Description

The revolutionary Victor Multi-Kill Electronic Mouse Trap delivers a humane, high-voltage shock to kill mice in seconds. This trap is designed to kill up to 10 mice per setting and up to 150 mice per set of 4 “C” batteries. The Multi-Kill has a 100% kill rate, making it a reliable rodent control option. For your convenience, the M260 mouse trap is easy to use – just place bait on the back wall of the trap, place the trap indoors where mice travel, turn it on, and let the Multi-Kill do all of the hard work for you. A blinking green light will alert you when there’s a catch, and a yellow light will let you know the chamber is full. Victor M260 Works as Advertised and as Expected. Good Brand, Good Product.
Size: 1 Trap
Victor Multi-Kill Electronic Mouse Trap M260 Victor M260 Works as Advertised and as Expected. Good Brand, Good Product. This review is mostly for the Victor Multi-Kill Electronic Mouse Trap M260, but also for the Victor Easy Set Mouse Trap (4 Pack).Victor Easy Set Mouse Trap 4 Pack M033 I recently had a problem with mice in my truck. The M260 solved the problem during the first night I used it properly. If you are reading this, I assume you want to kill a mouse or two. Please take my advice and get on this as soon as possible. Mice are cute, yes. They are also filthy, disgusting, expensive, and to say the least, darn annoying. If you don't take care of a mouse problem in your house, the mice will destroy your house. If you leave a mouse problem in your vehicle go for just a few days, they will soon destroy your vehicle. Mice have easily caused more than $1,000 worth of damage in my truck. Awhile back they made their home in my air intake, and I didn't realize it until my truck broke down because of it, and had to be towed to the dealership. Now my CD changer under the seat has stopped working, as well as several other things. In addition to urinating and defecating literally everywhere they go, mice destroy things during their quest for nesting material, they eat through wires, plastic, wood, and metal, apparently sometimes just for the fun of it, and they spread fleas, tapeworms, disease and illness (really, I'm not kidding). Our job is to kill them as quickly and as often as possible, and this Victor trap is an awesome weapon to aid in that endeavor. I've not previously been disappointed with any Victor product, and this trap seems to be continuing that tradition. Please keep in mind that I just started using this trap, and I can't evaluate some things yet, such as the "battery low", or "mouse tray full" indicator lights. Regardless, I will give this product 5 stars at this time, and adjust later if necessary. I think I read somewhere that when this product first came out it didn't get very good reviews. I'm glad to see improvement in that area, and I'd venture to guess that it was mostly due to user ignorance regarding how to bait and set the trap properly. This trap works well, but only if you do a couple things to enable it to do so. For one, make sure you set the trap with the stairs facing a wall (or in my case, the back of the seat), and position the trap right up against the wall, or as close as possible. Mice tend to not run around randomly in the open, but are more likely to stick to cover whenever possible. When they encounter the trap they could just go around, but if you bait the stairs a little with some tasty morsel like peanut butter, they will quickly forget about their original destination and follow the trail of food instead. Follow it right into their grave, that is. The first night I put the trap in my truck I had no luck. This is because I didn't really try. The second night I had the truck cleaned out some, and the trap positioned and baited in a more logical manner. That's when I caught the two mice that were reeking havoc. Oh what a good feeling. As with all that exists, this trap has pros and cons. First the bad news, the price. Yes $100 is a little pricey for a mouse trap. Of course if you have the need or want for multiple traps, the price starts to drop significantly. On the other hand, if you just have a couple of mice to kill, you might want to consider the Victor Easy Set Mouse Traps (Victor Easy Set Mouse Trap 4 Pack M033). I like the ones with the yellow fake cheese "pedal" as opposed to the ones with the "metal petal". They seem easier for me to set, they have variable sensitivity, they actually catch mice without using bait, and at the time of writing this, if you buy the 8-pack they're about a dollar each including shipping. That pretty much makes them disposable if they get too bloody, and that will definitely happen from time to time. I've had great success with these (including catching two mice with one baiting), but they can be messy and inconvenient. If you want to use these you might also want to consider some cheap latex/exam gloves, and some newspapers to set the traps on. The splatter