  • Perfect! Very pleased!
I've been watching the Viair compressors for a while trying to decide which route to take for my needs. In my mind even this is only temporary but I am beyond impressed with the model I chose! I was gonna go with the new bigger 485C Gen2 but then decided to do a more temporary approach and use an old 2.5gal tank I had and just mount it all inside my tool box. Doing this made the height of the compressor an issue as I wanted good heat dissipation and clearance from the head of the jug and my tool box lid. I also vented my tool box a little better. So looking at all the detailed specs on the Viair website, ironically the first one on the list to handle a 2.5gal tank was also the shortest in height, shorter than even the lesser compressor motors! Perfect! Also this baby hits 120psi faster than they stated! I know this 275C is rated for 150psi but my tank isn't and 120psi is all I'll ever need anyways. It probably helps that I have a diesel with two batteries as its basically just a big copper motor pushing the compressor piston up and down. It makes a little noise but not that bad really, specially when it's enclosed! Ha. I followed all the main instructions on the wiring part of it all but instead of connecting the relay to a "keyed source" I ran enough wire to have a toggle switch under the dash. That way it doesn't just come on before I actually cranked the truck over or if I'm leaving the key in the auxiliary position and don't plan on needing any air. Much better to put that extra effort into it and less strain on the batteries. I did run 12ga wire for the main power run with an inline fuse by the battery as recommended and just 16ga for everything else as they are just for the "remote/trigger" wires. 40amp relay and 20amp fuse. I didn't worry about what the toggle switch could handle because again those are remote/trigger wires, not main power run. But don't go cheap on purpose either. Great bang for the buck! Thank you! ... show more

  • Worked great as a replacement for my exhaust brake.
Worked great as a replacement for the compressor supplied with the BD exhaust brake on an '06 Dodge 2500. Way cheaper than buying it through BD and bolted right in.

  • Overheats
I have used this a couple times, It fit where I wanted it to but have some problems with it turning itself off because it has overheated. This may be due to a faulty air filter or something else but the wire diagram was followed exactly and also used 10 gauge wire like it was recommended.

  • Great product fast shipping
The price was fair shipping fast and easy installation . Bought a new truck moved the old air horns and supply tanks with all the plumbing to the new one .replaced the old worn out compressor with this one . Fast easy install so far two weeks down the road some 2,000 miles later everything is perfect. Set the compressor up with the 95 on 120 off relay pressure switch to feed one two and a half and one two gallon air tank. Takes a little over one minute to pump back up to 120psi from 90psi whith a good blast from the horns. Real attention getters at 152 dessabels Would reccomend this product to friends ... show more
