I don't usually write reviews but I felt compelled to about this lapidary machine. I have been looking at getting a 6 inch cabbing machine for a while and there are some very nice ones out there in the $1400 range, but then I cam across this for under $900. Whoah, do I pulled the trigger and hoped for the best. The good: it's cheaper than anything other than a used machine where you don't know how it eas used previously. It came on time, actually early, and was fully assembled, except for setting up the water system. The wheels are decent quality, and I was cabbing 30 minutes after unboxing. The bad: only thing I found was one of the holes to hold the peg on the bottom of the drip tray was a bit off and had to be routed out a bit to set it flush. The wheels run from 2 hard wheels and 4 soft. Can't complain. I've done about 60 cabs on it so far and it's going strong. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase! ... show more

Thos os a very good machine for price.. paid 870usd after tax... received in 2 days.. was very easy to put machine together .. was cutting in less than 20 min... only issue is on left side the water valves are a little tricky.. they either aren't open enough and spurt intermittent... or too much water and it splashes... also after purchasing machine I should have gone with an 8 inch wheel machine as the wheels are sooo close together. You do get used to it.. but beware once dopped... its easy to hit other wheels on accident... but overall 4 outta 5 stars.. very good machine ... show more

The build quality reflects the economy price tag

Will it cab? Yes. Can you produce nice work with it? Yes. However, ask yourself how much you want to put up with for the lower price tag. It’s loud, it rattles and it’s flimsy. The hoods and trim saw platform are thin, wobbly sheet metal with sharp edges. The platform piece has a huge gap down the center so forget about trimming down anything under and inch and a half and it’s so thin you can’t lay your slablet or preform flat without it wanting to cave in as you cut. The dripper system sprays all over the place. It’s my biggest complaint. I don’t know how but my table, the floor, the neighboring shelf and I all get soaked. I watch videos of people using diamond pacific and cabking machines and they’re not dripping wet. It’s crazy. I rigged up a makeshift spitter which works much better and hooked it up to the pump instead (since it’s a bucket feed/drain pan system). The wheels are also so close to each other you have to be very careful not to hit the neighboring ones with certain pieces. Luckily I’m a lady with small hands and I'm getting by ok. The center light doesn’t reach to get a good enough angle at what you’re working on as you go along and especially so when you use the trim blade which is both dangerous and frustrating. The plastic parts, trays, splash guards, etc. well, they all rattle. The instructions are useless and even the wrenches that came with it to remove the wheels were machined so poorly they didn’t fit and I had to file them down by hand. The motor gets hot, I don’t know if it’s hotter than it should be but the Vevor logo has melted and slid all out of place. I’ve only done a few dozen cabs on it so far so who knows how long this machine will last but I’m frustrated enough to be spending a lot of time trying to make using it more comfortable instead of just using it. I took the word of a lapidary I met and bought this. He seemed to think it was a great deal and really appreciated his but I sincerely wish I had spent the few hundred bucks more for the real deal. I just hope when it comes time to replace the wheels I can find compatible ones. In the meantime I’m happy with the cabs I’m producing but I wish I were enjoying it more and I think that sad fact comes from the underwhelming build of this setup. ... show more

Addicted to rocks

New to rock hunting. I have 2 rotary tumblers, and I was getting tired of waiting weeks to produce a good shine. I watched some videos, and I knew this cab machine was the way to go but they are pretty expensive. I then found this one and I bought it and loved it. My wife says I am having too much fun, and I really am. I can't wait to get out and find more rocks so I can use my Vevor cabbing machine. Love this machine, works great. Wanted to post a little hack I have done with being able to use lap discs on the ends of the drums. You will need 6 inch lap discs with 5/8 or 16mm arbor holes and bolts to secure in 16mm 2.0 pitch. You will also see a platformI bought that I can position close against the lap disc. You can also use this when using the cutoff blade as shown though I had a different bolt type and length for that. Also needed to add a lock washer to the hex bolts listed below as the depth inside the end drum is quite shallow. All items from Amazon listed here. Wheels are not in correct order and vibration

Grinding and polishing wheels were out of order and there seems to be a lot of vibration. The vibration causes divots on my stones. I tried reaching out to Vevor, but I didn’t have any luck.

I've been using my Vevor cabbing machine for over 2 weeks. I am a beginner, but I am very pleased. I have grinded many rocks and made several cabachons. It came with everything you need to get started except for water buckets. I'm going to have to look into getting a polishing pad to put on the end for the final polish.