is not limited to the area of the trap. Another bad thing about this expensive electronic trap is that it needs batteries in order to function (4 C's), and that additional expense might be something for some to consider. As far as the pros for this trap, I'll let you use your imagination. I will say however, that it was unexpectedly nice to dispose of mice today, without having to pry a squished mouse out of a disgusting, bloody trap. Okay, now what about ethics, morality and in general, doing the right thing? You might be saying, "It's terrible that in our sophisticated society, people are doing such horrible things as electrocuting mice". To those people I would ask, how do you prefer that I kill these mice? And I am going to kill them. I'm certainly not going to waste time and money on mouse relocation efforts. So what does that leave? If traditional traps are your preference, please consider some of the things I've witnessed while using them; blood, guts, brain matter, a nose, mice escaping from the traps after a trapped appendage finally came off their body, and mice escaping into places I couldn't get to, while the trap remains attached to them in some way. (They will slowly die in that heater blower over the next few days.) Or maybe you think I should just toss some poison bait near their nest. Really? Are you kidding? Death by poison is one of the most painful ways to go. Try to imagine something eating you from the inside, out. And of course animals of all sorts, including pets often eat dead mice and die from the poison as well. I plan on moving this trap to a new location every few days, or whenever I'm pretty sure I've eradicated all the mice from a particular area. There's two other vehicles, three sheds, under the deck, and on the deck near the dog food. They all need attention. I assume this trap will perform as equally well in those locations as it did in my truck, and I'll edit the review as is pertinent otherwise. I hope that helps some. UPDATE: Captain's Log - Day 1: I applied a small bit of peanut butter to the back wall only, and put the trap in my truck, on top of a bunch of tools and junk. I caught no mice. Day 2: I cleaned out my truck (mostly) and I positioned and baited the trap better. I caught 2 mice. See my video for more on this. Day 3: I moved the trap to a likely area on the deck, next to the firewood box. I touched up the bait a little at the entrance to the trap, but did nothing to the bait that remained inside. I caught 2 more mice. Day 4: I left the trap in the same spot near the wood-box again, and I left the 2 dead mice in the drawer. I touched up with just a tiny bit of peanut butter near the entrance again, but I did nothing to the bait that was still inside. I caught 7 more mice, for a total of 9 in the drawer at once, and a grand total of 11 so far. I found a product that I really like, mostly because it works extremely well and it's darn convenient compared to the more traditional alternatives. This doesn't often happen with me, so it's rather pleasing when it does. However, I'm displeased when I see injustice in any form. I believe that whenever it's possible, we all have a duty to at least attempt to correct the things that we feel are wrong. It is wrong for a person to say that a product does not work, just because that individual was unable to get the product to perform satisfactorily. I'm fine with you saying that YOU couldn't get a product to perform, but when that happens I'm not fine with you saying the product simply doesn't work, especially when it's so obvious that it works quite well for many people. Even if you're basing your entire opinion on Amazon reviews alone, it's easy to conclude that the M260 in fact does work. Likewise it is not "junk", and it does not "suck" either. At this time I can't be sure whether or not Victor's claim about the trap holding 10 mice is true, but I can verify that it holds 9 mice and has some room to spare. After all, so far I've only had the opportunity to test the trap for 4 days. However, it's extremely hard to stomach the fact that when I scroll down the Amazon page to see the reviews, the first things I see, standing out from the rest, are things like "total failure", and "caught no mice" I understand that we are all supposed to be able to speak freely, but for me, this somehow seems wrong. I realize this review is lengthy, but I feel the need to say a couple things to those people who said they couldn't catch mice with the M260. First of all, you must be doing something wrong. You can live in denial all you want, but if everyone except you are successful in an endeavor, how could you do anything other than conclude that you are somehow, in some way, in error? Maybe, since you spent $100 on this project, you should consider doing a little research as to why others are successful where you are not. Maybe, you might even want to go so far as to do something as crazy as