  • Classic look, modern sound
Color: Walnut Style: Century Core
I love the retro look of this so much! So cool that it plays both records and bluetooth. It was incredibly easy to set up right out of the box. A hit!

  • MID-CENTURY VIBES, EASY BLUETOOTH, AND HOURS OF DAILY PLAY
Color: Walnut Style: Century Core
I recently became a full-blown vinyl fanatic. I have a higher-end turntable for serious listening, but wanted something simpler for my office that I could use all day without fuss. This is nostalgia in a box. The walnut cabinet and fabric speaker grille nail the mid-century modern look. SETUP/USE: * Very easy to use right out of the box. It plays 33, 45 and 78 RPM records and the tonearm is fully manual, so you place it on the record yourself. It does stop automatically when it reaches the dead wax. * The best feature for me is the two-way Bluetooth. I've easily paired it with my AirPods Pro and Beats Pill for listening to vinyl, and I also connect my iPhone and play Amazon Music through the built-in speakers. * It also has RCA line out and a headphone jack, so there are plenty of ways to expand beyond the built-in speakers. SOUND/PLAYBACK: * Sound quality from the built-in speakers is very good considering everything is stuffed into one wooden box. My Beats Pill has more bass and sounds better overall, but that's almost beside the point. This thing looks nostalgic and sounds a little nostalgic too. I like that. * I have mine connected to a beefy SVS sub plus another speaker across the room and it sounds great. * I have had occasional skipping, but so far it has been associated with dusty/scratched records rather than anything consistent with the player. QUALITY: * Fit and finish are good, not great, but the whole unit feels solid and clean. The controls are simple and everything has worked reliably. * The inexpensive replaceable stylus is another plus. Replacements are readily available, and with the ridiculous number of hours I'm putting on this thing, I've been swapping mine frequently. * I've used it for about three weeks now, several hours almost every day, with no issues. Can't speak to longterm durability, however. VALUE: * At $129.99 I think it's slightly overpriced, mainly because you don't have to spend dramatically more to move into some of Victrola's upgraded models with fancier conical styluses. * On the other hand, if you specifically want the Century Core for its mid-century modern looks, it delivers. PRO TIP: * I added little remote-controlled LED lights inside the cabinet for maximum nighttime vibez. OVERALL: * BUY. A great everyday record player with classic looks, easy Bluetooth, and enjoyable sound. Mine is getting hours of use every day. Would buy again. ... show more

  • Enjoy your records again, wirelessly
Color: Walnut Style: Century Core
This record player is not going to be the center of your high dollar audiophile setup and if you go in with those expectations you are going to disagree with this review. This is however a great audio system for a small to medium sized room that will let you enjoy old and new records, and it has the extra trick up its sleeve that you can stream your records to nearby Bluetooth speakers, or you can use your phone to stream to the record player’s own speakers. Most Bluetooth devices are either source or sink, it is very interesting to find one that is both. This is a very attractive device, the wood grain veneer cabinet combines with metal and fabric accents to create a premium look and feel that goes well with just about any decor - ours lives in our den and looks great. The sound quality is very good, it nicely fills the room and in an open floor plan home even does a decent job covering multiple rooms. You don’t get real stereo separation from this device since all the sound comes from a relatively compact unit, but most won’t notice this - they will notice the bass heavy tone and lack of distortion even at higher volumes. Bluetooth connectivity works well, we were able to connect a phone across the house and stream to speakers on a different floor. There are some cons, to be sure. The record player does not have an automatic tone arm or any method of playing more than one record in a row. If you are playing 45s, you are getting out of your seat every three minutes. At $130 at time of ordering, this is a fair value for money given all of the different functionality. I have not gotten a chance to test the long term durability of the product but am very happy with all the features and how it looks in my home. If you are treating this as a fun way to listen to records with bonus Bluetooth capabilities, this is easily a five star item, and I would definitely order again. ... show more

  • Beautiful Record Player with a Classic Look and Modern Features
Color: Walnut Style: Century Core
This record player has a beautiful vintage-inspired appearance that gives it plenty of character. The walnut finish looks warm and classic, making it a piece that can fit naturally into a living room, bedroom, or music area. I really like the way it combines the nostalgic look of a traditional turntable with the convenience of modern technology. The three-speed turntable is a great feature for anyone who enjoys collecting and listening to vinyl. Having multiple speed settings provides flexibility for playing different records without needing a separate setup. There is something especially enjoyable about putting on a record and listening to music in a more traditional way. I also appreciate the Bluetooth capabilities because they make the player much more versatile. Being able to connect wirelessly means it can be used for more than just vinyl, while Bluetooth output provides additional listening options. The built-in stereo speakers are convenient when you simply want to enjoy your music without connecting extra equipment. The additional headphone and RCA outputs are another nice touch. They give you the option to listen privately or connect the record player to a larger audio system when you want a different listening experience. Having so many connection choices makes this feel like a much more capable piece of equipment than a basic record player. Overall, this is a beautiful combination of vintage aesthetics and modern functionality. The walnut finish gives it a timeless appearance, while the three-speed turntable, Bluetooth connectivity, built-in speakers, and additional outputs make it remarkably versatile. It is a great choice for someone who wants the enjoyment of vinyl without giving up the conveniences of contemporary audio technology. ... show more

