I have several thumb braces but this one only gave the support my thumb needed. I love the Velcro straps around the wrist that go in the opposite direction. The straps that go around the thumb is nice and tight but make sure you don't make it too tight. I actually bought two of these.

I had a repetitive strain injury to the base of my thumb. I tried flimsier, smaller braces, but they allowed too much movement. This one forced me not to use it and gave my thumb and wrist the break it needed. I also liked that it had so many points to adjust.

I’m using this splint after I was released from a cast for a broken wrist. I love it. It’s easily adjustable and keeps my thumb immobilized along with my wrist. It’s almost identical to what I could have purchased at an urgent care for about $100 more. They actually showed me this one using my phone app. It also came with three comfortable liners. I do not like to wear this but it's a must. I had de Quervain's tenosynovitis and surgery to correct. I wore prior to surgery to keep thumb stable. Surgeon approved for after surgery for continued stabilizing of the thumb after temporary cast removed and until fully healed. SOON PLEASE!!! This does the job but I am so tired of having to wear it. Has a very stiff support under the palm and down the forearm and of course at the thumb. It works, and there's probably nothing to do regarding comfort, it is what it is. I hace dequervains from holding my baby all the time. It’s quite painful. From what I’ve researched you need to completely immobilize your thumb and have your wrist in a neutral position (at first) . It’s been very hard to find a brace that does both AND won’t scratch my baby with all the hardware and velcrow. I had it several months ago in my right hand and tried 5 different braces including one similar to this one but no drawstring and only one strap for the thumb. It didn’t stabilize my thumb enough and I kept reinjuring it. This brace appears to be from the same maker so I was extremely hesitant to purchase it. (Now my left arm is the one acting up) I actually ordered the wrong side but upon trying it out it seems perfect! It doesn’t have any sharp edges that would scratch me or my baby and it immobilizes my thumb as well as puts my wrist in a neutral position and it’s not super bulky. I will be ordering a second one for the correct hand and I’ll probably keep the other one as well in case I need it again. I will update once I’ve actually worn it for a few days ... show more