watching my video to find out what steps I took on my road to success. Secondly, the weird thing is that many of the unsuccessful people are comparing the M260 to traditional snap traps, by putting the snap traps around, or near the M260. What, really? Here's an idea: why not try putting even more snap traps around the M260, and see if that helps. After all, if you were on a quest for a thousand dollars, what would you do if for some reason, you had to choose between bending over and simply picking up the money, or carefully navigating a series of traps to get to another, different kind of trap that was more difficult to comprehend and navigate. I think most people, like most mice, prefer the path of least resistance. Saying that you can test the viability of a trap by surrounding it with other, lethal traps that are theoretically easier to get killed in, is about as ridiculous as saying you can make a chain stronger by adding links. I've witnessed people insisting on both. Just my 2 cents. Again, I hope it helps. ... show more

Extremely effective mousetrap IF IT WORKS
Size: 1 Trap
Being a glutton for punishment, apparently, I tried again. Again, nada. Not one mouse in the nearly two months I've had it. NEW UPDATE: They're back, and nothing else has worked, so I just ordered another of these traps, since it's the most efficacious one I have experience with. Mice seem to be working in groups, and this is the only trap which will dispatch a raiding party. We'll see if this works as well as the first, and I'll reupdate this review as soon as I have some experience with it. UPDATE: The first of these worked *extremely* well. However, after a few years of faithful service, it died a natural death, and we replaced it. The new one did not work at all although we were experienced in using the trap. Former review: We've tried a number of other mousetraps, but none which were foolproof: the bait would be taken without triggering the trap, or we'd find the trap across the room, sometimes with the mouse still twitching. We liked that this kills the mice quickly, and that it has the capacity to trap more than one mouse. Well, we did find one in the trap which wasn't dead, but could feel the drawer shaking, so emptied it outside, which allowed the mouse to get away after a harrowing night spent with the corpse of another mouse. Other than that one instance, the mice appear to have been dispatched quickly, and the frequency of catches has gone way down, as has the size of the mice caught. It works so quickly that the bait never appears to have been touched. January 2013 Have only just now needed to replace the batteries. The trap continues to work efficiently for us (no more escapees). I have found that gluing a crumb of Trader Joe's Trail Mix Granola Bar to the bait wall in some peanut butter seems to be the best bait so far. September 2016 This hasn't caught a mouse in quite a while, although we're seeing signs that they're back. We replaced the batteries twice, and have cleaned the metal plates well, but it's not working, although snap traps placed in the same area are killing mice, so this must be well and truly dead. It was great while it lasted. ... show more

Difficult to keep it working
Size: 1 Trap
The trap is located in a barn where there is an over population of mice running everywhere. So far the trap has only killed maximum of 3 mice at any given time. No sure why more aren't caught (especially overnight) - maybe the scent of a dead mouse scares them away, not sure. Only have killed about 10 mice in 3 weeks even though I change locations and place in areas where I know they frequent. After about 10 kills, found the light went from green to fast blinking red after about a minute when reset. So I removed batteries, cleaned kill tray/plates with damp cloth per instructions and replaced batteries, however, green light would change to blinking red within a minute after resetting. Finally took a damp Qtip and scrubbed plates thoroughly. After that it finally started working again but who knows for how long. Noticed urine in bottom tray with dead mouse so was wondering if moisture from urine secreted during the electrocution is causing the kill plate to short out. It is wonderful product when it works just not happy that I have never found the 10 mice in the tray as advertised and not happy that the electronics seems to be very sensitive and probably won't last long. I do have my receipt and Victor promises a 1 yr warranty if returned with receipt. Was really hoping for better results for the money paid. It will be very inconvenient to return the product for replacement and possibly have to same poor reliability. It does work better than bait killer and regular snap traps though. The mice are smart enough to eat the bait from the snap traps without setting it off and avoid the bought bait killer all together. ... show more

Worked right away the first night of use!
