I spent only $44 for this record player and I am blown away at how well it works for the price. I saw other reviews saying that it had a problem with skipping but I have yet to incounter this problem. The speaks I think are only like 2 watt speakers, but dont let that scare you away, they sound GREAT! They better than I expected. The speakers do lack on the bass and lower ends and are sometimes "sharp" on the highs though. The top plastic lid that covers it all does feel cheap but that can simply be removed. The knobs and buttons all feel quality and not cheap. The arm and needle do feel light, which may be way some people experience skipping but If its on a flat surface I can see that being a problem. This is a good-looking record player and sounds not too bad. The only problem is the arm is too light and skips when playing. It wasn’t worth the hassle of returning it after already setting it up, so I taped a penny to the top of the arm to give it a little weight. A nickel was too heavy. Now it plays better, albeit looks a little wonky. It’s super easy to set up and plug and play. It gets rather loud so don’t think you’re sacrificing that when getting this. It’s definitely an okay value, is compact, and looks nice. The cover goes up and down easily and doesn’t slam down. You can close the cover while playing the record which was very important to me. I’ve honestly not used the FM function because I’ve had no need but I’m sure it works well. Update: after having this less than a year, I did some major research and got a new record player. the penny trick is bad for your records and the sound on this could be much improved. you're better off spending a little extra on a better turntable and some separate speakers. records are an investment and should be treated with care, and I was worried what more use of it would do to my records. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. After 1.5 years of almost daily use, this record player bit the dust. It will not spin or play. I contacted the manufacturer and was told the warranty was expired, that there were no authorized repair facilities, and that they do not make replacement parts for the unit - Essentially making it landfill fodder. Ocerall, it was literally just an OK record player, nothing special. I would definitely recommend springing for a better quality model, and staying away from Victrola as their quality is certainly not what it used to be.
