  • Sweet sounding little amp
I have the SV 500 from Vincent and love the sound. It has replaced a couple of very high $$$$$ all-tube amps I used before, one a push pull 6550, and the other a 300b SET. As near as I can tell this is a simplified and lower power version of the same circuit. It takes awhile to settle in, but now has that sweet sound of the 500 in a smaller package. While smaller, it still has plenty of heft to it. Both are keepers for me. There is a switch on the back to vary the amount of backlight in the window, but I switch it off so you can better see the filament glow. Tubes are 6N1-P, with Russian markings from the Voskhod Svetlana factory on mine, with a gold rocket ship logo. This same tube is used in much more expensive high end amps. They are somewhat similar to the 6dj8/6922, but are NOT interchangeable with those types. A closer US type match is the 6BQ7A. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great little amp
This amp has great sound you expect out of the box. Very detail in hi and mid. Also enough punch at the bass. I am pairing it with KEF R3 and WiiM by optical cable using the build in DAC. Just 2 days ago. I replaced the OEM tube with 2 GE 6BZ7 / 6BQ7A vacuum tubes NOS. It sounds fantastic. The hi and mid got smoothed a little and bass are still strong. It was a big improvement from previous Emotiva A2.i am considering the Vincent 237 MK2 for the next setup in the living room which has much bigger space. ... show more

  • This unit packs a punch
I have been wanting to get into the tube amp game for a while, and was familiar with german based Vincent Audio buy friends who had their PHO-701, as well as reviews on other products of theirs. I have been wanting to get into the tube amp game for a while, without spending thousands on hype. I was looking at the sv-500 as well as this sv-200 and ultimately decided to pull the trigger on the sv-200 as I didn't really need the power of the sv-500, i also love the look of this unit. I'm running the Music Hall 2.3se loaded with a Nagaoka mp-110 cartridge into the Vincent PHO-300 into this sv-200 (which are all powered through a panamax MR4000 conditioner.) What a fantastic unit this is. at 25w per channel this unit has zero issues driving my Klipsch rb61-II reference speakers. I like the that this is integrated as the phono signal runs through 2 tubes and is processed out through solid state which drives the speakers. The warmth and the clarity of this unit is top notch, and coupled with the PHO-300 is bringing out detail and nuances that I wasn't able to hear with my emotiva-ta100 integrated amp. I have yet to get even close to maximum volume, at just over half way the clarity remains with no distortion. wonderful product. The unit is suprisingly heavy for its size (around 14lbs) and is well built. I like the fact this come with a remote which is also machined out of aluminum. if you are budget minded and are worried about dropping $1000 on this unit, do yourself a favor and jump in it. you'll be so glad you did. ... show more