Size: 1 Trap
Review Image by Kirk
UPDATE: I've been using these for years now...and just set a new record of 7 mice caught in one afternoon after resetting it after another kill this morning. I only re-bait the trap with peanut butter once a year or so, and batteries last 1 to 2 years for me.. So,, still expensive for a mouse trap,, but the best that I've ever used.. And, $99 spead over 8 years of use with the same trap ain't bad! I justreceived my Victor M260 Multi-Kill mouse trap yesterday afternoon and set it up overnight. Just basic set up per instructions with a dab of peanut butter on the back wall of the kill chamber (will try adding dabs to the stairs as many here have noted if it becomes necessary or in attempt to lure in multiple mice per night). So, set it up in garage last night late (about 10PM) and when I headed out to work this morning, I looked at the trap to see if the green light was flashing (actually not expecting it to be on the first try) and, sure enough, flashing green light!! Opened the drop drawer and there was a good-sized deer mouse, dead as can be. I was a little surprised (and concerned) to see a deer mouse as we normally have the standard little gray house mouse. But, this was a brown, white-bellied deer mouse, about 2-3 times bigger than the standard gray house-mouse. Bad news to have deer mouse indoors due to the extra diseases they carry, but good news that the trap with its small entry hole could and did capture such a large mouse. So, to those with comments below concerned about the small entry hole being the reason they're not catching mice...not so, I think. Try moving the trap to different locations and/or re-baiting with some chocolate/peanut butter combination and entice them up the stairs will little tidbits there. This trap CAN catch large mice. We have a pretty bad mouse problem, so I am looking forward to multiple kills overnight, but, even one at a time will be great. Emptying this trap was by far the easiest of any I have used (including the single-kill Victor electronic trap, which I stopped using because it was a nuisance to empty and clean out). I have used the Nooski traps with some success, but you do have to pick up the dead mouse near that trap, and resetting the Nooski traps can be frustrating. Regular spring traps have worked sometimes, as well, but seem to fade in effectiveness very quickly, and you do have a mess to clean up every time...and sometimes an unpleasant drawn out squealing death to listen to, as well. Biggest drawback is the cost. I bought one here on Amazon to try it out...and today I ordered the 3-pack special that you can order directly off the Victor Company website (Amazon has a link to the website for that 3-pack, as well). A tip if you order that 3-pack--you can elect to receive Victor's marketing emails and get a 10% discount on your orders from them. That makes the per trap cost of the 3-pack come out to about 60 bucks each...still expensive, but a lot cheaper than 99 bucks. With a multi-kill mouse trap arsenal soon to include 4 of these traps, my 2013 WAR ON MICE will soon be ON! Will update as I have more experience and hopefully success with this trap.... ... show more

although its been a couple of days i can already see im not getting anywhere with this crap trap, day 1. i put bate inside no luck. day 2. bate all of stairs of trap, the results..... mice ate the bate all the way to the top of atep yet didnt go in. These mice are in my bed room i see at least 6 or 7. i have Parrots and these mice love parrot seeds so i solved the problem of the seeds being available for parrots to eat but this trap is not doing anything at this point. I had no choice but to give it a try cause i have parrots and needed a safe option but all this safe option has done is take my money :( i hope i can give a positive rating soon but ATM no luck. Just updating my review i changed it from 1 stars to 4 only cause it took a while but today i found it flashing and 2 cute baby mice dead in it so i guess it was my fault as i hadnt put the trap in a better spot like i did just now. So now i can say i love the product but have yet many mouses to catch. It does seem it must of happened quickly i really didnt wana murder them but i heard if u use the live traps and let them out far away from ur home they die of starvation and cold etc and i live in New York so too many house around. So very happy it worked heart broken of what ive done :( ... show more

I really wanted them to work, but I was disappointed
Size: 2 Traps
I have had great success with other electronic traps (from Owltra), but I really wanted this to work so I could catch a large number of mice without having frequent maintenance. Plus, if the trap empties itself, then the new mice don't see a dead mouse, and they don't shy away from it, whereas the other single occupant traps have a visible body (until you get around to emptying it) that the other mice can see and then they learn to stay away from it. However, I was sadly disappointed that these did not function. One of them was obviously malfunctioning when I put the brand new batteries in it. The mechanism sounded like it kept rotating inside, for no reason. I tried cleaning the conductive surfaces off, tried a different set of new batteries, checked for any obvious issues that I could see without opening the unit, but nothing worked. Then the red light would start flashing, even though I checked the batteries and they were still fully charged. I had better hopes for the second, since the mechanism wasn't activating for no reason, but after a few days the red light started flashing, just like the first one, and I checked the batteries and they were still fully charged. Even tried a new set of batteries, newly purchased and fresh out of the box, but same issue. Please Victor, when you guys get these things figured out and working properly, let me know so I can get some! But until then, I'll have to keep trying other methods and check them every day. ... show more

