  • Recommend!
Yes, assembly is required but we are 89 and 90 year old retirees. If we were able to assemble you should be able to assemble. We have used it to scatter grass seed and fertilizer. We used our 23 horse lawn tractor. No problem with reaching back and reaching the seeder control lever. And, arthritis and the back problems did not limit being able to handle the seeder!! ... show more

  • Don’t buy, poor quality
Poor quality, assembled first unit and holes drilled wrong so called company who sent a replacement, unit damaged and would not work at all. Ask for a refund and they started giving me a run around so returned it through Amazon versus directly working with them.

  • Works great and sturdy
Was not that difficult to assemble. Works as described and hopper will hold about 25lbs of grass seed at one time.

  • It's good enough for my work.
I have no idea who weighed the contents of the box that said it holds 130lbs, but I could only fit in one 50lb bag of grass seed. I used an ATV and had to constantly get out and check to see if the the box was empty. Plus there is no way to control the open and close handle without being right by the spreader. So if you are driving, every time you stop the seed pours out the bottom till you can close the handle. Still, it was better then using a walk behind small spreader. I used it over some rough terrain and it stayed upright. Its light enough to hang from a hanger on the garage wall to keep it out of the way ... show more

  • Illustrations and directions are absolutely horrible!
Their assembly illustrations and directions are horrible. No details provided, I had to keep going back to reread and look at the pics trying to understand what they were explaining. I am very adept mechanically, but these called for a lot of guessing as to what goes where, and how it was supposed to be positioned. Took 1/2 hour to just unpack and another 2 hours to assemble only to find the hopper was reversed, so linkage to the slide gate won’t attach. On step one they never explained how the hopper was supposed to be positioned, and the very last step is to hook up the slide gate arm, so now I have to disassemble it all and start over. The illustrations are terrible, and the instruction booklet is printed on a small 5x7 inch page, along with showing the parts needed for each step, so you can’t really see any details. For example they say to slide the locking set collars onto the shaft but don’t say where they are to be located or tightened into place. The auger too does not say which side of it the collar should go on when installing. They also have very small tolerances to slide the cotter pins in, so they are extremely difficult to get into place for the agitator and the wheels. Why they don’t use spring clips instead of these cheap cotter pins, especially when there is such is tight clearances to install is just cheap! The unit looks strong and should work once I can get it all put together correctly. The long and short of it is they could make this so much easier if they just redid the manual on a 8 & 1/2 by 11 booklet and put way more detail into the illustrations and assembly directions. ... show more

  • Inconvenient control of hopper
I researched spreaders carefully before buying this one. The ones that really appealed to me had an electronic switch that the rider could use to open and close the hopper on the spreader. All of the ones with an electronic switch required a rack to mount them onto the back of an ATV. We have a Cub Cadet zero-turn mower with no way of mounting one of those. So we bought the Vevor. It is compatible for towing behind the mower. The issue for me is opening and closing the hopper. There is no way to do so without getting off the mower. This requires putting on the brakes, climbing off, closing the hopper, climbing back on, driving to the following site, putting on the brakes, and climbing off. When stopped and the hopper is open, it drops fertilizer onto the spinner/agitator, overflows the spinner, and dumps it onto the ground before I can close it. While jumping on and off the mower is probably good exercise, I'm old, and it is not pleasant. I use the spreader on 5 open acres. I live in East TN, and there is nothing flat here; it performs well on the hills. It was easy to assemble, has held up well (so far), and is easy to tow. We are figuring out a way to attach a handle that will reach the driver, preventing the constant on/off and dumping of fertilizer. ... show more

  • poor product
My experience with this spreader was horrendous. The assembly took forever in part because some hole were not drilled bg enough and in one case two hole were not even drilled at all. The instructions for assembly are very poor without a sense of any warning such as "make Sur you do ___ before you do ___" As a result there some putting together and then taking back apart I had to do. In the end the opening to the spreader would not even close all the way. A very disappointing experience and purchase ... show more

  • Great spreader
The product appeared to be of high quality and well-constructed. The seed and fertilizer dispensing door at the bottom, however, did not close completely from the factory. I found it necessary to modify the closing rod using my vice. I would have given it five stars if not for this minor issue. Following this adjustment, it performed flawlessly. This device effectively spreads material eight feet in either direction. I was able to cover my 25,000 square foot yard in under 20 minutes. It is a very capable tool. **Note:** It is important to thoroughly rinse your spreader after using triple action or other chemicals to prevent corrosion of metal attachments and premature damage to the spreader. Please ensure it is washed down after each use. ... show more