  • Great look and good sound from a value brand
Color: Walnut Style: Century Core
We've owned three other Victrola record players (Eastwood II, Journey II, and Quincy) and this is probably my second favorite, with the Quincy being top. Since this is the Core version, it doesn't include a CD player, but if it did, it would beat out the Quincy for one simple reason: this is the only one that we've had Bluetooth out successfully work (which isn't an option the Quincy even has for some reason). The other two supposedly had it, but would never connect, so I was pleasantly surprised when this one did. The box design has a nice classic look to it, and the lid is sturdy and locks in place, and much stronger than the plastic one on our Eastwood, which one of our cats broke when they got scared and ran on top of it. The included speakers are decent for the price point; they do the job well enough, but aren't going to blow you away, but that's also why the Bluetooth out was a big draw to us. You can also use Bluetooth to connect and play another device on the speakers if you'd prefer. The power cord is a bit of an oddity; it's in two parts for some reason, but that could be so there's an ability to swap out the plug based on locale. If you do have a problem with the record player though, especially in the return window, I'd recommend you don't even bother with contacting Victrola; when we reached out about the Bluetooth issues on the other players, their answer was "return it to the retailer and buy a new one" (which, we had done before contacting them and both players had the same issue, so this wasn't really helpful). That kind of soured us a bit on the company, but there's not a whole bunch of options in the value space, and at least the players do their main job of playing vinyls. ... show more

  • Does not have a CD player. Decent enough speaker. Vinyl player is more for novelty.
Color: Walnut Style: Century Core
This is an ok record player for the casual listener. It's not anything a person looking for mid-range or better equipment should consider. This is for someone who likes the aesthetic and to play a record once in a great while. It looks very nice on the shelf - the engineered walnut is handsome and the fabric over the speaker compliments it well. As a functional decoration, it's very nice. The internal speaker is decent if your expectations are realistic. This is not going to give you room-filling sound. But it plays well at a good volume without distorting or sounding miserable. It does its best vinyl playback with classical music records to my ear. The bluetooth-in function (making it a wireless speaker for your other devices) works well and was easy to pair with my phone. It sounds as good as any other sub $50 speaker sounds. It's a nice feature to have for anyone looking to stream into their record player for some reason. The bluetooth-out function also works well and streamed fine to my wireless headphones. This is probably the most useful feature of the player in my opinion. It's nice to be able to play a record to headphones wirelessly without needing an adapter. It also has a standard headphone jack and RCA jacks to output to other speakers via wires. All of these work fine. As a record player, it's kind of a toy - as it should be at this price point (about $130) considering the other technology and the handsome package included in the price. It's an all manual operation so you have to lift and place the needle properly and remember to not fall asleep while it's running because it's not going to stop when it hits the end of the record. The platter is plastic (so expect static buildup and vibration) and about 7 inches in diameter, rather than able to support a full 12 inch LP. It's fine for what it is - a nice accent piece of furniture with a bluetooth speaker and the ability to play records, but certainly not to play records if you're seriously interested in hearing why vinyl is still a thing in a Spotify world. A word of caution - there are several Victrola Century models. This is the absolute base model, which means it has no CD player despite what it says in other reviews or even in the description of the listing. Nor does it have an aux-in port to plug in a separate CD player. If you look at the last picture in the listing, you will see a chart showing what features go with each model name. This is the Century Core. Amazon should fix the listing so it doesn't say it includes a CD player when it does not. ... show more

  • Retro Design, Modern Sound
Color: Walnut Style: Century Core
Well this is a pleasant surprise. I recently found a large box of old vinyl records from my youth and they were still in good condition. I didn't have a record player and was looking at options to buy. I had the chance to try this out so ordered with low expectations. It looked cool in a retro kind of way and I know Victrola is a long standing brand but the form factor and price point suggested it would likely sound poor. Boy, was I wrong. The design and materials are more premium than I expected. There are actually quite a lot of nice details in the design. Setting it up out the box took a few minutes and was really simple. Everything works perfectly out the box. The sound quality is really very good. Likely not on par with that of a high end audio brand but for the price it's great. This actually has Bluetooth and you can stream your vinyl record to a Bluetooth speaker. This feature alone makes this worthwhile. I have it connected to a large wireless speaker and the sound is incredible. This is possibly one of my favorite things I have ordered this year. The combination of the retro design and sound quality make this a great deal. ... show more

  • Attractive retro styling, serviceable record player
Color: Walnut Style: Century Core
This looks great. I love the retro styling, with the wood grain cabinet and the speaker mesh that harkens back to earlier times. As a stand-alone player, it doesn't sound that great for contemporary music, where the clarity and dynamic range of the recording exceeds the mediocre built-in speakers, but connected to a AV receiver or good bluetooth speakers, it's a very serviceable turntable. Yes, the rotational speed is slightly off as noted with a strobe platter, but for casual playing, it's not audibly noticeable to me (it's not like the turntables in the old days were that perfect, either). At this price range, you're not getting an audiophile equipment--this is just a nice decorative piece that happens to be functional, great for occasional use. The parts and construction is a bit on the low-quality side, but still much more attractive than the dozens of other cheap players out there. ... show more