Stops Flipping Quickly
Size: 1 Trap
It seems like such a helpful thing, to lure many mice and have the trap remove them from the electrodes to be ready to catch another. I have a few of the Victor electronic mouse traps, and they all work as expected. I have the minor grumbles about them that they don't leave enough space for the bait to lure the mice all the way in, and they can only zap one mouse at a time. The idea here is that the mouse is lured into the trap, gets zapped, and then a motor spins the trap around to dump the mouse in a bucket, returning to a fresh, empty trap to catch another. It kind of works that way. They didn't fix the bait problem. If you try to use any bait that simply rests in the trap, like grain or seeds, it gets dumped with the mouse. It would be great if there was either a separated bait area that didn't rotate, or perhaps a little pocket or sleeve with a screen to hold the bait. I get around this by smearing peanut butter on the side, as I do with the other traps, so the mice can't reach it from the non-trap end, but it does move it closer so that more timid mice can reach the bait without touching both electrodes. There's another problem with the electrodes, too, in that sometimes it cooks a mouse a little too much. This can cause them to sear right to the plate, so it takes a bit of scraping and maybe scrubbing to get the electrodes clean again. This happens in the other traps too, leading me to get the disposable electrode compartments, which is great, but seems like a big waste. In this trap, when a mouse gets cooked, it won't fall out when the trap flips over. The flipping mechanism takes a lot of oomph, too. This beast takes 4xD batteries, and they don't last quite the 100s of mice as promised. This thing is begging to be plugged in. There also doesn't seem to be any way to maintain the trap body. Unlike the single-traps, the electrode section can't be removed for cleaning, so you're limited to scraping it clean. There doesn't seem to be any way to ensure the axle is lubricated and clean, either. It flashes a light to let you know that the electrodes have been triggered. It doesn't give an indication how often, so you can't tell if there's one or more victim within. And more often than not, it's flashing to indicate there's a problem, whether with the spinning trap part or batteries. I like the concept, and I get the execution (pun intended) is difficult, but this has enough room for improvement that I wouldn't recommend it unless you're going to keep on top of it. Mine has caught 2 mice, not in the same sitting, and both were stuck to the electrodes and not dumped in the bucket. The other nearby Victor zap traps have caught more mice, some sticking, some dumping neatly away. All of them have had empty traps that alerted, likely zapping a mouse without killing it. I do recommend the other Victor zappers, but this one not so much. ... show more

Works GREAT!
Size: 1 Trap
I have had my Victor M260 Multi-Kill unit for almost a year now. I live in the country - a nice home situated in a wooded setting. Lots of pretty birds, dear frequently roam... it's great. Unfortunately, the "wooded setting" is also home for some unwanted little critters. During the summer months, things are pretty normal with them minding their own business living where ever they live out in the woods. So long as they stay away and out of sight I'm fine with this... they don't bother me, and I don't bother them. When it starts getting cold however, they see my garage as a nice warm place to relocate for the winter - and that's when the war begins! No more Mr. Nice Guy. In year's past, I have probably used every kind of mouse trap ever made. I used the original Victor wooden/wire snap trap most of all. I used the newer plastic easy-to-set snap traps (several styles), glue traps, etc. Like most people, I hate setting them, and I hate emptying them. Upon their first use, they transform from being a clean device to handle to a filthy, disease-ridden unit often containing bits of fur, blood, or other reminants to be avoided like the plague - pun intended! However, as much as I hate mice, I really don't enjoy killing them. I respect life and love animals. I don't want them to suffer (and many have). But despite their cute big eyes and ears, mice are dirty, carry diseases, are mindless and relentless. They poop and pee everywhere they go - spreading their filth. Since you can't ask them to leave, or negotiate with them - it is simply a necessary thing to do, and all the PETA people can just let their heads explode over it! Having said all that, I have always been looking for a "better mouse trap" that somehow eliminates the issues I described. This is the trap! So far, I have killed over 35 mice (not that I'm counting or anything...). It has been 100% effective - no wounded mice, and no fur, blood, poop, or pee. At first I smeared a big gob of peanut butter (the universal bait) only in the main chamber as described to attract them into it. But I didn't catch any mice. I then decided to put a dab of peanut butter on a few of the steps to better attract them and let them eat their way up them - leading them to the "mother load" inside the chamber. That works. After arming the unit, I simply check to see if the green light is flashing - letting me know a mouse(s) has be "taken care of". I open the drawer and there it (or they) are, peacefully dead with a full last meal in their tummy, and ready to be returned to the woods as food for something higher up in the food chain. I love how the kill chamber rotates and drops the unlucky mouse into the drawer and then re-arms itself! I have had as many as 3 in the drawer. So if you go through similar battles with mice as I do, I highly recommend that you consider buying this unit. For me it has been well worth the extra investment, and it has been 100% reliable from a mechanical, electrical - and killable basis. ... show more
