This is actually a 5" mattress after giving it time to expand. I read many reviews of other rollaway beds in which customers complained that the mattresses advertised as 5" were actually 3" or 4". However, since it's thinner than a typical mattress for the bedroom, it doesn't provide enough comfort. That's the main reason for a 4 star rating. It seems that most if not all rollaway beds around this price range are the same as far as comfort. After all, if they made it too much thicker, it would be hard to fold it up when not in use. We added a good quality cushioned mattress pad protector, which helps along with a jersey knit fitted sheet. We may add a 1" foam mattress topper. It's very sturdy. The person that uses it most of the time weighs around 300 pounds, is 6' 2", and it's holding up well. It's fairly easy to set up each time. There are 4 metal "arms" (2 on each end of the bed) that hook over another part. There is no need for tools or dealing with screws. We had a metal bed frame (for a narrow twin mattress) that claimed to be foldable. It required disassembly of part of it to fold it, so we returned it and got this, which it much easier to set up. The initial assembly would have been much easier and faster if there had been better written instructions (another reason for the 4 stars). It was primarily pictures some of which were small. I assembled about 95% of it by myself, so I had to study and figure some things out, which added to the time needed. I've assembled many items through the years, so do have some experience. I also sometimes used my own tools (battery operated screwdriver, etc.) I was working in a small space with a pet sometimes getting in the way, which didn't help. If you are working in a larger pet-free area, it will be easier. There wasn't an assembly video online that we could find. It looks nice and is easy to move around when folded. We bought another cover because the one provided was accidentally torn when trying to put in on the folded bed by someone recovering from an illness. Overall, I recommend this rollaway bed. It's good quality for the price. Just keep in mind that you may need to add mattress toppers or pads to make it more comfortable.

Semi okay to put together except one of the sides the frame that you push together was bent some. After using the hammer some we got it to go into the other piece. It will serve its purpose for a temporary bed for sleepovers. Do I think the quality matches the price? No. I think its $60 to much. I'm hopping the mattress puffs up more like it says it will. update I reached out to the company to see if they would be willing to give a credit not an entire credit but something for the value of what we had to do. They said absolutely not and that I can take it apart and send it back and get a credit through Amazon so I wanted to let you guys know customer service does not care enough about the customer to take a look at the information I sent pictures and proof and it wasn’t enough so I took my star from three stars to one star if there was a negative star I would so I would go elsewhere for a different purchase.

Mattress is not thick enough to not feel the metal frame beneath. Frame however is sturdy. All in all it would work in a pinch but I wouldn’t recommend it for a comfortable nights sleep.
