This is a very soft material that is breathable and fully washable. It is comfortable enough to sleep in without leaving red marks on the skin. The only reason I give it 4 States instead of 5 is because it takes 2 people to put it on. I cannot put it on by myself. The steaks cross in the back then come around the risk and go under the arm that's in the sling. Then there is a body wrap that is not attached, which is the part that takes a second person. It gets Velcroed to the front of the sling in the center, then wrapped around the outside of the injured arm, around the back, under the good arm against the side of the body, then Velcroed to the first part of the wrap. There is no way one person can put the wrap on. I tried and it just doesn't work. This keeps the injured arm completely immobilized comfortably. I had a dislocated shoulder with a rotator cuff tear, and this helped make sure I didn't use my arm during recovery.

This sling does a good job keeping your arm immobilized. A small amount of plastic or something to keep the brace from collapsing would be a fantastic addition.

The sling the hospital put me in was awful. Then my husband bought 2 more that we're unsupportive, too large, and hurt my neck. I thought this one would be different. I didn't realize it crosses in the back so also digs in my neck. But that isn’t the worst of it. The part the arm goes in is big enough for a heavy person with a cast on; it’s horrible! Why don’t they make anything for people of normal weight anymore?! Also this sling is terribly hot. Not good when your arm has to live against your body all the time. If you want to try it, be advised that the measurement is only for the piece that goes around the body over the sling. I'm not even using it anymore -- can't stand the thing. Hoping the doctor who is taking over will have a better option.

This Sling is so comfortable that you almost forget you're wearing it. I got a standard Sling for my fractured arm from the hospital. I could not wear it as it hurt my neck. I looked for this Sling on Amazon and ordered it right away. I usually wear it without the stabilizer panel that goes around the arm and back. If I had to keep my arm still, then I would wear it. It's also comfortable. You will love this sling.

My wife broke her shoulder arm bone and needed to stabilize her arms for several weeks per the doctor. She started out with the sling from the emergency room. It supported the arm but did not keep it snug against her body so it was very painful as it allowed her arm to move away from her body. Then we bought a sling from the local pharmacy. This one was better as it kept her arm snug against her body. However, the edges caused chaffing and the "belt" around her midsection that keeps the arm tight against the body allowed the arm piece to move left to right. So again she had pain. THEN we found this product. Oh my gosh, thank heavens for the company providing this sling. It is very comfortable and soft, and there are no chaffing edges. Plus, the Velcro keeps the arm snug against the body and does not allow the arm to move left to right. She is able to sleep in this sling as it is so comfortable. She has no option other than to keep the sling on 24 hrs per day as her arm bone has to be immobilized to heal. This is a GREAT sling and we were very happy to find it!

Very comfortable, cushiony material. There is no elbow. 2 pieces. One goes around from the elbow to the hand but the elbow is exposed. The other piece wraps around the injured arm and torso. Unfortunately my son woke up with his arm over his head 8 days after his shoulder surgery. Good for daytime use though.

I bought a medium first and just winged measurements and it was too big, but still worked just fine aside from some extra bulk. I decided to also buy a small, which fit even better. The supporting band that comes with is awesome not only for extra support, but can be used for rib injuries as well.

I bought this in preparation for my shoulder surgery. Though my surgery came complete with a sling, ball and support pillow, I wanted something that would take pressure off of my neck. This sling does that. However, it’s very difficult to get on and off by yourself. I have my husband help me. I bought a Large but think I could’ve done better with a medium. I’m a female at 5’9” and 200lbs. Super lightweight and not as cumbersome as the sling I received after surgery. Good for sleeping.
