After using this product for two very successful bleachings . . . I'm having trouble understanding why several users have implied that it may not be the same thing sold by dentists. I found it to be exactly the same. In just 30 quick minutes, it did precisely as good a job bleaching my teeth as the exact same product I got from my dentist . . . at half the price. Be very suspicious when half of the critical reviewers say the stuff sold by Amazon is so weak it didn't do any bleaching at all . . . while the other half say it was so much more powerful than the same product supplied by their dentist that it supposedly burned their gums. Huh? Which way is it, folks? It's highly unlikely to be both less powerful and more powerful than the same stuff sold by their dentists. Draw your own conclusions, folks, as to who is telling the truth here . . . or who is just terribly confused. Here's the likeliest explanation. This stuff comes in several different concentrations, ranging all the way up to 35%. The people who found it less potent or more potent than the stuff they got from their dentist may be inadvertently ordering a weaker or stronger solution that their dentist uses. Use a magnifying glass to check the teeny-tiny print on the syringe your dentist sold you to see what percentage they gave you. I like the maximum 35% --but that maximum strength can leave your gums a TINY bit irritated -- usually not enough to be a problem. The irritation quickly goes away in 12 to 24 hours. To reduce the irritation, I space my 30-minute bleachings several days or even a week apart. As for those who say the version sold by Amazon is "fake" . . . get real, people. How long do you think the legitimate manufacturer would allow Amazon to continue selling a counterfeit version of their patented, trade-marked product if these people yelling "fake" had any validity at all? Wanna try selling fake Coca-Cola on Amazon and see how many minutes it takes Coca-Cola to haul your behind into court? There's also another possible explanation. If you aren't already suspecting that some of those reviewers are dentists themselves who are furious that you can bypass them and buy this stuff direct from Amazon at half the price . . . then you must be awfully naive. I purchased these after I bought them from my dentist the first time. I leave them on for 45 to 60 minutes and use them by weekly. Works wonders on whitening teeth. Depending on the person, it may cause sensitivity.

Beware of this product. Firstly, the packaging is just a plastic bag, without any instructions or at least the name of the brand or any info at all. Although it is doing a great job with the whitening, it is seriously irritating the gums. On the 3rd use of the product, and with a distance of 2-3 months between uses, my gums began to burn within 10 minutes, I took it off immediately and saw my gums having white bubbles and hurting as hell. It took 3 days the pain to stop and gums to heal. Be careful what you put in your mouth.

You need the plastic mold of your teeth, which your dentist will make up for you. I’ve been using the Venus for probably 4 years and it does keep your teeth white and I use it very sparingly maybe once a month. It works.

I originally got custom teeth trays & this exact same whitening product from my dentist and it was not cheap. Very happy to have found higher % of whitening, with more tubes for a much less price. I would say if you don't have the custom trays it could be messy and sometimes the gel can sting your gums a bit. So happy to be able to purchase this and ditch the dentist's mark up.

Got a tray from my dentist and some of their whiteners but to expensive to keep purchasing. So bought online and don’t think they made a difference, so won’t be purchasing again. Should have given 1 star.
