  • Great handheld and great for remote play. Love the solid built and great graphics
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely loving the abxylute handheld for some great gaming time! The build is solid, and the graphics are spot-on. I'd say I'm more of a casual gamer, mostly hopping on the PlayStation for some big titles or dabbling in indie games on the computer or Switch when I've got the time. It was all the PlayStation Portal hype that got me thinking about remote play, especially when I'm on the move and not at home. I stumbled upon this one in a Reddit thread, and after a few days of tinkering, it delivers exactly what it promises with fantastic quality. Exceeded my expectation! Design: This thing is sleek, just about the size of a Switch but with a nice curve on the back that makes it comfy to hold. The Amazon's package was big, but if you stick to the case they provide, it doesn't hog space in your bag. Overall, the design is on point, no cheap plastic vibes. I'm not a fan of that blue joystick though, but it pairs nicely with the blue lights. Buttons: I don't play a ton of action or shooter games, but for the games I do play, the D-pad and ABXY buttons are more than okay. I dig those big shoulder buttons; they're super comfy to press. Gaming Experience: Overall, it's a winner for remote play. Setting up Steam Link and PS Remote Play was easy, and I hardly notice any latency in most of my play sessions. I even took it home for Christmas holiday, a good 150 miles away, and it worked out well! I started to play Rachet&Clank and did not feel lag or stutter (just for reference, I've got around 500 Mbps internet at my place, and at home, it's around 100 Mbps). I didn't bother with that forum advice about plugging the PS5 into a wired connection for better results, but the current setup suits me just fine. I also turned off the TV at my place and play on the handheld before bed. One thing I really appreciate is that a lot of text that's kinda hard to read on a TV looks super crisp on the handheld. I especially love the screen's colors and details; it's absolutely brilliant!! On top of that, I tried Xbox Game Pass for cloud gaming on this device for the first time. Phones are a tad too small for me, but this handheld's just right. No need to download, which is super convenient. It lets me dive into many Game Pass games I haven't had a chance to explore yet. This device has expanded my gaming time, and I'm looking forward to more gaming action. Pros: - Fantastic display. I love the screen (again :D) - Setup is pretty straightforward, even for someone like me who's not totally familiar with Android system. Remote playing is a breeze. (quick tip: during my initial search I also found a few tutorials and demos from gamers on YouTube for setting up, definitely worth checking out.) - Solid craftsmanship; it's a good-looking handheld. Cons: - I noticed that when downloading certain apps from Google Play, it defaults to mobile rather than tablet, which makes them only run in portrait mode. - A bit more power would be great for running more Android games. - Charging isn't exactly speedy; it takes a while to go from 0% to 100%. I haven't timed it precisely, but having a fast-charging option would be nice. ... show more

  • Woefully disappointing...
I was so stoked to get this. Great screen size, and I was looking for something specifically for streaming only. Should be perfect, right? That's what I thought, too.... The fit and finish are pretty good. There were a couple tiny gaps, but nothing major. It is very light and fairly comfortable to hold, but less so if you're lying on your back since the sides will dig into your hands a bit. I found it to be extremely comfortable when sitting, however. The screen is amazing. Clear, bright, and easy to read. Perfect for my older eyes. The buttons are quite nice, too. The sticks are... OK. The caps feel weirdly chalky and don't have a lot of grip. Putting some grips over the top of them would be ideal. The processor is very slow - even so much that the menu navigation feels laggy sometimes. But, since it's for streaming and nothing else, that shouldn't be an issue, right? So, why 3 stars? As I said, I wanted to do one single thing with this - the thing that it's designed for. The very first app I loaded up was Xbox Game Pass (cloud streaming.) Started streaming a game, and it looked great! But then I noticed the sound... When playing games on Game Pass, the audio pops and crackles constantly. And there is the occasional video hiccup as well. The video hiccups aren't too bad, but the constant audio popping is horrible. I looked for others with this issue and found more people complaining about it - and there's no known workaround. Super disappointing. I should mention that I have other handhelds that stream Xbox GP with zero issues on the same network. It's definitely limited to the Abxylute. Other streaming services work fine. Tried Moonlight and that worked flawlessly. Didn't setup PS5 streaming since why bother since I'm going to return it. Bottom line, though, is that if you're planning on doing Xbox Game Pass streaming, move along. The constant audio issues prevent it from being fun, IMHO. Shame, really, since I absolutely love this handheld otherwise. ... show more

  • Cheap analog joysticks
Average usage 3 hours every other day...1 week later; breaking spring noise but operational. 3 weeks later can not strafe left or right. Right analog joystick has begun to make breaking spring noises. Sending back
Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2024 by The technology works. Does what it says it does. However, the left analog stopped working with minimal usage in 3 weeks. The right analog is making a breaking spring sond also. I must send it back unfortunately.

  • Great handheld!
So I got this instead of the Logitech gcloud because of the price! The battery life is great, it's fairly light weight. It does need a little bit more grip on the back to let my fingers rest. I got it to play cloud games and mobile games but unfortunately you cannot play COD mobile with the built-in buttons and triggers. At least it doesn't have that feature to set it up (labs-key mapping). They really should update that because I do not want to be playing touch screen when I got this device to play with the feature Logitech has. Edit: contacted abxylute, and they unfortunately have no software to allow the built in buttons/triggers for mobile games. Logitech gcloud does have that feature "key mapping". If I'd known this I'd probably get the gcloud. I'm hoping that they'll add that feature in the future but that's a long shot. ... show more

  • Thought it was something different
Wasn't what I thought it would be basically a tablet with controls attached to it I thought it was more of a system Instead of a tablet Good quality video on it though but not worth it for the priceI could buy a tablet at Walmart for $80 and an old xbox controller and I would have saved money
