I love the biometrics on it .. very sleek and fast to get into.. im guessing in and out in less then 15 secs or possibly 10 secs.. but the led light that is built in is a huge bonus.. i have another biometric safe and it does not have the led light and i have to use my ball cap light just to see what im grabbing and this led light gives you enough light to see on all shelves as well..Thick gauge steel and is very solid and a must have for the homeowner who has either guns/medicine/or just precious metals/and coin collections etc.. it has room for all of these things. and the shelves are interchangeable and have a carpet covering to dampen the sounds of putting your kilo bars of silver in it or a gun if need be..so if you had an intruder then he wouldnt hear you getting your gun out of the safe..lol,,, but this is the fastest kind of safe for quick draws or bugging out or to keep family collectibles,stocks and bonds or legal documents for quick access..like in my case i have custody of my daughter and i keep my custody order in there along with medical info and and highly important documents as well as passports ans visas.. The only thing that i see that is not good is the light duty plastic shelf and clips . just had a few broken clips for the shelves and some paint/powder coat scratched off from shipping but i am now waiting on the seller to send me some touch up paint and a few more clips.. they give you some for extras but i had to use most of them.. but after i get it touched up and and have spare clips for future moves..then i will say It was the best safe ive ever bought..lol so seller if you see my request please respond back so i can mount this thing already..lol waiting on the touch up paint and a few more shelf clips.. ... show more

    • Great biometric safe with keypad/key entry. Fingerprint scanner works flawlessly if programmed correctly!
I purchased on 1/21/16 and shipped the next day. Received it within a week which is great for a heavy item like this. It arrived it great shape with no dents or scratches. I used the manual from the Viking website. The keys to get in work great. Programming the code for the buttons was easy. I had a hard time at first programming my fingerprint because I tried to just place my fingertip on the scanner. Once I put my fingertip all the way up in the sensor instead of just the fingertip I had no problem registering 4 fingerprints with multiple angles. That's the tip right there to register multiple angles for each fingertip. After that it has worked flawlessly and I am almost 50 years old. I really like the fact that I can get in the safe three different ways. Don't expect it to be thick like a bank vault but it is thick enough for your firearm or valuables. It would take hours to pry this thing open. The light and adjustable shelves are a great addition. The only thing I would add is a back lit keypad and this thing would be perfect. As long as it keeps working I consider this safe a steal for the price compared to the others I have looked at. The Biometric Store has great customer service as they answer questions promptly and even contacted me if I had any more questions or if I had any issues. I wish other companies cared about my satisfaction like The Biometric Store/Viking does! ... show more

Overall this is a pretty good safe for basic consumer document storage - I wouldn’t trust the Crown Jewels to it, but it’s fine for its intended purpose. The things I like - solid construction, documents will fit in it, even if they’re in folders. The shelves are decent, the biometric lock is responsive, and it’s easy to setup. The one thing that torques me is that the stated dimensions does not account for the additional 1/2” that the control pad adds. The space I wanted to put this in was exact to the advertised depth in the product description. The control pad wrecked my grand plan, but the safe was good enough to keep and place elsewhere. ... show more

My wife and I love using this to store our sensitive documents and data. I love how I can set this up with a biometric scanner so that my wife and I can access it and how I don't need to remember a password. I've used mine for 5+ years and didn't need to change the batteries in it, yet. So, power consumption is very minimal. I've recently lost my keys during a move and had to get replacement keys and the customer service was great over email. ... show more

Works perfectly! I use the finger print reader mostly and haven't had an issue. One comment - This unit does have a key to access, but it really isn't meant for everyday use. You have to take a small plate off with an included Allen wrench to access the key hole. It is really intended for 'emergency use.' But if you plan to use the code or finger print for regular access it is awesome! One suggestion - it would be nice if you could have multiple codes the way you can have multiple finger prints. First of all, this is a great safe. I have had it for 5 years and opened it almost every morning to take things out and every evening to put them back away. The fingerprint sensor works great and saves tons of time - I'd be likely to resist using it if I had to enter a code or take much time to open it. Bolted to the wall, it gives me a great sense of security. Also, the customer service by the company has been stellar. I recently had an issue (most likely caused by my error) and they responded to my emails promptly and made it easy to find a solution. I'm grateful that they have been able to help me even though I've had the safe so long. ... show more
