If you only need it once in a while, it's an OK "gadget" and not a quality tool. The light is adequate as is the magnet. The telescoping is not very long but that makes it thick enough that it won't snap off after a couple of extensions and collapses. They should be clear about it requiring 4 LR44 batteries, which are non-standard batteries. Yes, it comes with them, and yes, they supply a second set, but after that, IF the device is still working and hasn't broken, it will be a pain.
