  • Good-quality product. Very positively impressed so far.
Size: 5 In Style: K11-125
So far I am quite pleased with this chuck for my application. I've adapted it for use as a stationary (vs. rotating) round-stock holder for drilling and cutting operations in my drill press and radial-arm saw (with which I can even LIGHTLY cut metals with the right blades). Action is crisp and tight, suggesting close manufacturing tolerances. Seems obviously to be a high quality product, ... show more

  • Customer service saved the day
Size: 4-Jaw 2.75 In Style: Wood Lathe Chuck
Received the 2.75” Chuck and out of the box it would bind up whether expanding or contracting. Tried to move the jaws to fully open, then fully closed, but it would bind 3 times in each direction. Contacted Vevor customer service, asking if I should return the chuck. They sent a second chuck and said there’s no need to return the defective one. A week later I received the second chuck. Works great. Strong enough grip to hold a 2” diameter spindle 9” long with a 1&1/2” tenon while drilling a 1&1/4” hole with a Forstner bit in the tail stock. After working with the good chuck, I took the defective one apart and found the ring gear had a broken tooth. Would have given 5 stars if I received the good one first. Would have given one star if customer service had not been as good as it is. ... show more

  • Came with burrs everywhere, and full of grinder dust.
Size: 6 In Style: 3 Jaw+ Backing Plate
Idk what I expected for the price, but they did a bad job of finishing this chuck. It required a full disassembly and deburring and clean out of the box to run properly. And even once that was done, it typically only held concentricity as well as 5 thou most of the time. Other than that it functioned completely fine as a chuck. For the price I don't know if I could have expected any better. ... show more

  • Good chuck
Size: 4-Jaw 3.75 In Style: Wood Lathe Chuck
This is a good little chuck for what I paid for it. When I bought it the price was 20 bucks cheaper and I caught it on sale so even less. For the price that it is now however I think I would just buy a nova. But if you can find it in a sale or something it’s definitely worth it

  • Jaws and chuck are not numbered to their location.
Size: 6 In Style: 3 Jaw+ Backing Plate
Seems to run within .002, but the instructions clearly state that if you remove the jaws make sure, they are put back starting with Number one and put them back in their number sequence. Problem is there are no numbers on the jaws or the chuck. UPDATE. I found the numbers on the jaws, but there were not any on the chuck, so I engraved the numbers on the chuck, now's all good. The last test after cleaning the inside of the chuck shows one- and three-quarter thousand's total runout. It doesn't get any better than that with a three jaw self-centering chuck unless you play around with shims. Fantastic chuck at any price. I highly recommend it . ... show more
