed to hold up. The metal and plastic pieces to it are a different color white than the particle board parts making it look really cheap. If you just need a cabinet to get you by, this may work. If you wanted something nice to compliment your office, I would definitely avoid. I wish I could return but I’m not about to take this thing apart.
