Sizes run true to size. I got her an XL so she could run layers but I belive a large would work well if you didn't want to do that. Shes 5'2" at 165 lbs. I love the quality of this coat! It is what I was looking for. The zipper feels sturdy. It looks classy. I knocked off one star on the review because the color that is shown in the photos did not translate to what I expected to see in person. I was hoping for a nice dark purple color, as shown in the photos. The color that I received (midnight), was a very very dark blue, almost black color. That being said, even I couldn't get a good photo of the actual color. But I did try, and have included the images with my review. The hood has a black border, so you can tell that the main part of the coat isn't black. I'd still recommend this coat, as it's a wonderful coat. Spend the extra cash, you won’t regret it. It’s so warm. Warmer than I expected. Just the right length I was looking for to n my stature. The inner jacket zipper makes it even better with options. I would probable size down 1 if I were purchasing again. I thought with my DD Chest I needed to size up but I didn’t. There is enough room. I’m keeping my size too because I know I’m going to be bundled up with many layers for Spring and Fall outdoor sports. ... show more

I rarely post reviews, but absolutely love this coat! I’m 5’3” and the length is great because I wanted a maxi length winter coat for the freezing temps and snowy winters in Chicago. Love the design and the velvet lined pockets, too!
