I got my player on sale for $30. All I can say is you get what you pay for. It works and is very easy to use. Setting it up is easy and idiot proof, just plug it into a power source and it’s good to go. However the tonearm (at least for my player) isn’t properly balanced which causes my records to skip or repeat a certain part, no matter how clean and scratch free the record is. I was able to balance it by putting a dime on the stylus and it did fix skipping but this can damage the record over time. Next, the sound quality. The sound quality is awful, which isn’t surprising since this player was very cheap so you can’t expect amazing sound quality from the built-in speakers it comes with. EDIT: this player does come with RCA jacks which allows for external speaker connectivity. Depending on how good the sound quality of your speakers are, you can improve the overall sound quality of the player. I recently picked up some speakers from a pre-black friday sale and I prefer the sound quality from my external speakers way more than the crappy built-in speakers. I don’t hate it but don’t love it either. I don’t spin records often and upon buying it, I was just looking for something that works. It’s easy to travel with and doesn’t waste much room which is nice, especially since I’m a college student trying to save space in their dorm. It’s nice how this comes with bluetooth connectivity so I can use this as a speaker as well. But once again, the sound quality is trash so it’s not the best speaker. Overall, it’s an okay product. With that being said, if you’re a newbie with a small selection of records with no plans plan on playing them super often and you’re just looking for something that works, then this is an okay purchase. However if you’re looking for overall better quality, save up for a better turntable, such as an Audio Technica LP-60x (the most budget friendly player of decent quality) which retails for $150. ... show more

I bought one for a gift and then I bought one for me. I think it's great! It plays 3 speeds and it's simple to set up. I am sure it has the same quality as the player i had as a kid and if you want more you can add external speakers which is why I only gave it a 4 on sound quality because some people are more choosy about their sound quality than I am for y old scratchy records. ... show more

This was a birthday gift for my 12 year old granddaughter. It was high on her wish list, and didn't disappoint! From my perspective, the quality is excellent, it is well made, colorful, and sturdy. From her perspective, it is easy to use, and she loves the fact she can stream music to it AND play vinyl records. The speakers work very well. The sound quality is quite good and you can turn it way up. I would consider it "easy for beginners", because she is 12 years old, and has no trouble streaming from her phone or using it for vinyl. So, this record player lasted 13 months. That's something. I got another Victrola & it only lasted 4 months. So. that's $100 total that I could've used to buy a decent record player. Your mainly paying for the aesthetic of it. The parts of it that are used to play records look & feel cheap. Google Victrola record players before buying & you'll see tons of articles.
